:cool1: :sad1: However, on the bright side- I'm sure you will appreciate all the room you will have in the villa. How many people are sharing the rooms? The tour and fireworks cruise are great additions to your trip. I wish I was going to be there so I could join you! :)

There are five of us traveling together. Originally we had two rooms at YC so now we'll all be under one roof. Having the extra space will be nice as will the laundry. Running clothes tend to get stinky when used for running!

I wish you were going to be there too!

We are heading to Epcot after the half marathon for a celebratory Grey Goose Slushie. I've already informed my girls how wonderful the refillable mugs are for frozen libations!

We have a garden view room reserved at BC. What would be some room requests I should think about?

Personally I would request a courtyard, not woods, view. However, if you want to be down near the secret exit by Epcot, then requesting a woods view near Epcot is the way to go. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Another couple of considerations are whether you want to request a full balcony (only about 50% of the rooms have full balconies), do you have a preference of lower or higher floor, would a daybed be helpful for your situation?

Here is the post on room requests from our FAQ. Make sure your most important request is listed first or is the only one.

How do I make a request on my reservation? How many requests should I make? What should I request?

You should note any requests on your reservation through Disney's CRO (Central Reservation Office) or your travel agent can add it when your trip is booked, or anytime thereafter. Requests should be made no later than 2 weeks before you will arrive at the resort.

Please remember that requests are not guaranteed.

The fewer requests you have, the more likely there will be a room available that meets your most important preference(s).

Your best bet is to request what you want in words, not room numbers. The chance that a particular room will be available during your trip is not as likely as finding a room that satisfies your room preferences. If you request a specific room, and there is someone staying in the room on the day you check in, the room assigner will have to place you in a different room. If they don't know what your priorities are, they will have trouble giving you another room that has the attributes you want.

When you arrive at the resort for checkin, you can ask before you take your keys if your requests were granted, and if not, see if there is anything available that meets your needs. Please note that you should do this through REGULAR checkin.

Online checkin is designed for grabbing your keys and going, no questions asked, so if there is a possibility you will ask for a room change, you shouldn't do this.

There may not be a room available with the request you made when you check in (e.g. full balcony, daybed, king bed). If your request is important enough that you are willing to change rooms later in the week, ask when a room will be available and see if you can arrange to switch rooms.

Requests vary because what is important to one family may be different for another family. Some popular requests are full balcony at the Beach Club, a day bed, close to lobby (or elevator or Stormalong Bay), close to Concierge Lounge (if you are staying club level) or close to EPCOT.

:surfweb:And......Thank you Dee for keeping up with all this information. :surfweb:

I can hardly keep up and I'm only reading!

When you enter SAB I know there must be a scanner there for the MB, is there also a finger scanner there? (like entrance to the parks)

A lot of the questions we get from new posters ask about comparisons to other resorts they are familiar with and may love. I would like to add a section to the Photo/Video/Review/Trip Report Post (Page 2) with people's honest impressions of the BC/YC/BCV compared to other Disney resorts.

Wood Nymph- may I add a link to the thoughts you gave above?
Of course you may add a link to my comparison. :thumbsup2

My apologies in advance if this has been posted else where. I looked and I can't seem to find any list of the bathroom amenities provided for club level guests. Does anyone know? Do they still offer shampoo, conditioner etc... sewing kit and cotton balls and swabs? Bathrobes? We try to pack light and if I can avoid bringing something that is already in the room, then I'd like to at least try. Much Appreciated.

Yes, the Beach Club CL GV rooms are on the 5th floor. There are only 9 of these rooms and they all have full balconies. There may be just one with a daybed, but the rest don't have them, so these rooms are generally not bookable for families of 5 or more.

Can anyone who has stayed in a BC CL GV room provide their room number?

I believe I stayed in one, Room 5631, but it was before the resort had a GV designation. The room overlooked the back entrance courtyard, no daybed and had the best people watching of any room I have had anywhere!

