Will be at the VGF in a studio standard view, just curious. Does it make much of a difference to the view if I was on a lower floor or a higher floor? Either way I'm just excited to be staying there. Online check in will be relatively soon and just trying to get a idea of what I'll make my room requests for. No big deal if I don't get what I request, just excited to be able to be doing this for a stay here.

Very new poster longtime reader! Thanks in advance for any info.

We have online check in coming up soon. We are staying at the Grand Floridian. We booked an outer building garden view. I tried reading the 1st page but it confused me even more.

Should I do early check in? What should I request?

Myself, dh & Dd (4) are staying for 8 nights 9 days. Any help would be great!

We just stayed at the GF with outer bldg., garden view also. We did online check in & requested Conch Key, Upper Floor. We thought it was a great location & would request it again. All the bldgs. are a short walk to the main bldg. & Conch Key is the closest to the boat dock, which is where the boat to/from MK is. Also, no matter which side of the bldg. your room is on, will be a nice view imo. The side we were on had a view of the marina & the monorail, plus if you looked to the right, you could even see the castle, and fireworks at night!
Here are a few photos of the view from our room on the 4th floor.

How soon for early check in? I've never done that before either

Do you mean Online Check In? If so, that can be done 60 days prior to your arrival.

If you mean checking in early the day you arrive, you can check in at the resort as early as 6:00AM.

I love this property. Thought I'd report back on some items from the stay. I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of last week. I was there for a conference and requested Sago Cay to be close to the convention center.

I had a standard garden room. I didn't receive turn down service the first night even though I arrived at the room late enough. I also didn't have Mickey ears on the bed. I did have foot cream in the bath but no sun relief gel. (Not sure if that's a standard room inclusion.)

I did receive turn down service the 2nd night. (I called in the am to indicate that I hadn't received it prior and that is like it.) The chocolates were the generic variety.

One more note- I didn't receive a text indicating my room was ready either, although I gave permission for that option.

I've stayed here 2 previous times but was in the main bldg each time. So it was different. But I did manage to end each evening in the main bldg having a nightcap listening to the piano/band. It's my favorite part of the hotel. That and the smell in the lobby. I'm pretty smell sensitive and I looooved the smell.

Are there rooms with King Beds instead of two Queen Beds on request within the Theme Park View category?

Will be at VGF for the first time in 5 days! I'm way too excited. But DH asked what I'm most excited for, and honestly, it's just seeing how the kids respond and spending time with my mom. DS has become obsessed with serving tea, making the one questionable-for-him activity (afternoon tea) we have planned SO well timed.

If I was to request upper floor near lobby, what kind of view will I get? I am assuming the front of the hotel?

It depends on what room category you booked. To be near the main lobby you would have to book a main building concierge room. If you booked an outer building I would look at the map of the buildings and determine what building you would like to request.

The map of the resort buildings is on the first page of the thread first post.

When the monorail is not yet running in the morning? How are the buses they provide are there enough where you do not feel like you are waiting forever???

Are they still doing the Mad Tea Party themed thing for wishes viewing? I think it was just on Wednesdays. Curious about how that's shaping up and what guests of the resort think about it.
