Thanks for the get well wishes for my DD, Loveshak and Blue. Spring came late but with a vengeance, so her Oak tree allergy caused a pretty nasty sinus infection. She's been on antibiotics since Tuesday but still had fever today! Crazy! We pay a ton of money for private school, and I basically homeschooled her all week...and failed miserably! We only have one week of school left and she's so behind! Ugh...if I can just make it until vacation!

Oh that does sound tough! That's a serious sinus infection to be on antibiotics since Tuesday and still so sick. Poor girl! Hopefully each day from here on out shows marked improvement!

And good job with the homeschooling - LOL! My parents have custody of a, now, 15 year old and I've had to help her with homework over the years when I visit and it's amazing how much we forget as we get older (at least for me)!!!

Happy Mothers Day everyone!!! My mom and I just decided on the GF for a 3 night stay at the end of Sept!!

First time for both of us. We booked a lagoon view but I am now concerned with that choice. Can you see the electrical boat show with that view?? How about the fireworks??
 
Good morning! This thread is a wealth of information. I love it.

I did my online check in this morning :dance3:and I didn't fill out any requests since I gave requests when I made the reservation. Does anyone know if they will stay on the reservation or cancel since I did online check in without requests.

Wow... I hope that makes sense to someone here.

Your requests will stay on your reservation. If you want some added piece of mind, call the Main Reservation line about 5-6 days prior and ask the CM to read any room requests that are on your reservation. :thumbsup2

I asked this earlier and I didn't see an answer yet (if I missed it - sorry!!), but if you check in online do you still meet a CM in the lobby and go to the CL check in desk or do you get your room in advance and go straight to your room with your magic band?

Sorry, I've never stayed CL so I don't know the answer. Hopefully somebody who has will chime in.

Thanks! Do you know if for non-CL do you have to go to the desk or do you get a room assignment in advance and then get in your room with your magic band - that's pretty cool if it works!

With online check in there are 2 possibilities. If you are eligible for the "Bypass the Front Desk" program rolled out about 2 months ago you may get a text/email with your room number once it's ready, even if you haven't arrived yet. To be eligible, the following have to have happened.

Complete online check in
Be paid in full
Provide a Credit Card during online check in for room charging
Provide a US Cellular number for receiving text or provide an email address
Provide an estimated time of arrival during online check in

If you meet the above, and your room is ready you could receive the text/email at your home airport, when you board the Magical Express or when you arrive on property if driving. If your room is not ready when you arrive on property, you should receive an email/text stating that your room isn't quite ready yet. You should then receive one later when it is.

If you don't receive anything, there is an online check in section at the main check in area.
 
We spent Easter at GF and BC with a split stay. I will be back with a review when I have more time. We spent five nights RPC standard and 4 nights BC club level. I will post the review together most likely here and I guess on the club level thread.

I posted a few pictures of Easter resort events while there and will try to post more with the review. I will mention that we had a great stay at GF and enjoyed the food at BC but the service at BC was the worst we have encountered anywhere. On the club level thread several recent BC guests mentioned seeing irate guests yelling at CM's and while I would never do that or think it acceptable we saw the same thing and I can only say when it happens that many times there is obviously a problem beyond just the guests. Anyway will be back with a detailed review.

Thanks for the info dansdad! It seems like if it works smoothly that'd be an awesome way to checkin! Avoid front desk lines and get straight to your room!

Maybe someone can share how it works with CL and if it's the same? I wouldn't mind it if it was that way for CL as well since they could put the info for CL offerings and hours in our room. I only stayed CL one other time and can't remember much else besides our welcome cocktail anyway.

For almost all of my cl stays at any resort they have met us getting off the ME bus. For cr, poly and wl we were escorted to a cl desk for check in. At gf 2 times we were escorted directly to our room for check in (if room is ready they do in the room). The other 2 times we were escorted to the cl desk.

One cl at CR with new streamlined checkin they met us getting off bus with a tablet. We did check in right there and got room ready text later.

Our 1 cab stay and 1 transfer where we took the monorail from MK we knew to alert the valet's that we were checking in club level and they called for an escort. (Gf and poly).

I always do online checkin, and always send an email to IPO.

We don't do online check-in because we want to make sure we are happy with the room assignment...not that we are guaranteed to get exactly what we want, but if we are completely unhappy (like if they tried to put us on the 2nd floor of the main building) we assume it's easier to point that out to the CM that has greeted us at the hotel. Like Trish said, if the room is ready, the CM will check us in there. Otherwise, the CM will take us to the lounge to check in and they will text us later with the room number. Personally, I like being greeted by name and escorted to the room or lounge...it just means your vacation has "officially started!" :)

Uh-oh...not happy to hear that about BC! I'm getting so confused because we had such a great time there last spring! I agree with you on the yelling thing...what does that accomplish anyway? If there is a problem, why not ask to speak to the manager?

Because the manager's did not want to speak with anyone. I actually heard a comment during a phone call about another guest that the CM just needed deal with it.
 
Oh boy! I guess I'm glad I switched our split stay to the Poly and GF instead of BC! Not cool!:mad: I wouldn't yell but I would let a manager know immediately!:chat:
