When we check into the BC mid-afternoon, I'd like to go to the Marketplace and grab some stuff for the next day's breakfast and some snacks. Is there likely to be bagels, cream cheese, PB, and/or fruit still available at that time of day?

These are available all day. You should have no problem getting what you need :)
Hi all, what do you think about BC for a family of 5 with small children? I'm think it would rock in terms of location and the pool. Has anyone stayed in a room with 5 (youngest would be 3 and could stay on the daybed or what have you).
We have stayed many times as a family of 5 though my kids ages span 2 decades (what can I say:rolleyes1). Love the resort and would find it hard to stay anywhere else now though we are back to being a family of 4 or 6 depending on how you look at it as eldest gets married this July:goodvibes

We have stayed with 5 and we will be staying with 5, even though my kiddos aren't small anymore. My 11 yr old son will sleep on the daybed. Location, pool, theming all awesome!

We've stayed at the BC with our family of 5 and the oldest always got the daybed, because, well, he was the oldest, and the only boy. The daybed is big enough for a full size person. :)

We got back yesterday We loved the resort and had a great time. The only issue we had were the beds... OMG - those were the most uncomfortable things. My husband who enjoys a firm bed was extremely unhappy with the bed. It kept me sore the whole vacation.. but I didn't care lol Unfortunately, I can't convince him to stay there again until they are done refurbing
I have to say that I have never had a bad sleep there at the YC. I've read posts about people who have gone home and ordered the mattresses that are in the rooms because they found them so comfortable. I will say that we sleep on a Temperpedic at home which can be a little more stiff than a foam top Serta. Maybe that is the reason why. I have slept on mattresses that were as stiff as a board and definately not liked them. Sorry to hear that you needed a little softer mattress than what they had. I guuess it really is tough to please all the people all the time. Glad to hear you had a great time otherwise.

Just popping in out of shear excitement! We just changed our December trip from a long weekend - to a week long vacation at Beach Club! We will be there from Dec. 26 - Jan. 2nd!! Can't wait to ring in the New Year there! Woohoo! Now, just to wait until this summer for our first official BC stay... and then follow it up 5 months later! SO excited!

We will be beginning April 4th so I will be ae to help then. My youngest is 3 and then I'll have my 9 and 12 year olds as well as my husband...getting excited for our first time!

Just want to say THANKS AGAIN for posting this!!! I have been using this resizing shortcut method or the past couple of days and it is awesome!

PS- so sorry that I have not been able to keep up on your trip report. If it is any consolation, I can't keep up on mine, either.

That's great! I love the shortcut! However, it hasn't helped me update my trip report for a couple weeks!

We will be staying at BC with 5 in June. I'll report back and let you know how it was. From others it sounds like it will be great...and yep, my 16 year old will get the daybed I'm sure. You're kids will love the pool!!

Just booked a 1-bedroom at BCV for 5 nights, Oct. 26-31! It is part of a split stay, and our first three nights will be in a BLT 1-bedroom. We have stayed at the YC before, and really loved it. There is nothing better than the Epcot resort area. I have read a little about the BCV rehab, and I hope that most of it is completed by the time we are there, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Our son is turning 2 on Oct 20, so we are happy to have the 1-bedroom so we can have privacy while he sleeps. I will scour this thread and read anything I can on the DVC boards, but I would appreciate any suggestions about room requests and/or activities around the resort for a 2-year-old. Can't wait for our trip!!!

I will be so very upset if I pay for this level of room and have that. I am so sorry you had to deal with that. :(

We are returning to BC after many years at GF and CR. All of our dates were not available for a last minute trip so we are splitting between GF and BC. Can anyone confirm if you can still use the door near 1501 to exit/enter towards IG ? If so, do you need your magic band to operate the door or a key card ? Thanks so much for your help.

Yes, the exit door close to room 1501 is very close to the International Gateway. The door is unlocked during the day and locked at night, after 11pm I think. Your MagicBand will open it. :)

Thank you for the suggestions regarding what to do the first day at BC. We will be arriving late afternoon into evening after driving all day from Georgia. It sounds like an evening by the pool and dinner at Beaches and Cream will be the way to go for us. :sunny:

We went last year with two adults, almost 10 year old, 5 year old, 3 year old and 11 month old. The baby slept in a pack n play, middle two shared a bed, and the oldest used the daybed. We loved it and the kids all had a blast at stormalong bay. We loved that we could all enjoy the pool area, the baby even liked playing in the sand and splashing on the edge.

In addition, being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was definitely worth it for us. Much easier to just push the strollers than load them on and off buses/boats, etc.

Also adding that we had a garden view room and we had a really great view of fireworks from our balcony which was fantastic. Our kids are early risers so we don't stay in the parks that late usually but they could watch from our room in their pajamas. Plus the 5 year old has hearing issues so being further away the fireworks weren't as loud and he could actually enjoy them :)

Anyone ever use AvaBabyCo on Etsy to get a custom bag? Im open to other suggestions. I like her crossbody bag, and one daughter and I will be ordering one each for the upcoming visit.

Where is the closest restaurant to get Mickey waffles besides the Cape May buffet?

Just wanted to clarify that I will be out helping Jeanne in her classroom from May 5th to May 21st. She asked me to extend the trip due to testing that was occurring that next week. I believe someone asked me about a date in May that I would be working and I said I would be there May 17th and 18th. Unfortunately I won't be back to work until May 24th and 25th.

So sorry we won't see you on out upcoming trip. We always end up at The Beach Club.
