This is the 3rd year I have started this thread and have gotten some great ideas over the years. So here we go again!

I have one DD15 who is NOT a girly girl at all. We are going to WDW/US over Easter and Adventures By Disney this summer as I am trying to do "experiences" over many gifts.

She found some crazy N64 gaming system still in a box at a church sale for 2.00 last month and loves this crazy thing. So I will get her another game for it. And be honest do you think this is weird - Simpsons Lego Set $200.00. I never mind the price of legos b/c honestly we save ALL boxes and manuals and have made a mini forturne reselling years later on ebay! She loves the simpsons and loves legos but obviously at 15 isn't playing with them but enjoys the build. Yeah or Nay on the set?

That's all I got! Someone on another thread suggested scratch off wall map. I am going to look into this....

If you think that she would like the Lego set by all means get it for her.

With the vacations you have planned I would get a nice suitcase.

A few years ago I got each of my girls a travel toiletries bag and filled it with travel sized shampoos body washes etc.

Many people on the boards like packing cubes.

At 15 gifts have more switched from toys to grown up things.

We have bought DD 19 all kinds of Snow White items picture, statues and the Snow White makes up they had at Walgreens this year.

Thank you for starting this thread. I will have a 12 yr old & almost 14 yr old this Christmas. We are limiting gifts to $100 each, and then gifting a long weekend ski trip. So, I'm struggling with the gift idea part.

I will also be looking into the scratch off wall map idea. I think they would both like that if I can get it for a reasonable price. Saw some on Amazon for over $24, which is a bit more than I want to spend.

I have a DD17. Most girls love to go shopping with their friends, so I have given her smal gift cards from $5-$20 at her favorite stores, the movies, Starbucks, places to eat, etc... One year I placed them inside a frame that had many different picture openings, She loved it! Right now I am looking for stuff she will need at college next year and will come up with a basket/container to put it all in. $200 is usually my max for her Christmas presents.

Super cute frame idea! I have done gift cards too but that is a nice one to present them. Will check that out. My dd is into"bands" and music etc. Last year someone gave me the good idea to get her a guitar string bracelet very cool. She is my only one and honestly I do try to keep her "little" in my head which is why I always gift a "toy" - ie. the Simpsons Lego set etc. I tend to spend a decent bit on her b/c again she is my only child...Last year she saved up enough to buy her own gaming system and guitar from dog walking so she always tends to buy her own big gift..

She has an iphone 5s and just bought herself a new case. Has her own laptop, which she bought. So I can't think of any electronic gadget to get etc. She talked about an electric guitar to which I would love to get her that but her interest in her guitars go up and down..This is going to be tough this year b/c grandparents, relatives, etc. all ask "what can we get her"? She goes to a private school so wardrobe isn't a big deal. She loves "FREE PEOPLE" store so I usually end up with something from there but honestly take out electronics, clothese b/c of private school - you don't have much left for a 15.5 year old!!!!

So glad I found this thread !

My DD 14 has always been hard to buy for, because she had so much stuff (crap)

She is full to the brim on hair stuff, nail stuff, make-up, etc.

She doesn't have one particular interest in anything specific.

I *thinking maybe, about getting her an I-phone, she has an old cell phone that we pay $10 a month for that she hasn't used in months, she mainly uses her I-pod touch, she bought it herself and then busted the screen pretty soon after getting it.

I'm thinking by the time x-mas rolls around, the 4s will be cheap.

The 6 is due out this month so the 5s will be super cheap as well. I think my DD bought hers in May for 99 and got a 20.00 target card...

My dd is 17 and here are some of the things I'm thinking for her.

Jamberry nail wraps and heater
New perfume- probably the new 1D
Couple of new tops
Raincoat and binoculars for our Alaskan cruise next year.

You may want to see if there's a concert she's itching to go to, or enlist the help of her friends to see what's coming up. I've alternated buying dd (now 17) tickets or ticketmaster gift cards.
This year will be easier for me as it will be all about getting her stuff for her dorm room and going off to school next year.
I've never had too much trouble finding things for dd. The problem is I like to start early and by the time we get to December 1st she all of sudden remembers or finds a ton of things she wants.
This year (and last year) we are doing a December trip to Disney. Both the kids wanted to go to Universal so they know those tickets are their big gift. But they will still get some medium/small items to open Christmas day.

