A couple of trips ago I found this set of hanging shelves and got two of them...they hang from the closet pole. I hung one set close up to the pole, and then hung the other set under that one...so I had six small shelves in the closet. There were three women in a small POFQ room, with only a few drawers, and this was a lifesaver. It folds up flat in your suitcase...I now never travel without it! Might help to get one or more of these since they seem to be take away the drawer space in the resort rooms...

Did my online checkin the other day for my upcoming trip. We have standard view CL. I really don't care much about room requests, don't need a big balcony or a daybed, but I would like to be relatively close to the lounge (don't know how big the resort is really). Anyway, I chose "close to elevator" thinking that would get me close to the lounge.
Is that correct?
Is there only one elevator?
(Firs BC visit though I was at YC like 20+years ago).

Thanks Rebecca!

I wish they had kept it - that was one thing I always said about BC/YC - tons of drawer space.
It is not easy travelling with two teen age girls - too many clothes!!! I think DH and DS could go for
a two week vacation with a bathing suit, 2 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts!

Looks like your next trip is getting close - can't wait to hear all about it.

Robyn- I can only imagine all those girl clothes. Men do pack differently for sure! Yes, we have appreciated the storage in the past at BC as well. The new dresser has more storage than the old one and the nightstand has a couple of decent drawers. However, think we are going to miss the drawers in the entryway this upcoming trip. Loved those drawers and location.

:thumbsup2Yes, good request to be close to the lounge. The main set of elevators are the only ones that go up to the 5th floor (club level) and they are right outside of the lounge entrance.

Ticket Alert!

Hello everyone! Just a quick post to let you know that tickets for the holiday events (Halloween and Christmas parties) are now on sale. I just purchased our tickets to MVMCP for our upcoming stay.

I would much rather see the "snow" on Main Street than the snow that we woke up to this morning in our yard!

Thanks for the heads up!

:thumbsup2

Our trip is getting really close now. :yay: I just received this email from Disney Destinations

:woohoo:

We are going to they YC in June. It will be our first deluxe stay. Looking forward to it.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the June Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1

:cool1:

Well, I've been doing a little creative Disney Math. I know that you all will understand and agree that this is possibly the most satisfying type of math that one can do. Anyway, here goes:

We are going to be staying at the YC in June for 7 nights. We have 7 day park hoppers. I began to think about the fact that we have a week off in October for our fall break. I am a teacher, and my break lines up with my children's break. Well, I began to look into the cost of upgrading our tickets to annual passes, and it looked like it might be a good plan. THEN, I sent an email to that travel agency that shall not be named, and I got a great quote for 5 nights at the Beach Club with quick service dining. Well, what could I do??? I accepted the offer and we now have an October trip planned. If I plan this just right, I may even be able to squeeze in another trip before the pass expires. I love Disney math.

Dee, could you add me to the BOG list for Beach Club from Oct. 5-10, 2015? Thank you so much. Our trip to the YC in June will be our 4th at that resort, but the BC trip will be a first for us.

I love the practical application of math for important purposes like this!

I'll add you to the list.

We booked our upcoming August stay at YC with the agency that shall not be named & did not buy tickets either (at first). The only reason we are able to finally stay at the YC is because of the great price from the agency! We ended up adding tickets from them to our reservation because their ticket prices were even cheaper than Undercover Tourist.

:welcome:

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list for August, so I will add you.

Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking of staying at YC from 11/21 to 11/23, but I'm worried about the weather. This would be our first trip to BC/YC and we always wanted to hang out at SAB. Will it be too cold to swim and enjoy SAB? This is also our first trip during this time of year.
As Tarak suggested, the weather is really hit or miss once you get around Thanksgiving. I've been there the same time period (the week after T-day) three times and all three times the weather had not been consistent. For example, last year, we had 60s and some rain every day except for our one pool day when it got into the upper 70's and lots of sun. Take your swim suit and just be ready to be flexible. Who knows, maybe Mother Nature will give you five full days of sun and warm weather. It's been known to happen. Doesn't happen to me but I've heard stories about it. Sort of like this global warming and the snow that just came down in the New England area of the country. One never knows!

Thanks - I will definitely check this out!

I found them on Ebay for much less than the one in the link I posted at Bed Bath and Beyond..,between trips, they hang in my home closet and hold many treasures I don't have space for otherwise....:D

I was at WDW last year at that same time. The first day and a half were warm enough to swim, but then there was a big temperature drop, and the last couple of days were quite cold for central FL. In 2012, we went to WDW right after Thanksgiving and swam twice. So it's a gamble, it could go either way. But the pools are heated at least. :-)

We were just in room 5652. SV CL - closest room to the lounge- lovely view of the fountain at the entrance to BCV!