This is great to know! There always seems to be a lot of concern about whether or not folks will get full balconies. That seems like a great tip for those staying CL who want to make sure they get one - just book a GV. Are they all relatively close to the lounge area? Thanks again!

Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, facial soap, bath soap, bathrobes.

I don't think they offer the cotton balls and swabs nor mouthwash anymore. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

In addition to what is listed above we also had a tube of solar gel and a tube of mint foot rub (YC CL room). No cotton balls/swabs or mouthwash.

This was in our BC CL room in July.

My bad- Looks like I didn't photograph the label of the white bottle in back. Is that lotion?

It sounds like the amenities left in rooms may not always be the same.

If there is something specific that you want, it doesn't hurt to ask (leave a note or ask your mousekeeper if you see her)

We did have bathrobes in our closet. I have heard of an instance in the past when a guest staying club level did not find bathrobes. If that is the case when you get to your room, you can simply ask one of the CMs who work at the CL desk.

:thumbsup2

Process of elimination would make it lotion. :)

Wood Nymph, natebenma, CPer's Mom, Mickey & Minnie Mom, Thanks for taking the time to answer my question:flower3:

natebenma- photo was so helpful and I loved your entire photo shoot of the room! :thumbsup2

What is the current design on the Rapid Refill Mugs? Is it the same beachy design that has been available for the past few years or is there a brand new design?

If there is a new design... Anyone have pix?

We are official - BCV July 15 - 23!!! Made our ADR's today at our 180 mark and got everything that we wanted at the times we wanted them! SO EXCITED for our first stay in a villa!

It's taken me several days to get enough oomph to write this post as I've been in a deep funk. Dee, it pains me terribly to say this but please take me off the BoG list in February.

SNIPSIES

My "no longer staying at YC"-induced depression has been helped by the fact that my companions said yes to doing the KTTK tour AND a Wishes fireworks cruise. We have room for three additional people on our cruise if anyone is available on 2/21 at 7:30. We would divide the cost of the cruise by the number of people who partake in it.

I do find some solace in that I'll be staying at BC in June with my family. Yay!

I would so ditch those "friends" of yours and just make a break for it to the Beach Club/Yacht Club line when you hit the magical express.

What are they going to do?? Drag you kicking and screaming from that line? WELL IF THEY DO then I would throw the tantrum to beat all tantrums. I'm talking a Princess infatuated, goldie locks sportin, two year old of a child, tantrum.

Here are some useful, tried and tested "I'm not staying where I want to" Tantrum tips:

First your lower lip has to stick out and start to tremble when they tell you you have to go in the "Not the Yacht or Beach Club" line. Large tears should well up in your sad eyes and your knees should start to get wobbly and knocky. Normally this would be enough to alarm most adults, especially since a "Lady of a certain age" like yourself is going this route to get her way.

If they don't give in IMMEDIATELY and escort you to the YC/BC for your stay you are going to have to bring out the big guns... and by that I mean Stomping your feet and flailing around with your hands. Don't be afraid to throw things unless it's one of those Dooney and Bourke $$$$ purses. If you are tantruming with one of those I would just grab the nearest cheap-o Target purse off of some unsuspecting lady who ventured too close to your circle of tantrum and throw that for a good distance.

Rarely, you find yourself in the grips of one of those "Logic" types that thinks they can talk you down with out letting you have your way. If this is the case you are going to have to go Full Monty... and by that I mean FULL Monty, which is to say ripping off your clothes and flinging yourself on the floor. I should provide a note of caution here because if things get this far then the authorities will be called and tranquilizing dart guns frequently are brought to the scene. The upside to this is that enjoyable new medicines will be prescribed and you will be given a nice white jacket to take the chill out of those Orlando winter evenings.

The bottom line here is that You should never even considering giving in when the choice is NOT staying at the Yacht or Beach club. Stand your ground, minus a purse and some items of clothing and demand to be taken to your first choice of resort destinations.

It was the beaches design at Christmas. They added a rapid fill picture and had newer colors for handles. We were offered translucent purple or green. Other resorts had orange. This was at Coronado.
