Hi all! We'll be staying at the GF for the first time in December, in order to take in the Disney Christmas splendor, and I'd like some help on a room request. We booked through a travel agent and just booked an outer building garden view room. Any suggestions for a specific room or area I might request that I would have a shot at getting? Thanks!

Hard to get a bad location at GF. The resort is small so no area is far away. I'd take a look at the resort map and decide what area you prefer. At GF standard garden view includes views of pool and marina.
It's a personal preference. Some enjoy the marina view. And I'm sure it's nice. My pref is a pool view in either Boca Chica or Big Pine Key. I usually stay at GF during August and prefer to be by the pool. In those buildings you are by the Courtyard Pool (and hot tub) and a short walk to Beach Pool.

Someone on another thread said this is the NFL Pro-Bowl week/weekend and that Disney puts a lot of players/families of players at GF along with special events. Not sure if accurate??

I am at GF right now for the princess races and to celebrate my 40th birthday. It's my first stay here and I am in love. I already have plans in the works to stay club level for next year's princess weekend. I'm not going to the parks much and this place is perfect for resting my feet and legs between races. I read for two hours outside by the water yesterday and it was just so peaceful. All the CM here have been amazing. It's going to be a sad day when I leave to drive home on Monday.

My last trip I didn't go into the parks hardly at all. Never missed it because I had the GF and all its splendor to keep me busy or not. I love this resort. You are right, Bree, peaceful it is!

Hello GF friends! From what I remember about Basin is that not all products that are available at the GF and Disney Springs are available on-line. I tried to purchase the pink sugar soap with the pink and white mickey ears on line, and it was a no go. I had someone who was at Disney buy it for me and bring it back. Also, the person who did buy it for me said that it was only available at one of the stores at Basin. Unfortunately, I don't remember if it was at the GF or DS.

I was told from Basin on more than one occasion that all Disney Basin products can not be purchased online.

I did not see the Gone Mad Tea Party on the February recreation schedule - does anyone know if they are still doing this? Was hoping to attend next month

We were there I think it was Jan 25. They didn't have any desserts and said that was the last party until March.

I don't see anything in the March recreation schedule, either If anyone is there now, or checking in soon, and could ask I'd be much appreciative. We were hoping to attend later this month. Thank you!!

Well many love "Hermione" so Disney is smart to borrow that fan base from HP. I can't wait to see it.

It will be fun , all the shoppes will have belle things and gf usually has lots of good stuff to choose from.

This year I believe the NFL rented the entire Four Seasons for the Pro Bowl - maybe they are moving to the GF DVC for this year!

The cold weather is making me dream of the Grand even more then I normally do!!

Love all this talk about Beauty and the Beast...we love Emma Watson and I love Dan Stevens (Matthew) from Downton Abbey, besides the rest of the amazing cast. I already have my tickets for the Saturday evening, I have never pre-purchased tickets before...

LoL Cold here in Jersey as well. 21* w/out wind chill. 74* like what they're experiencing down in WDW would definitely hit the spot.
