One more question....
Has anyone ordered pizza from the room service menu?
Given Friday's forecast we think this may be a good option before we head back into the park (hopefully after the rain has stopped).

We didn't order pizza, but we did order room service. My husband had a burger and I ordered chicken fingers. The food was pretty decent and I think it ended up being one of our cheaper meals during the trip! The only comlpaint is the portions were pretty small. My 4 chicken fingers were more like chicken nuggets and there were very few fries that came with the entrees. But we were staying in SL so I just went and had a ton of dessert - LOL!

Hello! We are Poly fans, but are planning to have tea & visit the spa at the GF in October.

Can anyone tell me if this list of services is the current one? Thank you!

I used the current spa menu that's online when we booked our November spa package. I didn't compare it to the brochure in the spa, but it seemed up-to-date when I made our appointments. Let me know if you have any questions about the spa!

The only big disappointment for me with the spa, and was partially my fault for not asking, is I booked a package at the regular package price and was hoping to get 15% off with either my Disney Visa Card or that little savings card they send prior to a trip. I read the fine print to see if it excluded packages and it specifically says, "15% off non-discounted prices." I assumed that discounted prices meant I had a discount on the menu prices - like I already received 10% off for some other special. But, the packages are considered discounted. I understood when they explained it to me, but I did make a comment to guest services that I think it should say "non-discounted prices, including packages." I thought I could use the 15% off on my package as long as I paid the full price for the package. I didn't get a discounted package deal. Although if I had booked each item individually I would have paid more - but to me the package isn't a discount but an incentive to get you to book more services. Anyway, tomatoes - tomatoes right, LOL! In hindsight I should have called and asked, but I do think they can make the language clearer about exclusions. If I would have known I definitely would have purchased the services a la carte and skipped the 90-minute pedicure, it was way too long for a pedicure, and quite boring. Lesson learned for next time!

Thinking of booking a deluxe room garden view at the grand Floridian. The couch in the turet area is a day bed correct? All of those rooms have 3 separate sleeping surfaces?

Any buildings that are better then others with those rooms? Thanks! Never stay at GF before and pretty excited if we end up doing so.

Do you mean the tea menu has changed since the last DIS menu update of July, 2015? I noticed the photos are of the previous china, but wasn't sure if the menu is outdated as well. I just checked the WDW website, they seem to have removed all the menus, phooey!

I think dd and I have gone about 5 or 6 times. Our last was 1/15. We stayed CL at gf in August so didn't need to go(CL= all you can scones!!) I always got Miss Kate but now the cheaper options and ala carte items are gone.

Thank you! I noticed they have a whirlpool spa - this is a public area to which one would bring a bathing suit, correct?

I would have read the discount the same way as you did. To me, a package isn't automatically considered a discount, though if there's a cost savings to buying the package over the individual components, I understand what they're trying to say.

Good luck, Lisann, stay safe and warm. Thank God, for a change, we in Connecticut appear not to be getting the brunt of a storm....I'm sure ours is coming. Hopefully while I'm down in the World. I've been lucky enough to be stranded at Disney for 4 extra nights due to Hurricane Sandy (although I did come home to 3 feet of Long Island Sound having temporarily occupied the first floor of our summer home), and stuck for 2-3 extra nights due to snow storms TWICE.

Not at GF but dd and I did a midnight meal last year. She got eggs and I got a burger. Both were great and they brought a table cloth to the room and set it up nicely

Disney pizza is not my fav since we live in NY and have great pizza at home. However we have ordered it at the values before. What we sometimes do is get one or two meals or a salad with it and share(for 4). THere is usually far more food than we can eat ourselves so we make a buffet!

Keep dry! For us the snow is a coming!!!!

NY pizza is the best!! But when we go to S. Fla to see mom, I found a great pizza place! I think the owner is a NYer, lol. My brother maintains its the water Same with the bagels!

Stopped by today to do a little first page editing and see if it was time to start a new thread. We are at 251 pages, but mickynut1 thinks that rule may not apply to the new format. ?? If anyone knows for sure, please post.

You are absolutely correct..the top floor deluxe rooms in the outer buildings to not have a balcony due to a suite that is situated right next door...but there are 3 other floors with rooms that have balconies..one distinct difference though...on the 2nd floor the balconies are enclosed as they are part of the portico roof line....so if a more open balcony with the pretty railing is a preference than I would suggest that you request 3rd or 4th floor....My personal recommendation would be Boca Chica..and for a few reasons....Its situated close to the boat dock and the courtyard pool..and not a far walk to the main building...and also because the views that it has right across the courtyard..of the pool and main building are just lovely....at any time but particularly with both lit up at night...

Sue Outer buildings are just grand too ....There is so much to see and do on the property during the summer months...glad you were able to reschedule your winter trip!

How nice that you got to meet up with Circusigrl again....maybe you can make this an annual get together...Disney logic! Looking forward to hearing all about your DL trip! As for the new GF resort specific merchandise being available on the Shop Disney App..all I can say is WooHoo!!There are some lovely blue ( I happen to be partial to that color ..) GF pillows on there that I def "need"...and now I wont have to being an extra carry bag along to bring them home...

Hi Blue! It wasn't a re book, GF August was always on the books, but I usually get in a Wdw trip in January too, which I didn't book this year for the first time since forever! First work got in the way. And now since the Canadian $ is down to $0.70 I figure it's just as well I'm not going in Jan.
We love the outer buildings, esp Boca GV. I also had a nice lagoon view in Big Pine. Aug seems so far off, doing the GF frown!!

I'm dreaming of GF as well as the snow falls outside right now! Of course, all the kids from the cul de sac (including my DD12) are outside loving it right now-LOL (snow day)! You are correct, NY pizza is the best, assuming you can't get to New Haven, CT where the greatest pizza is made every day at Frank Pepe's Pizza Napolatana -- the white pizza is amazing!

agreed with this, I love NY Pizza. We have places down here that do it, there's only been one that's come close to it that I've found.

We tried the white pizza at the Florida place we discovered in Deerfield Beach for the first time a couple yrs ago! Very good! Never heard of it before.

Hi guys! We are about three months home from our GF ten day trip. I'm missing the GF and WDW. I'm having our second daughter in 4 days, so no 2016 WDW trip. My almost 5 year old and I are really missing it this year! We are spoiled!!!! She keeps saying "When we go to Disney World when I'm 5...."
