When I log into My Disney Experience I can see both reservations since I linked them myself, but is that the same/enough or do I need to call back to the 407 number and talk to a person?

also, since I'm getting 2 sets of Magic Bands I'm assuming I need to use the first set of for the 1st night and then the 2nd set for the remaining nights?

I really hope we can stay in the same room - DH would not be impressed if we had to move - and would I mention that in my room request too??

thanks!

No, having both reservations linked to your MDE account is not the same. Call the main reservation line and ask the CM to link your reservations in the system as a continuing stay. I would make staying in the same room as your only request. When you check in for reservation #1 mention reservation #2 and make sure you don't have to switch tooms.

Both sets of Magic Bands will work for your entire trip.

Hi friends...I am at hour 42 at work :( 6 more to go. I was able to dig out my Jeep but I'm in need of a DISboards fix. Hope my other Grand friends are faring well in the post-Snowmaggedon madness!!

For the first time in a long time, my part of Connecticut was spared....we only got 6" where I live. My poor niece lives down in Silver Spring, MD, they had 24" more than I did. I hope you are finally home and safe, same for all my other GF friends that were in the path of this brutal storm.

Hey, Blueskies, what dance will I be doing tomorrow?

Tom

Sounds like a long 3 days!! Hopefully you get home soon!!!
I am officially off shift at 6pm and then I just have to stop and get some ingredients to make my son's birthday cake tomorrow. The big 1-5 ;)

I would call the 407 number just to make sure they're linked as a continuing reservation. Better to be on the safe side. Yes, and make sure it's in your request that you want to keep the room. And at check in go to the desk and request to stay in the same room again. They will be able to see if the room has been blocked off for your entire stay.

Your first MB will work for your entire stay.

Your niece and I are neighbors! We're in DC...I have no clue where all this snow is supposed to go???

Is @pas130 right - single digit dance? Fun!! :hyper:

I'm guessing a 48 hour shift means you are in a healthcare or emergency response type job? I bet you've been busy! Be safe getting home and Happy Birthday to your son! 15 is a big one...time for that learner's permit!

THANK YOU!! I decided to call 407 today and got a fabulous CM who linked both reservations together and made a note that the 2 reservations are continuous and we are requesting the same room for all 7 nights..so I feel so much better after that!

and we have no plans that first day except for the pool so I can stand there at check-in as long as it takes for them to confirm that we can have the same room.

and I guess I should also NOT do on-line check in before we get there, right??

You're welcome. :thumbsup2

There's no reason to NOT do online check in. Just skip the room request section.

Good morning, Grand groupies! Back home from a nice, relaxing visit to WDW. :goodvibes Tho we did not stay at the GF (Poly instead), we spent alot of time over there. The Poly was very nice, but we missed the GF the whole time. At least we had a quick route to the GF by monorail. :thumbsup2 Not so quick getting back to the Poly, of course, especially when you added in the oft-used traffic pattern hold, or maintenance delay. There were several of them. :faint: I do like the new lobby at the Poly; it eases congestion in certain areas, tho it is still somewhat crowded near the waiting area of O'hana upstairs.

We enjoyed the GF lobby each night, and there is a new pianist on Thursdays who really knows his stuff! Different style from the others; very lively~ The lobby was not really busy most times we were in there, even tho the hotel was at nearly full capacity, we were told.

I didn't realize that you could no longer walk up to some restaurants and make a ressie there. We had to go to the front desk. My brother-in-law was able to make one right at the desk at Whispering Canyon, but apparently you could not do that at the the Poly. :scratchin

One thing we really enjoyed was having a FP for the afternoon parade! I would do that again. Curbside seat right at the action can't be beat!! :thumbsup2

I didn't see any bounceback offers in the packet in the room, and did not call, since not sure we are going to DL again this year instead of back to WDW. Of course, I can always change my mind, or even do both....right friends??? :rotfl:

Know there is more to tell but my brain is foggy from a good sleep right now.

Thank you!! The kids have a snow day so we are loving life. Hot cocoa for all, and the birthday boy is ruling the roost!

