Thanks Rosebud123 and Dee for the advice on a Y&Y ADR! Between last night and this morning, a bunch of folks must have released reservations that they no longer needed.
I was able to get ADRs at Y&Y, Beaches & Cream, San Angel Inn, Spice Road, and Via Napoli.
I was so inspired by Ninja Mom's posting a picture of the Black Bart gang that I am bookending our MK day with breakfast at Kona Cafe and the early show at Hoop-Dee-Doo.
DH has left the entire trip itinerary (parks, FP+, and dining) totally up to me and wants it to be a surprise. His only request was to keep in mind that with BCV as our home resort, that we should be making the most of our location and dine “locally” as much as possible. I think I got that covered!
Thank you again for all the advice as to what to expect when scheduling ADRs. The stress is gone (at least until my first attempt at Fast Passes!
I was soooo tempted to make an ADR for the HDDR. We did it years ago. My sister would love the cheesiness of it, but she's a vegetarian. I know they'd have alternatives, but I figured we have enough scheduled. I don't want to do things to death. I loved Spice Road when we ate there. I want to try San Angel Inn at least once for the atmosphere.
I have to do this. What fun! I bet there are restaurants on there I've forgotten about. I highly recommend the food trucks at DTD. We loved them our last trip.I've been going to Disney for too many years. I got more of them that I thought I would.

Is that a SV room on club level? What room #? We are five and my wife is a little worried about a small room...we have DSx2, 10 and 13 and DD is 15. We will be staying SV CL in a couple weeks.

I LOVE that view!!! If you can see Spaceship Earth and The Land, even though it is a standard view room (parking lot), I consider it a Theme Park View!
Hope the stay is going well for you and for your parents.
PS- Thanks also for posting the subsequent pictures of the wear and tear.
The trip to Six Flags was good- thanks for asking. Much better than last year's trip, when I was the sole chaperone of 6 boys, 3 riders and 3 non-riders. It makes it really difficult when the wait times for some of the coasters is more than an hour and the kids don't have phones to contact you when they are done. This year, I had another friend chaperone with me, and 10 boys total. 6 riders and 4 non-riders. Weather was also near perfect. Overcast, not too hot, not too cold. And I rode with 3 other friends instead of taking the school bus. That was a nice luxury for the 2 1/2 hour ride each way.
Can't wait to hear about your dinner at Boathouse! Menu looks interesting.

Some of you (Harry Potter) fans may have seen the O.W.L. I created for my son's Wizarding World-themed birthday party a few years ago because I posted it in my trip reports. One of the subjects was "Foreign Language" where you had to translate British words like snogging, trainers and bonnet. There was also a Spelling section (spelling doesn't count). Expeliarmus!

Finally managed to upgrade our Boardwalk Villa to Yacht Club Garden View for our late engagement celebration
We are staying 24th August until 29th August. I am already bouncing off the walls.

This is room 5692 - SV CL. Extra square footage is very nice, however, does not have a full balcony if that is important to you. We have truly appreciated the extra square footage for this family stay.

Lost Submarine Memorial
This marker to lives lost in submarine disasters has a personal meaning for my family. My dad worked at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard for 30 years. He was one of the engineers who worked on the Thresher submarine. He was scheduled to be on board for a test dive, but one of my dads coworkers wanted to go in my fathers place.
Over 50 years ago, on April 10, 1963 the Thresher submerged and never resurfaced. The 129 casualties is the largest number of lives lost in a US submarine disaster. To this day, my dad attends the annual memorial service and has often been the escort for his coworkers widow and family.

Hi we will be at the YC at the end of this week . Unfortunately for this trip we only have a standard view room
Are there any sections you would recommend to request that would be the lessor of this categories evils? Higher floor...a certain wing...close to lobby etc??? We will be doing quite a bit of Star Wars Weekends, so I expect to be walking to HS in the EARLY pre dawn hours- is there somewhere closer I should request for this(for exiting, pathway etc).
Also can you request a microwave, based on availability?
The last time we stayed here (several years ago)it was for 3days before our 7day POP reso. I think we had a Garden View booked, but somehow we ended up family of the day and were upgraded to Club Level Waterview!!!!I don't see that happening again for this trip
....

Last nights YouTube viewing (yes it's what I do on my nights off ) was the new Poly Pool and SAB, can I say how excited we are for SAB!!!! My DD8 (soon to be 9 next week) promises to come back with full reviews comparing SAB and Hard Rock slides! HockeyMom living vicariously through you! Also missing our NinjaMom
I for one will not do the Golden Spoon, it will show like 30 restaurants and I've been to WDW so many times that shows how boring we are LOL