Forget Amazon, look for them on eBay (I use "scratch map" as my search). You just have to allow several weeks - up to a month, honestly - for the shipping, since just about all are coming from overseas. But I've had good luck ordering things like that, you just have to be patient, and give yourself plenty of time.

Here's one seller that has them for under $7 right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281418187413. I just ordered 2 more for my nephews.

I ordered what appears to be the exact the same thing from another seller at the beginning of August, and the quality is very nice for the price - nice weight paper, it even comes with the storage tube. Although I admit I haven't scratched anything off just yet to see how well that works - it's a Christmas gift for DD14. I also admit I haven't studied the map to ensure all countries are labelled, spelled and shaped correctly LOL I suspect they are all made by a single manufacturer in China, so who knows sometimes - but if something is wrong, I figure that will just add to the fun and laughs - I mean, it is only $7-8, right? Here's the seller I bought from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/380991950295. In my experience the ePacket shipping from Hong Kong this seller utilizes gets here a bit faster than some of the economy shipping used by other sellers in other countries but since there is still plenty of time, you probably don't need to worry about that.

Here's even one that claims to be from a seller in the US, so quicker shipping times, but it is a few bucks more: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Travel-Edit...116?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c860334e4. (But I'm cheap :rolleyes1, so I'm fine ordering this far in advance from overseas in order to save a couple of bucks)

DD wants a long board. I have no idea what to even look for! glad I have some time.

Love this idea! I have a teen niece and never know what to get her. This is great!

Last Christmas I bought my DD (18) a really nice camera. She has used it EVERY single day and has even taken some "senior pictures" for a couple friends. The pictures came out awesome and their parents are thrilled they didn't have to buy expensive photo packages.

At this point, I think she obviously has an eye for photography and is now ready for a DSLR camera where you can use with different lenses. I think that will be her big gift. Now I just have to learn more about them and choose one.

My other two teens ages 16 and 13 will be getting IPhones. Hoping the prices drop more once the 6's are released. We use Straight Talk with Verizon so I have to pay the full price for the phones since we don't want to do any contracts again.

My daughter is into sports and earned her varsity letter last spring as a freshman. She also plays varsity volleyball and JV basketball. With her letters (varsity and academic) and other pins, we're thinking of buying her varsity jacket for Christmas. I know that is what she wants. I'll also get some smaller things like iTunes card, maybe a hoodie. Nothing else huge since the coat is fairly expensive and I have a limit.

Thank you so much! I figured eBay might be better, but hadn't looked there yet. You've saved me the search! :cheer2:

I got my kids longboards at Zumiez. We have Arbors and Sector 9 boards. But the graphics are a very personal choice.
DS18 has one with a tree, DH has a wave, DS13 has a skater, DS12 has a kanji sign, DD's is plain, the one I want has a pin up girl.

Do you know what she would like?

My DD14 is asking for Comicon tickets for Christmas. She loves concerts and is going to 3 in the next month! 1D, Demi and Katy Perry. I will look into any others that I can purchase as Christmas gifts.

She loves to read. Loves Dr. who. Loves the Sims. Loves clothes and shoes. She likes movies...jewelry...she really is easy to buy for but appreciate ideas:worship:

My DD is 11 and she loves doing her nails. I am buying her stamping plates and the stamper, dotting tools and a bunch of polish.

Here in Texas, teen girls (at least in our school) want Kendra Scott jewelry. It is pricey so I signed up for their emails and received 15% off. Also, last year I bought each of our kids a portable battery charger for their phones and it was hands down their favorite gift they received. :confused3 It was a total last minute buy at Target. So, needless to say, if your kids are like mine then any accessory for iPhones or smartphones will be big hits.

I'm thinking that we will be getting DD 14 a Bose bluetooth speaker for her room. She likes to kidnap her brothers when he is home from college. Really thinking we are going to try to cut back this year. I feel like every year we spend a fortune at Christmas time.