Add me to the list!

My husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this summer. The traditional gift is china. So, I decided to book a surprise adult only trip to Disney to take him to China during F&W. :)

We will be staying at the YC October 15th - 19th (which also happens to be his birthday weekend). This will be our first trip without kids and our first stay at a deluxe resort. I'm beyond excited.

The hardest part I'm having right now is planning this trip without a kid. I'm so used to doing everything that he wants to do - and working around his schedule - that I'm sort of at a loss.

Can not wait!

Kim

:welcome: Kim!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for your anniversary/birthday/child-free trip!

:woohoo:

The pictures of the original maps and old parking tickets are so interesting! Has everyone seen this thread about "Things no longer seen at WDW"? It's one of the best things on the Dis- other than this thread of course;)

Thanks for posting this.

Ok...I booked YC for the first time ever. We have stayed at AKL for the past five years straight for a total of 8 times since we often go two times a year. We love it. Now, I really want to try a new place, but my debate is, should I have gone with BC instead of YC? My kids will be 9 and 6. We love Cape May Cafe and the kids have always asked to go to SAB. They think it looks awesome. Are we going to feel like part of the action and YC or would BC be a better choice? I just don't know if the extra price will be worth it. Thoughts?

You will be fine at the Yacht Club!

:goodvibes:

Holy cow ... Jeanne, Bob and I just booked the Northern Europe Cruise on the Disney Magic on June 13th. We fly to Copenhagen on June 10th. Really excited and nervous too ... this is my first time in Europe.

Teena, that's awesome!!! I bet you will have a blast planning and researching this.

:cool1:

Only problem is that is during the time I will be in Florida (we arrive late on Monday June 8). Not that there was going to be much of a chance to get together since I will be herding to 12 teens and 4 other chaperones...

:scared1: (Help me!)

OMG!!! WE'RE COMING BACK!!! We were originally booked GF GV room but just switched to BC LV/PV room. I love GF but wanted to see new BC rooms (and we saved $800!)

Dee - add us to the Be Our Guest list. August 20 to August 31.

SO FANTASTIC!!!

I will gladly change your listing on the BOG ( have you there with the GF trip, so I just need to change and move your entry)- BC LV.

Let us know if you decide to book the Yacht Club.

As others have mentioned, there is a chance you will be able to swim, but you won't know for sure until the trip. Weather in November can be all over the map, even within the same week.

:)

Ha ha

That's ok. Last August was the first time I was ever in Crew's Cup!

Me, too!!!

Have a brilliant time Teena. You all deserve it. Can't wait to hear all:rainbow:

We got back home to Delaware last night after driving for two days, traffic was horrible. I also seem to be suffering from Leaving Disney Depression. Our first trip to the BC was outstanding. Beautiful new room on the 4th floor with a balcony and daybed and the best view ever in my opinion! We had room 4567, just perfection! Not sure when we'll be back again, this was our first trip to Disney in 7 years, but we are definitely not waiting that long! My husband was even looking at the bounce back offer and he was the one who was reluctant about this trip. When we do come back (hopefully in a year or two) we will be back to the BC. My kids, myself, and my husband were so impressed, no other resort will do! (Well, maybe GF, haha, but not on teachers salaries!) thanks everyone for all of your help and hopefully I'll be planning our next visit to BC soon.

great to hear you had a wonderful trip...why can't the time you spend there pass as slowly as the time does while you are waiting for you trip!?!?!? Seems time goes so much more quickly while you are there!!

Out of curiosity, what was the special discount with the Bounce Back offer? We're hoping to take advantage of one in the fall for a trip in 2016.

35% off! A few weeks were blacked out, but many viable options. We just can't afford it

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the BC. We wouldn't stay any other resort after our first trip to the BC for a very long time. Our kids still love it the best of all the resorts. :)

Does anyone know whether the bar section of Hurricane Hannah's takes the Tables in Wonderland discount?

I have heard but have not tried it out that Hurricane Hannah's (where you order hamburgers, etc.) does not take Tables in Wonderland but someone told me they used it at the bar next to Hannah's and they had a drink and food and they did use Tables there and they took it. This is all hearsay of course.

Also, I told someone I'd check about the Villas and as of today renovations have not started at the Villas.
