Would it be worth it to leave the Beach Club and WDW to drive to the ocean for a day and drive back. Or will my kids not want to leave the pool just to see the ocean?

It's up to you but the kids will be able to build sandcastles at Stormalong Bay!

We have stayed in the one bedroom BCV with our two daughters. The pullout bed in the living room is a queen so it was plenty big for the two of them, but they are not 6'2 or 6'3 (What are you feeding them? :) )

Thanks for the reply about the rollaway.
My dh and I are 5'6" and 5'8". Our 4 boys have outgrown us!

Dee, will post the pictures for you on the view thread.

Just finished posting them for you. You have my permission to use any of my pictures that you would like whenever you want!

Thank you so much! I appreciate it.

I'll have to get back to the view thread to index the new posts there.

:goodvibes

Dee - we changed again! We are now at YC GV August 17-20 (had to be there for the Dis Meet!) AND GF GV August 20-27!

Scott or Nettie - I know you are doing a split stay too - are you able to do everything on the one MB? Hotel reservations and FP +?

Got it. I'll update the Be Our Guest list next time I make revisions.

:)

We have stayed at a BCV 2-bedroom in the past, but this trip we are only taking 2 teens with us so we are trying a BCV 1-bedroom. Age old question- what is the best way to make a 2nd bed in the living room? Do we have to take an air mattress? I remember the size of the LR so I understand the limited space, but these guys are 6'2 and 6'3 so sharing a sofa sleeper isn't the answer for them.

I assume there are no rollaways.

We stayed at OKW last time so they could use the 2 sleepers in the LR, but I was able to get an RCI exchange into BCV so I don't have the option to change resorts.

Can't remember if I have given you a welcome yet, so

:welcome:

When is your trip?

:cool1:

Hi everyone! Well we are at the airport waiting to head home. We had a short but fabulous time at the YC. We really enjoyed hitting the parks early then spending the afternoons at the pool and back to EPcot at night. We found the wait times to be very short except for the big headliners. Our MBs worked great and I loved the memory maker and being able to have the PP photographers scan our bands. Worked great!
I also got to spend some good time with our famous Teena. She enlightened me on the AP and guess who is the proud new owner of a AP Teena?!!!! :-). Can't wait to see you again in February.
Once again the CL works so well for my family. I found the offerings to be fantastic. And oh my goodness.... Oreo Bonbons.... Wow. Make sure you stay over on a Saturday night because those are awesome.
Thanks so much for listening and I can't wait to live through your trips coming up.
:-)

Congratulations on the AP!!!

Thanks so much for taking us along during your trip!

We checked in yesterday for our 10 night stay at BC. I had originally booked Garden View, and had requested first floor and done online checkin.

Imagine my total shock upon arrival yesterday to learn that we has been upgraded to Club Level for our stay! I was in tears in the lobby.

Our room has a gorgeous full balcony overlooking the front of the resort. We can see Spaceship Earth, Illuminations fireworks, and MK fireworks from our balcony. We are a short walk to the lounge, which we enjoyed three times yesterday.

I am overwhelmed at this incredible amount of pixie dust we have received. I would love to understand their upgrade algorithm so I know how we got so lucky. Thank you Mickey!

So glad you had a great time. Meeting Teena really is a highlight! Disney really knows the right people to hire. I'd could never be a great greeter. LOL

We are counting down the days until our Beach Club visit at the end of June. :cheer2:

Hi y'all!

Will you please add me to your BOG list? We are staying at the YC for the first time for a quick weekend birthday celebration for DD and DH - Aug 1-3! Thank you for all of the wonderful information and pictures!!! :goodvibes

Woo! So it's similar to us! We are YC 8/17-8/23 and GF 8/23-8/25!
I'm still not truly sure about how this is all going to work as far as bands.

We seem to have 4 sets of bands coming our way. One set for BC, one set for YC, one set for GF, and one set for being AP holders. Eeek. It's a lot to juggle. And as I look at it...it's more to possibly loose. I may just bring one. It's just easier.