Ah closer to driving...:drive::eek::faint:
And yes I'm a nurse :) I work in an ER, and also as a critical care transport nurse. So this weekend was an ambulance weekend of course. So I was either in an office, a garage, or the ambulance. Very happy to be home :)

Thanks..... We totally want to go.... Just not with the baby! ;) But I have a feeling we won't make it until 2018... I bet we go in 2017....
I will say that if you are going to vacation with a baby, WDW is the place to be :) I've done many trips with a baby or pregnant or both (I have a few kids ;) )

Welcome home. Can I mention that your post couldn't have come at a better time for me? I had a case of changer-it is Thursday night. Poly CL was back on the radar. DH threw BWI CL back in the mix. But the kids want GF. However, over the weekend I was dreaming of our Grand. So you have it, DH will just have to live with GF ;) So happy you had a relaxing trip!

I'm old enough to remember that John Travolta classic...Saturday Night Fever...cue the BeeGees......"you should be dancing, yeah, you should be dancing yeah...." It is time for the single digit dance!!!!!!

Tom

:dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:
:stitch::stitch::stitch::dancer:(sorry for creepy guy but he IS dancing). And in the words of Kool & the Gang...CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES< COME ON!!! party:

Thinking of booking a deluxe room garden view at the grand Floridian. The couch in the turet area is a day bed correct? All of those rooms have 3 separate sleeping surfaces?

Any buildings that are better then others with those rooms? Thanks! Never stay at GF before and pretty excited if we end up doing so.

Congrats..those deluxe rooms have a nice bit of extra space ( an extra TV and chair too)...and yes the "sofa" is actually a day bed.... All of the outer building are lovely...room recommendation would be based on what your preferences are...I personally would recommend Boca Chica simply because I like the location of that outer building...and the views of the courtyard and main building...there is a map on page one that would def help you with what you choices are...::yes::

Avery&Todd You are in for a treat...this is such a nice room category....and as others have said...all room with the exception of those on the top floor have balconies...and they all face the courtyard area with the exception of Sago Cay...which faces the marina...as is a bit further from the center of the resort..not my fave building...but def has it's fans around here... as I posted above..the map on page one wil lgive you a good idea of where each building is situated on the property... .BTW...love your ticker! Very grand!

Hi guys! We are about three months home from our GF ten day trip. I'm missing the GF and WDW. I'm having our second daughter in 4 days, so no 2016 WDW trip. My almost 5 year old and I are really missing it this year! We are spoiled!!!! She keeps saying "When we go to Disney World when I'm 5...."

Best of luck to you and speedy delivery! How nice that your older DD..big sis ..can look forward to introducing her baby sister to the world! :cutie:

I totally get your homesickness for the Grand Floridian! I just love the magically elegant lobby! Did you know there is a woman who sits in the lobby all day every day. I can totally understand why she likes it there.
Best wishes to you and your family for your new little addition in just a few days!

:lovestruc

That very nice lady that sits in the lobby is named Lynne...and has been there for as long as I can remember...

Actually it's just the top floor deluxe that doesn't have a balcony. The other 3 floors do have a balcony off to the side.

Absolutely correct! :thumbsup2 and the second floor rooms do have a balcony...but its enclosed...not the standard railing...as its part of the portico...still very nice but different....

Hi friends...I am at hour 42 at work :( 6 more to go. I was able to dig out my Jeep but I'm in need of a DISboards fix. Hope my other Grand friends are faring well in the post-Snowmaggedon madness!!

Wow pas that's quite a loooong day....You are gonna need a WDW vacation from working all of those hours...Disney logic my friend! ;)

For the first time in a long time, my part of Connecticut was spared....we only got 6" where I live. My poor niece lives down in Silver Spring, MD, they had 24" more than I did. I hope you are finally home and safe, same for all my other GF friends that were in the path of this brutal storm.

Tom

:woohoo: Woot woot...the SINGLE digit dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll do it with you!!!! :dance3:

We just switched from YC CL to GF-CL in the Sugarloaf building. What are best room types to request for the best views? TIA

There are two views in SL...Pool/garden or marina...so it really just depends on your preference....rooms with lower numbers 01 to 11 (marina side)and 02 to 10 (pool side) are closer to the side exit thats nearest to the main buidling and Gasparillas...12/13 thru 22 are int he center of the building..over the open atrium and the elevator...and the higher numbers are 24/25 and up are closer to the boat dock..and over look more of the garden area than the pool...HTH and enjoy your GF stay! :goodvibes

I'm old enough to remember that John Travolta classic...Saturday Night Fever...cue the BeeGees......"you should be dancing, yeah, you should be dancing yeah...." It is time for the single digit dance!!!!!!
