Great pic Dispro ! I miss that unobstructed view...

Tried to upload my pics of the TPV room view...but it seems the file is too big!??? :sad2:...

Happy Mothers Day everyone!!! My mom and I just decided on the GF for a 3 night stay at the end of Sept!!

First time for both of us. We booked a lagoon view but I am now concerned with that choice. Can you see the electrical boat show with that view?? How about the fireworks??

I can't answer about LV rooms, but wanted to say congrats on booking your first GF stay. The GF is a great resort and I'm sure you and your mom are going to have a great time :goodvibes.

Here is a review of our split stay at GF and BC club level. Out total stay was 9 nights with 5 GF RPC standard and 4 BC CL water view.

Thanks for your review :). I'm sorry that your BC CL stay wasn't a very pleasant one. We've stayed at the BC before (not CL) and while CL was on our list to try, it has quickly come off the list due to the amount of negative reviews lately. We enjoyed our BC stay years ago, and even though we prefer the MK area, BC CL was always one I wanted to try, but now I have no desire to do so with all of the not-so-good reports lately :(.

BTW, we love Denny and Vonnie too:)

I don't know Denny, but I love Vonnie too...she's great :goodvibes.

i recently had my second stay at BC and while this stay was not CL (the first stay was), i once again did not have a good experience.

I have been reading reports like this more often than not lately :sad2:.

My DD11 loves the cookies!

I love the cookies too!!! ::yes::

I can never get enough of the lemonade, either...lol.

TA just emailed me that space at SL with Free Dining for my booking in the fall opened up and she applied the discount! :cool1:

:banana::banana:

We had a lovely time!!! 1/2/14-1/5/14

Very nice pic :goodvibes.

I am so excited!! We will be staying at GF main building theme park view club level for the first time this summer. Does anyone know which floors these rooms can be located on, and also if any are dormer rooms? I can't seem to get a definitive answer from a Disney CM. If there are any specific requests anyone suggest I make I would be happy to hear.

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on booking your first GF RPC stay :flower3:. I can't answer your questions, but there are quite a few very knowledgeable posters on this thread that will hopefully be able to help :goodvibes.

She just went back to school today! On Mother's Day, I had to take her back to the doctor, and they wanted to test her for mono! She freaked out because she is afraid of needles, so we decided to give it a few more days... Good thing because she's ok now:) Yay! NO MONO! We would've had to cancel our BC trip! I'm SO ready for that trip...even if it isn't the Grand

Glad your DD is feeling better and is back to school :).

And just to brighten everyone's day....

Beautiful pic :cloud9:.

Is there any TPV on the ground floor does any one know? Considering switching to be able to see wishes but I'm not sure it's worth it if I cant be on the ground floor. Thanks!

MickeyNut Thank you for quoting this post...seems Jenn9 and I were posting at just about the same time...and I missed this post...

Jenn9 Congrats on your first GF stay!! And what a first stay ...RPC TPV! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2..Wow!! ....These rooms can be located on the 3rd or 4th floors...and for location reference are in the section of the building right above Gasparillas...they over look the marina. ..and the vista further out to give you a TPV....The room the very farthest from the lounge is 43/4401...and closest would be 43/4409 I think....these rooms are down a long corridor. ..and are the furthest from the lounge/club level areas in general...so even 43/4409 is not too close to the hustle and bustle...no worries though...the far is not too far of a walk....Nothing is nicer than sitting out on these balconies..and getting to watch Wishes! :cloud9:...Simply Grand!:goodvibes

ShayBells There are indeed 1st floor room in the TPV category...I believe these are available in Sago Cay, Conch Key and Boca Chica...HTH...:flower3:

omg i have paid extra to guarantee a TPV room in Boca Chica, lets hope i get an unobstructed view. It was nearly a grand extra.....

DH wants me to think about cancelling the GF and book a 2 bed at OKW instead. I think he would prefer the space, but to be honest with 3 young kids under 5 we will be spending most of our time at Magic Kingdom, doing both MNSSHP & MVMCP events, we will be eating at 1900 Park Fare, the girls will be booked into Alice Tables in Wonderland, they will be going to BBB etc. So i think alot of our time is going to be spent in that direction. Only thing is the room. Where do we put all our luggage bags, clothes, all the gifts & toys the kids will get while there etc. and can we get a bed rail for the day bed etc etc. Then i see the space of OKW...

Staying in the monorail loop with small children is much more convenient! Personally, I would give up the TPV if you have to to get a bigger room in the loop. What about booking a deluxe room?

Does anyone here have any comments or reviews regarding the pools at GF? DH and I have stayed at YC/BC for our last four trips and are considering GF, but I would love to hear what GF fans have to say about the pools!

Hi I see that the resort monorail will be having less hours this summer on some days. It looks like it will not start until 830 am. We have a couple of early morning reservations at Mk. Will there be boats running earlier? Extra boats? Thanks!

No worries...there are definitely rooms with unobstructed TPVs...just an reminder...I have always said that the GF does its best to accommodate guest requests..I would not have the expectation that you will definitely be placed in Boca Chica...Cnch Key and Sago Cay also have TPV rooms....

The convenience of staying at a monorail resort if you have a trip that is centered around the MK particularly with young children as Dispro said is really wonderful...and I agree with the suggestion that if extra space is an issue a deluxe room would give you that..be about $60 night less than a TPV room! Something to think about...:thumbsup2

A deluxe room is the size of a standard room plus an extra sitting area that includes a chair, daybed, coffee table and an extra television too..a nice bit of extra space for a family to spread out in...these are part of the turret area in each building...which gives the rooms the bump out...and I think all have either courtyard or marina views....There are quite a few pictures of this room category on the WDW site...and a few here as well....

:thumbsup2 Sage advice! I couldn't agree more!

Who wishes she was at GF right now?? This gal!!! ::yes::

And probably everyone else reading this post - LOL! What a loooooooooooooong, frustrating week! But, I take solace in knowing only 5 more days until I hit the 180 day mark for ADRs!!! :goodvibes

Me me me!!!!! :dance3:..sorry that you are not having the best week.... FIVE days till that 180 day mark:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:..definitely a good pick me up!!!

buzzmom In the past if the monorail has been running with reduced hours there has been alternate transportation available :moped:..such as early morning boat service over to the MK...:boat:

mrsclark The GF has 2 pools...one is considered the feature pool..aka the beach pool...has a water fall and a slide too..there are also cabanas located at this pool....there is also a courtyard pool...no slide or water fall...but also a zero entry...while I don't think that either pool equals the grandeur of the SAB..they are both appealing...our kids were always fans of the slide and the waterfall...and we have always enjoyed the opportunity to bring the kids over to the courtyard pool area for a more low key pool experience too...:goodvibes
