Good morning! Happy to say we'll be joining you for a BC leg of our split stay from aug 28-sept 1. Love to be added to the BOG list ;). It's our first time at BC--- can't wait for the pool. We are leaving in two weeks for a "commando" style trip and I'm looking forward to this stay next year where my plan is to relax and enjoy the resorts more, esp with the hot weather in late summer. We are at BC first for four nights then four nights at the poly. Thanks for all the great info in this thread!

:cool1:

Enjoy your upcoming trip and please let us know if you have any questions about the Beach Club.

Happy to say we are returning to YC for our post-cruise in July! Only nights but it should make getting off of the ship that much easier! Can't wait! We were just there for 4 nights at the beginning of the month and just fell in love with it! July 11-14th - please add us to BOG! Thanks!!!

We just booked a last minute Christmas trip to the Beach Club. We will be there Dec.24, 2014 - Jan.1,2015. We are not staying club level, so what are the chances that the renovations will impact our stay?

OK, I just updated the Be Our Guest list from the past week. Please take a look to make sure I have your information listed correctly.

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

Time to get ready for work. Must bundle up in layers for the farm!

Speaking of updates, and temperature- Have you been reading along with updates on my trip report?

Hard to believe that just a few months ago I was bitc- um- complaining about how HOT it was on that trip.

I now have the links in each chapter updated so you can go right to the next chapter for binge reading. There are lots of resort cameos in the report and my latest update involves a chance encounter at an aptly named attraction.

Click on the link for "What Happens at the Beach Club" to read more.

Sales pitch over. ;)

Back to regularly scheduled resort programming.

My guess is that it is unlikely that the renovations will impact your stay. I don't know if construction will be going on Christmas week (probably), but I know that every effort is taken not to disrupt guests' stays while the work is being done. Areas being worked on will be taken out of service so that people are not impacted.

The biggest risk is probably if you are in a room below ones being renovated- work is done between the hours of 8 to 4 or 5 pm, so if you will be trying to rest in the rooms during those hours, and are near a room being renovated, it could be an issue.

Although unlikely, if you do get in that situation, you can request another room if one is available, however I suspect the resort will be pretty full that week so that will limit the likelihood of being able to change rooms.

Hope that helps.

:)

As far as the renovations are concerned, all "noise" work is done between 10 AM and 4 PM. However, they are working around the clock and "quiet work" is going on at all times of the day and night.

If someone gets a room that is impacted because of the renovations, just walk down to the front desk and tell them what is going on. You will be room changed and/or resort changed (if that is what you prefer and vacancies exist elsewhere).

Getting scared that club level rooms won't be done by Dec 3rd when we check in

After receiving a pin for 35% off room rates for spring of 2015, I was able to talk my husband into moving our April 2016 trip to May 2015! We plan on surprising our girls with the trip on Christmas. May 16-21 garden view at the Yacht Club. I have always wanted to stay at a boardwalk resort and am so excited to be having another Disney adventure.

This has probably been answered, but will the resort do something special for Christmas and/or New Year's?

Beach Club dreaming on this cold New England day!!

What I wouldn't give to be right here, right now!!

 Me too!! We are in the middle of a historic 3 day "weather event": 6+ feet of snow already with another 2-3 feet expected today. A large part of the western NY area has been snowed in since Monday. And residential streets not likely to be cleared for another day or 2. We got a year's worth of snow in 20 hours Monday to Tuesday.

We have a 3 night trip planned in January. Glad this is happening now & hope we don't get bad weather then.

:welcome: to this forum!

The Beach Club 5th floor club level is expected to reopen in early December 2014.

No renovations for YC scheduled until the BC work is done, so there should not be any planned work going on there in Jan 2015.

Please see the comments in a post above about some possible (normal) maintenance to parts of SAB in January, but nothing official has been released by the resort yet.

:thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

Thank you very much!!!

SAB renovations will not other us as much as the interior work, I think, so we should be OK!!!

Your help is much appreciated!

Are you in the band that got hit? Originally we got nothing and my brother and several friends were socked with almost 7ft in the first wave just a few minutes away:scared1: We got about a foot yesterday and last night.

My poor brother has a 10 month old at home. He started trying to dig out his driveway Tuesday morning in case of emergency and he just finished a couple hours ago and its still snowing 3 inches and hour! I have lived here my whole life and have never seen the likes of this. Any interested in the magnitude of this "event" should google the Buffalo local newspaper and click the link for the photos from the air....

Are there any worries about roofs collapsing, or are the buildings in the area built to withstand heavy snow? I know around here there are always problems with collapsed roofs when the snow gets more than three feet deep.

Hoping you don't have weather issues then, either. I have friends near there and the thought of that much snow makes me cringe. We've only had crazy low temps for this time of year.
