Hi all!
Does anyone on the DIS boards know when they release the Resort Activities Calendar for Beach Club each month? I'll be there from 4/16-4/25 and would like to plan some pool time. DD loves the pool and movies:goodvibes. Thank you in advance! Have a great night everyone!

:cool1:

The activities schedule is released on the first of the month, and I usually get a copy early in the month, by the 2nd or 3rd. As soon as I get it, I post it here, and on the first page of this thread.

The months of buying Disney gift cards has paid down the bill to $636! I just wanted to celebrate a bit.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::dance3::yay::banana:

Who will be with us at our home away from home on July 16-24? If so, interested in joining my mum and I on an Illuminations cruise?

P.S. The BOG lunch FP+ is awesome!!! Used it last month and have another one for later this month. I take a photo of the BOG FP+ confirmation screen on my phone so I don't have to bring along a print-out. I text it to the rest of my family in case my phone fails me for some reason.

That is a great tip to take a picture of the BOG fastpass screen. We have a fp for lunch tomorrow and of course I forgot to bring my printout of the screen. So just now I took a few pictures of the confirmation so I have it for tomorrow. :thumbsup2 My sister and her friend are joining us for lunch and it will be their first time there. It will be fun to show them around. :)

Good work Wood Nymph! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Your next assignment, if you have the time, is to go into the fitness area and see if you can gain access to the locker area behind the gym. If you can't get past a door that might be locked, ask someone at the spa if you can use the facilities to take a shower after you visit The pool on your check out day.

Once we confirm this information from a guest we can send the resort's Manager a letter asking her to reverse this policy.

It would be best if we could say we had a friend who was denied access to this facility.

The fitness area/locker room is around Beaches and Cream and the arcade,
if that helps!

So I'm supposed to be the guest that was denied access to the showers, right? :scratchin I'll see if I can manage to get over there. Maybe I'll drag my sister over with me for backup. ;)

Now I have an assignment for Ninja Mom - tell me what type of tourist my DH is. We had kind of a busy day yesterday so today he really wanted a nice quiet day with plenty of resort time in the afternoon. So we go to MK, arrive at 9:30am, walk right on some rides, use our fp+'s, eat a great lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, complete with the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, and then we are ready to head out of the MK by 1:30pm, a really well planned out day. This would give us plenty of resort time. But as we are heading toward the exit he says - "We could take the MK train around the park before going back." Well, I've wised up now and tell him "no", we have to go back. Then we are walking toward the buses and he says "we could take the bus to Epcot" and I say "no", I want to go back. - See what is happening here? He is sabotaging himself.

Tonight we walked to the Boardwalk and ate at the ESPN Club. When the waitress brought the bill, DH pulled out his annual pass and his Disney Visa, asking if they took any discounts. She said that they took both those discounts and she applied both of them to the bill. We got 20% off our dinner, 10% AP discount and 10% Disney Visa discounts. I'm not sure if she was supposed to apply both discounts, but we were happy to take it. :)

We went into Epcot, I got another pink grey goose slushie at the food booth and we listened to one of the concerts - The Orchestra. It was pretty good. The show is 45 minutes long and they do different songs at each show. All in all, it was a really good day. We played it very low key and the weather was perfect. :)

Love these live reports! Hope you enjoy your BOG lunch tomorrow!

So funny about your husband sabotaging himself! That's my husband!! I took the boys with me for a 4-night trip last month. My husband joined us for just one night. I planned it so that he would have a non-park dinner ADR with us Saturday night, meet me at the Princess Half Marathon finish line with the boys on Sunday, then spend time in the BWI club lounge, lunch at Via and afternoon in World Showcase. I promised him a relaxing day with no rides - boys were entirely on board. And then on the spot, he decides to deviate from the plan and go on Soarin and Mission Space - self sabotage, I tell you!

Really interested in this pink grey goose slushie!!!! Where do I find this? Be there in 10 days and trying to decide between the dole whip with rum and a regular grey goose slushie - now this pink one enters the picture!

It is called La Vie en Rose Frozen Slush (Grey Goose Vodka Orange, St. Germain liquor with White and Red Cranberry Juice) and here is the link:

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/fleur-de-lys-2014-epcot-flower-and-garden-festival/

It is the first food kiosk as you walk over the bridge into France.

I've never had any of the grey goose slushies before, so I don't know how the pink one compares to the regular ones that they have at Epcot all the time. But this one is perfect for me. :) And putting it in a mug is a brilliant idea. :goodvibes

Loving you trip reports!!!

Just a heads up if you are traveling to WDW in the next month, the monorail is supposed to be down from 11am until 7pm, Monday through Friday until Mid-April. Originally it was supposed to be back to normal by now, but I guess they've extended the work schedule. This really messes up people trying to get to the monorail resorts for dinner reservations. The MK boats to the resorts have long waits with the monorail down. We saw a huge line of people trying to ge the boat from MK to the GF and Poly. Anyone trying to get to one of these monorails resorts before 7pm might want to go to HS or Epcot and take a resort bus. The monorail from Epcot to the TTC still runs, though.

Although the best way might be a taxi. :drive:

Hey fellow Rhode Islander! We'll also be there during that time but on the YC side. I am so looking forward to the warmth and spring flowers! We're getting close to our visit!

page 146-148

I just wanted to confirm that there is no current/updated YC room map (showing which rooms are Standard, GV, LV, etc.)? I've searched through this thread, as well as other threads, but don't find one. Just making sure I haven't missed it, as I did not go page-by-page through this thread :)

Dee has the map and then the corresponding list of rooms you can use to cross check the current view. :)

I'd be interested in seeing a map of the YC rooms also. Is there a direct link I could go to?
Thanks!

