Hi everyone!

Does anyone know how busy Mizner's Bar is on a Saturday night?

Thank you

I think that how busy Mizner's is really depends on the events going on at the resort rather than the day of the week..and don't recall seing it busier on a Saturday than other days of the week....:drinking: HTH....

This is usually my luck with a TPV room too!

Lol...Yes I have had some rooms with more of a tree view than anything else...But actually our friends loved the room and the view....::yes::

Oh and Blue you only have like 31 days too don't you?? Happy dance for us all party:

We can all live vicariously through each other as we all count down our trips!!!

Yes we can!!!! :dance3:My ticker is off a bit..lol...I never made a new one after we changed things around some...

Tomorrow is my 99 day countdown, not that I'm counting or anything but it still seems an eternity!

Woohoo double digits!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

And yes Loveshak, I am getting excited about my upcoming trip, even though it's not GF! I am hoping that my experience at BC is a good one since it was good last time:) So Blue... where are you going in 31 days?? I didn't realize your trip is so close either.

Ii have a feeling that you are going to have a great trip Dispro :goodvibes We have friends who are GF RPC regulars who had a recent stay at the BC and really enjoyed their stay...:thumbsup2 As for our trip....give you three guesses where we are staying....:scratchin;):rolleyes1 ...lol....

Sue since I changed my dates I can't remember when you said you were going? I know Beth and maybe mommarosa will be there with me(at poly tho).

I feel like loveshak, I can't wait ! Dd and I are already planning matching outfits for the trip. For Mother's Day she had a shirt made with a mickey head cut out of a Lilly Pulitzer fabric to match my shorts and embroidered with my initials. So cute!!!!

That is adorable...!!! Very grand!!! :flower: Loved that tee...you have a very thoughtful DD...I think that I "need" one too! :flower3:

I just wanted to say hello. I booked my first trip to the Grand Floridian yesterday after a long reservation journey that started at the BC, moved to the Poly, and finally ended at the GF. To say I'm excited is an understatement. It will be my husband, dd (2.9), ds (10 months) and myself for 9 nights in September. I'm sure I will be back with questions :) We are in an outer building lagoon view room. Any recommendations for building requests? I'm thinking Big Pine Key for proximity to the Beach Pool.

Hi Meggers! Congratulations!!! Please fell free join in Floridian fun here! :rainbow: ... 9 nights at the GF is wonderful..it will give you enough time to really enjoy all that the resort has to offer...:lovestruc ... as baler said..everything is really in pretty close proximity. but I do think that BPK is the perfect building to request...with little ones it will have to you close to the main building...both pools and the children's splash pad too....:thumbsup2

MickeyNut More super duper multi quoting I see....I posted one a few weeks back that would have made you jealous!! lol...;)

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a terrific Thrusday!! princess: preppy GF gal who has a wonky ticker...lol....

How badly is your ticker messed up? It says "on the Epcot side" but did you end up switching back to GF? If you're on the MK side, I'm sure it's GF, but if it's Epcot, is it BWI? I still hope you guys come back to RPC for the Super Bowl!!

Congratulations on your upcoming stay. I've heard 4th of July fireworks are spectacular! I know you will enjoy the Grand Floridian.

Since DH was sick for half of our April trip, he wants me to look at dates around our anniversary the end of July and specifically asked about SL. He said it would be so convenient: room to lounge to pool to lounge to room! Stars will have to align with all our other traveling to make it this summer. I guess family DOES come before Disney though.

Here is a pic for all the others as homesick as me!

Hi, these may be dumb questions but I am confused. The garden view and lagoon view say they sleep 5 but the deluxe versions of those rooms say they sleep 4. Sleeping 5 makes me think the room is a little bigger but then the word "deluxe" also makes me think that. So, which one is bigger? Also, do all the rooms at GF have balconies? Or is is just the dormer rooms? Thank you for the help!

You are going to LOVE the GF :goodvibes. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are peaceful, the dining options are great, and you can't beat being so close to MK. I agree with baler and BlueSkies about BPK probably being the best choice for close proximity to the beach pool (as well as to the main building) ;).

No more Epcot area??? :confused3 I can't keep up with your changes :rotfl::rotfl:.

Multi-quoting is the easiest when there's so much to catch up on ;). LOL on your previous multi-quote.....you do a great job of it ::yes::. I remember it taking me a long time to figure out how to do it .

Congrats on your first upcoming GF stay :wizard:. I think the GF is a great place to stay for your DH's birthday and your anniversary celebrations. Glad you are finding this thread helpful. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have as there are quite a few posters who are regulars to the GF who are very knowledgeable and always willing to help :goodvibes.

Not a dumb question at all! The deluxe rooms are larger than the standard rooms as they have a sitting area with a pull out couch and tv. Those rooms used to only have a couch that didn't turn into a bed, but I think that changed during the room refurbs last year. I think they all have a queen sleeper sofa in them now. With that said, I'm not sure if the occupancy changed, but hopefully someone else will know about that (as well confirm or correct me if I'm wrong about the queen sleeper sofa) ;).

As far as balconies, all rooms have one with the exception of a few turret rooms.