I'm so glad you mentioned this. We are in the same boat (as I'm sure many people are). Will there be any problem combining our passes and ressies onto one of the bands?

On another note. We are staying in BCV in a one bedroom for the first time. I'm used to BWV and am familiar with the layout. Is there any tricks or preferences for room locations in BCV?

So glad you got the AP. After we did the math, it just made sense. Congrats!!!!!! I really enjoyed spending time with you and look forward to seeing you in February!

Me too! Now to get training.:crazy2:

Yah, that's pretty much what we would do too. And then just get whatever other food, wherever, as we needed it. I have a teen and a preteen boy, so just being able to go in and get a snack here and there is good. Plus, we are on the 2nd leg of a split stay and they want to spend some time at Storm a long, so we're not really going park commando at this time and more relaxing around the resort and epcot, and things and just generally whatever.

We really enjoyed this vacation because of the resort time. I will never go back to the park commando way of my past. :rotfl2:

omg oreo bonbons?!??! :dance3:

Personally once I am there, I don't think I would like to leave. I think it would only turn my kids into crabs.:rotfl2::rotfl2: We definitely enjoyed sitting on the beach at the BC relaxing and they really enjoyed SAB every day. I think if I was doing it I would tack it on to the beginning or end of my trip.:)

Will there be any problem combining our passes and ressies onto one of the bands?

Nothing gets combined/put onto the Magic Bands. All your passes and reservations are linked/entered into your MDE account. All of your Active Magic Bands will have access to everything linked/entered in your MDE account.

Think of the MB like a debit card. We have 2 checking accounts (1 for bills, 1 for everyday stuff) and 1 savings account with our bank. The money in those accounts is not loaded on our debit cards. Our 2 debit cards, wife's and mine, can access the money is all 3 of those accounts. That is exactly how the MBs work. Our money in the bank is just like your passes, tickets and dining reservations in your MDE account.

I have been a major lurker here for a while now - I did post forever ago with our dates - but have been reading reading and reading some more since then. Only 21 days until our BC trip ! This will be our third family trip - in 2009 we stayed at POFQ and in 2010 at CBR. Had to wait this long to be able to afford a deluxe :) I think I mentioned in my other thread how excited I am to be so close to the UK Pavilion and the fish and chips (I'm from England, but have lived in South Dakota for almost 18 years). It'll be me, dh and our almost 11 year old son. Our first trip, in 2009, which we saved for 5 years for, was when our boy was almost 6 - at the time, my dad, back in England, was very sick (cancer). The day after we arrived at POFQ, I got the dreaded call from England to say that he had passed away. My mum and sister insisted that we stay at Disney - and, knowing my dad, he would have agreed. They arranged his funeral for the following week - so we did stay. Yes, it was very strange and surreal, but we celebrated his life during that week. I flew back to SD after our vacation, then immediately flew to England for his funeral. Oh - and that week at Disney, I swear it rained - poured - all day, every day. A tropical storm stalled over Orlando, and it was just...wet.
So - we just had to go back the following year - our "do over" vacation. We had a wonderful time at CBR, and nothing terrible happened - the weather even stayed nice !!
This year - I am anticipating warm - but not too hot - weather. No phone calls from England. Fish and chips. Lots of pool time. Ice cream and milk shakes. Walks around the lake. Fun in the parks - of course. More fish and chips. And - basically - the best vacation ever !! Now I just need the next 21 days to go by in a flash, I can hardly stand the waiting !!!

I am so sorry for your loss. But glad your do over trip was a success!

We love the UK pavilion so being in the resort area that close to it is awesome! There are phone booths there, but they just have pranksters calling them. One of our travel buddies actually has the phone number. So we sit across from them on the benches with beer and watch people answering our prank calls. It's really fun!

Edited to fix my Autocorrect mistakes :-D

That is hilarious! My DH would have thoroughly enjoyed that!

Hope you have a wonderful vacay! We were at Universal 2008 when Tropical Storm Fay hit. We were so waterlogged I thought we'd never dry off!