The only map I have is the OLD one that just lists standard and water view.

I'll edit it in to this reply in a minute.

Someone posted a different link recently (I think on this version of the thread) that may have view info collected by guests, but I didn't have a chance to check it out at the time and forgot to bookmark it!

I have offered numerous times to stay one night in every room at the BC and YC so that I can gather this important information for everyone, but so far the folks at the resort have not accepted my offer.

:)

I would bring the kids along, but really our oldest is the only one who could supervise them while I'm at the conference and he's in tech week for the high school production that week. As some of you know, there are no absences during tech week!

::yes::

Ben was in tech week this past week and has dress rehearsals next week for his school's production of Music Man, and the week after that, we both have tech week for Night at the Wax Museum.

March is a busy, drama-filled month!

;)

And great offer for the Illuminations cruise. We will be away during that timeframe, but not to DW. I would have loved to take you up on that offer.

We never said that being a minion was an easy assignment.

Unfortunately, the really great assignments like continuing to order Sunken Treasures until you figure out the recipe and taste-testing the Oreo Bon-Bons have already been taken.

:lmao:

I would say either closet commando or newly-minted Disney pro. YAY!!!

I think this is the post/link I mentioned above.

I found this little gem today that might help people figure out room preferences!

http://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/hotels/disneys-yacht-club-resort

I clearly need to take some time to read over the info here- looks like some interesting and useful stuff on initial glance, like the room layout map.

Awesome! Can't wait to try one myself and only 127 days to go. ;) Now I understand why putting it in a mug is such a terrific idea. It would be challenging to walk around with that martini glass. BTW, is the glass it comes in plastic and do you return it, throw it away or keep it when finished?

:love:Just love this thread:love:

I am horrible at live reports, so I figured I would just give you all a summary of our AWESOME quick stay at the BC this week!

We were in Orlando for 8 days for our daughter's college lacrosse tournament at ESPN. We stayed 5 nights offsite with the team, and then my DH and I snuck away for two nights at the BC. We couldn't wait to get to the BC, so we checked out of the condo at 6:30 AM and headed over to the Beach Club - it was still dark outside :)! The place seeemd deserted.....Mary checked us in, and she was so nice and funny too. We had booked a Garden View room and received a magical upgrade to a king lagoon view:cool1: BUT.....we had a friend who would be joining us for only one night last minute, so when I went to add her to our reservation, we lost our upgrade....but oh well...we lucked out anyway, as you will see. Mary said there were lots of rooms ready (surprising) but none had a full balcony. We decided we would wait for one to be available since we had to leave for a game anyway. We stored our luggage with Bell Services, walked around the Boardwalk, had breakfast at the Bakery, and left.

We were at ESPN until about 2:00, and the text that our room was ready came as we were pulling in to the BC. I love that they text you the room number so you can go right there, since we already had our magic bands activated at check in. We were in room 4585, and this was our view:

To the right:

Straight ahead:

Looking down:

It was a great room, right on the corner, and even though you had to turn slightly to the left to see the water view, it was perfect. Very large balcony, no daybed. We loved it! It was spotless when we arrived.

During our stay we spent a lot of time at Epcot in World Showcase. We love walking around there, and I sampled almost every item at the F&G kiosks! My husband mostly hung around the Grey Goose booth in France.....:rolleyes2. We had a fantastic meal in France also, and we sat at a romantic table for two against the windows in front. Our waiter was spectacular. It was getting chilly so I ran back to the room to grab a sweater before Illuminations....just LOVE staying at the BC for this reason!!

We made rope drop one day at MK, and walked on almost everything until about noon and then had lunch at BOG. WOW is all I can say about that! We headed back to the resort after lunch. We used our FP for the evenings, which was GREAT, and used one for the MSEP which I would HIGHLY recommend...amazing view, lots of room to spread out.

This was one of my favorite trips. We have always been to WDW with our two children (now 21 and 23) and will be heading back again in June and August, but we spent a lot of time relaxing and just enjoying the resort. We had breakfast one day at the Captain's Grille which I have never done, and we lounged at the pool and at Hurricane Hannah's. I walked over to Epcot alone to do a little shopping. I sat in the lobby at 6:00 am and read my book. I sat on the balcony and people-watched, and just listened to the sounds of the Boardwalk. Every CM we encountered was helpful and courteous. This stay truly made me love the BC even more, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else!!

Just wanted to add that while we were there I intended to book the BB for our August trip. I had already booked a rack rate Garden View for August 22-27, assuming I would apply the discount when it came out. When I called from the room, the BB wasn't available for my dates for ANY room at the BC and same thing for the Summer discount. The CM I spoke with was wonderful, and tried his best to do anything, even changing my dates a little bit. Nothing. I did purchase an AP while I was there, so I am praying a good AP rate comes out and has some availability for the end of August.

Unfortunately, the pink grey goose slushie is only available during the Flower and Garden Show. :(. But there are grey goose slushies with different favors at the regular booth. I've never tried them, though.

Yay - thanks so much! I think I'm abandoning the dole whip with rum in favor of the pink slushie - lighter and more interesting! Only 9 more days!! Keep enjoying your trip!!!

WDW, thanks so much for your report - sounds wonderful!