Ok this is an awkard question to ask. I've booked a Theme Park View froom GF, however for some reason i keep looking up the Polynesian. It just keeps catching my eye. We have very young kids who will be 6, 4 and 2. And believe me they are loud wild kids ( not bold ) just your typical hyper kids lol. I've been looking at pricing for our dates and we can get a lagoon view club level for the same price. Am i right in saying that these rooms are only available in Hawaii buildings.
Also if we have the free DDP, is there no need for club level food wise etc??? Im just wondering if this is best for my family as a resort.

GF and poly are both great resorts, and great for kids. When are you going? There is construction going on at the poly for quite some time. The CL rooms are all in Hawaii. You would not "need" DDP if you are club level, however, DDP only includes 2 meals a day so you could have breakfast at the lounge and your other two meals on the DDP. DDP also does not include appetizers, and they do have hors d'oeuvres in CL. It will likely be too much food overall but not a complete waste. I am not clear on the rest of your question, though- are you worried that your kids are too loud for the GF and better suited to poly CL? Personally, I would be more concerned about my kids' ability to behave and have appropriate volume in a CL lounge more so than just walking around a resort (but my apologies if I am misunderstanding your question!). Anyway.... both resorts are great and you can't go wrong with either choice.

Im just thinking loud around a resort in general. I dont think i would use the club level. We have full DDP included. Just wondering if the amenities would be better for kids in Poly. Like pools. I think i heard they also have a kids club, and Dole whip lol. Ahhh decisions decisions, not sure what to do really.

Our deluxe room after refurb had the typical daybed, just like the standard rooms. Our king deluxe in the main building had a sleeper. It is my understanding that the deluxe rooms just replaced the sofa with the daybed sofa. The occupancy on the deluxe rooms is now 5 , since they added the daybed while the king deluxe is 3.

The deluxe room we had in July right after reno was still for 5 with a daybed. The King Deluxe in the main building is occupancy of 3 even though it has a sleeper sofa in the turret rooms. King Deluxe is occupancy of 3 because they cannot guarantee that you will get a turret room. The king deluxes on the 2nd floor are standard size rooms with king and daybed. Would be nice if they bad the turret king deluxe bookable for 4, there is even enough room for a rollaway in those.

Since I have not been in all the deluxe rooms, I don't know if any have a sleeper instead of the day bed. However, I have a neighbor with 4 year old triplets and a 6 year old and they would not let them book the deluxe room for this summer they ended up getting two standards.

I agree and wish they would just let you book turret rooms separately!

And looks like Trisha arrives the 23rd (my bday!) and I arrive the 19th! Wonder when mommyrosa arrives?

i'm there through the 26th.
I'm planning on a resort day on 23rd. Have an ADR breakfast at FT W then hanging our at pool. Weather permitting!
We should plan on a birthday drink at Trader Sam's :-)

I sent you and Beth a PM. Mommyrosa I think leaves on August 20? I arrive at Poly on Aug 22

I am sadly going to just miss you, as I don't arrive until the 28th. Darn!

Congrats!!! Can't think of a nice place to celebrate those milestones!! :cloud9: Be sure to have the celebrations noted on your reservation...:thumbsup2

Not a dumb question at all...:goodvibes...For a while the deluxe rooms did not have day bed....therefore there were only enough beds for a party of 4..The day bed has replaced the sofa that did not pull out..so..the larger deluxe rooms can accommodate a family of five..which really makes more sense...the standard rooms all accommodate 5....and they are smaller than the deluxe rooms...Deluxe queen or king rooms that are CL in the main building have a different configuration and CL deluxe queen rooms are not..for some reason.. even available for booking on viewing on line....

I am going to look through my pics...but I am pretty sure that the queen deluxe rooms in the main building now have a sleeper sofa same as in the deluxe king rooms...but I guess that they are still considering the sleeper sofa only enough additional sleep space for one other person....since there are no rooms outside of the suites that have increased their occupancy limits beyond 5....??

I'm planning on a resort day on 23rd. Have an ADR breakfast at FT W then hanging our at pool. Weather permitting!
We should plan on a birthday drink at Trader Sam's :-)

I wish that I was going too....Can anyone squeeze me into their room...I wont take up much space :crowded:..I promise!!! ;)

Liz Thanks for sharing yet another beautiful picture! :goodvibes ....

MickeyNut I didn't realize that the outer building deluxe rooms had a sleep sofa...I thought that it only had a daybed...Good to know...:thumbsup2

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a fab Friday!! :cheer2: preppy GF gal who has added and AK charm to my growing collection of Pandora charms!! ..I needed it! :thumbsup2 lol....

Hi everyone! It's been 3 years since my last WDW visit where I stayed at the GF and enjoyed every second of it. I discovered Disney Cruises in the interim so haven't been to WDW in a while, but planning a 6-night trip in July with my BF. Originally we were going to book the Contemporary, but then decided to splurge on a Club Level Deluxe King Room at the GF in the main building! I'm waiting to hear back from him before I finalize it, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone here has stayed in that type of room before and can maybe share pictures, or recommend that we request a specific room? Or if you just want to gush about how great it is, I'd love to hear that too! I'm so thrilled to be going back!
