Not long for you Trish for Poly! I was tempted to switch our first few days to Poly CL, but didn't want to do split stay, and with my one daughter only staying 5 days we have a packed sched for her, so staying put!
It is a great place to visit! Maybe get a dolewhip or meal?

One of these years we will be there at the same time!!!!

Hello everyone- Just introducing myself on this thread. I will be staying at the Grand Floridian in mid December. We were lucky enough after many calls (and driving the poor CM crazy) to find a club level room on the monorail route during our preferred dates. We will be staying in the Sugarloaf building. We have never stayed club level anywhere before so I figure if there's a place to do it, it's there. It's our first time staying at the grand. I remember as a child going to Disney for the first time and passing by on the monorail and being told that the Grand Floridian was the best of the best and I got it in my head that someday I had to stay there and many many years later I'm lucky enough to be staying there with my kids so it's an awesome feeling. I've heard some negative talk about sugarloaf, but I'm hoping it's just people who have extremely high standards and that it's really as wonderful as I dreamed it would be, even if it's not rpc or the main building lol

Hi all,
First post here on GF thread, super excited for my family's first stay in November! We have booked lagoon view, and based on so many positive reviews will probably request Boca Chica. Thank you to all who keep this thread up to date...We have learned so much :). Wanted to check in and ask any recent visitors about the monorail schedule. We are rope droppers so are most interested in early morning runs, and contingency plans when it's not running. Can anyone share their experiences for us? Or news about upcoming schedule changes?? Many thanks in advance!!

We will be staying SL for the first time in late September and hope we enjoy it as much as previous stays in RPC. It's going to be tough though, the GF has been pretty good to us and our last stay will be hard to top. We were blessed with an amazing upgrade last time. It seems like it's a little low key compared to RPC and low key is OK sometimes.

It is my family's first stay on site in November too, Lagoon view and requesting Boca Chica. Cannot wait!

I am exactly the same, passing by thinking 'oh wow, I would love to stay there one day'. Now we're booked for November for the first time, my children do not realise how lucky they are!
Soo excited....115 days 23 hours 39 minutes and 5 seconds

You WILL have an GRAND time! I prefer Sugarloaf over the Main building, which is a wee skewed from a so-so Main building stay. That said, the Main building is the Main building, gorgeous lounge views and the Orchestra which you won't find in Sugarloaf. What you will find are some lovely CMs, nice guests, excellent offerings, proximity to the Courtyard pool, Main building, and pretty close to the boat dock. The only CL that has surpassed GF so far is BWI. Be careful with those club level stays, you'll find it hard to stay any other way ;)

145 days for us! My kids pulled out our Disney countdown calendar (because doesn't everyone just have one in a drawer? Lol) and we made our paper chain the length of our banister. It was kind of depressing to know its so far but at least there's a date! My oldest son told me "mom, it's your dream!! It's happening" when he found out where we were staying. I hope he sees how special it is. They're both really excited but I don't think as excited as I am!

Ah, sounds lovely though. It's all these little countdown things that keep us going :teeth:. My children don't know where we are staying, we are keeping that a surprise. The whole holiday was meant to be a surprise but I just couldn't contain my excitement :rolleyes1.

At least with a longer countdown you can be sure of Christmas decorations :goodvibes

OMG, I'm in the same boat as you. This will be my first time staying in GF and CL. I hope it is all you dreamed of. :)

Counting down the days until we are back at RPC in a Deluxe King. Hoping and wishing we get one of the 6 turret suites! Put my written request in with IPO a few months back. Last year we were upgraded from a RPC Standard to one of the TPV Kings on the 2nd Floor (Clarendon Level.) I guess I'll have to reach out to the room assigner directly, just to better my chances. At any rate, it will be amazing to be back home.

We are thinking of staying at the GF next August. Did anyone get any great discounts for this August and if you don't mind posting how much a night?

I swept up the 30% off "summer" room package deal. I think I paid a little over $500 for CL.
July 25 - August 2. I believe the rooms are cheaper once the summer season ends.

We have the "Stay in the Middle of the Magic" deal (SL) for Sept 26 - 30 for the same rate ... AP discounts don't seem to be too available.

Good Afternoon fellow GF fans!

Welcome to all of our GF first timers :goodvibes ...CL or not...you are all in for a treat...GF is such a wonderful resort to stay at! From the lovely and manicured grounds .. to the welcoming lobby ..including the sounds of the pianist and the GF Society Orchestra every afternoon and evening :cloud9:...the nice collection of shops to browse..and maybe pick up a thing or two that you might need! ;)...watching Wishes from the marina area...all sooo very magical.....:wizard:

My two cents with regards to staying CL at the GF....having had the opportunity to stay both many times over the years...there are no differences in the amenities... the services..or the food and beverage offering in the lounge....the only difference is in the lounge itself...and while SL is in the lobby area of the building...which I think is a great convenience for grabbing a snack or a drink whether coming or going...and more like a small bistro...RPC does have a large spacious lounge overlooking the main lobby/atrium area....which also includes being able to enjoy live evening entertainment...very lovely...and relaxing....In summer ..we much prefer the convenience and proximity of SL to the courtyard pool...and the boat dock too...there are also tables that are close to the marina side exit doors and offer a bit of a marina view.. I for one happen to like the cozy feel of the lounge there...in cooler months we do appreciate the convenience of being in the main building and enjoying more indoor/lounge time..and the ambiance of an RPC stay....both very nice in their own ways :thumbsup2....I know that there are times that SL does not get a lot of love on the boards....but IMO....its a very nice way to enjoy the GF!

Congrats to all who were able to take advantage of the summer and fall offers..only thing better than a WDW trip...is one with a nice discount! :wizard:..

We just did some tweaking to our winter stay....booked the Candelight Processional Package....which I will be enjoying not only with my DD...but with one of my fave GF groupies pas...:goodvibes...and have turned yet another trip into a split stay ....have to admit...I am truly enjoying them...::yes::

Sue So happy that our trips will overlap.. am truly looking forward to getting to say Hi :wave2:

~Almost forgot to add this! Some happy FPP news to pass along. Living with the Land will now be considered a tier 2 ride...I personally..and I am sure that I am not alone... NOT a fan of the tiering of FPPs...and think that this will at least help to round out the FPP possibilities at Epcot! :thumbsup2

Hope that everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday....:earsgirl: preppy GF Gal..who is also a Boardwalk Babe :flower3: ...and possibly a Poly Princess princess:....
