My 24 1/2 year old son (2LT in Army) still has his Woody doll and the Genie lamp on display in his room at home. Never too old for Disney!

Glad to see Aria looking so well and on her way home!!

Aww - that's sweet. I was surprised how badly she wanted that Woody doll. Fortunately, I think everyone wins at hospital bingo.

Everything seems to go right back to Disney. If she likes Woody that much, do I need to look at a meet and greet? I'll have to see what's available at HS since we'll be just a boat-ride away.

On my first trip to WDW with DS many moons ago, Woody & Buzz were the first characters we saw. It was unplanned as we were walking in HS in the NYC street, turned the corner and there they were! As a bonus, they were accompanied by two Green Army men.

Speaking of, I hope the picture above isn't too off topic. I was posting from my phone and thought it would be at the end, but apparently not. This is my youngest leaving the hospital today with the Woody doll she won playing bingo. She wanted that Woody doll soooo bad.
Your daughter is adorable. That was a really nice Bingo prize that she won. It is nice that she is finally home again. :)

Love this tarak! Can't be off topic with Baby Girl. We are family!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I am sure I will be on these boards a lot in the next 15 months as we count down to our trip.

Pinkgirl - we are also at RPR before BC! From 18-21 August!
I'm so sorry for your loss. Glad you've decided to go to WDW, and you'll love RPC! Plan on spending lots of time there. We loved their mid day offerings. The trifle was so good. And in August you'll want a mid day break. We also loved spending time in the lounge at night, enjoying evening offerings and listening to the lobby piano or quartet. There's a nice deck on 3 Rd floor we enjoyed watching the Electric Water Parade from..
And BC is amazing!! SAB is the best pool on property. The lazy river is my fav section, floating along on my pool noodle!

So glad to see your wee dote is getting home Tarak and delighted she won the Woody doll :). Wishing you much health and happiness for the whole family :)

I am so sorry for your loss and hope that you have an amazing upcoming vacation. I don't know what sites you are able to book through in the UK/Europe, but when I search the dates you have listed, there are garden view rooms available at BC as well as at YC. I saw BC rooms on Orbitz.com and Travelocity.com and YC rooms on Orbitz.com. If you can book through either of these sites use promo code ONTIME for 15% off at Orbitz or promo code 15RMN for 15% off at Travelocity. Hope this helps.

Thanks sleepymouse, but at the moment we have a free dining offer for 2016 in the UK which I guess I wouldn't get through these websites. I'll just keep looking and hope to swap.

@IHRTWDW I am laughing sooooo much right now. I had to look closer on your countdown ticker because it looks like Snow White is holding a machine gun! :rotfl::rotfl2:Oh goodness, I need more coffee...

We ran into Buzz once at MK when we weren't expecting it. And my daughters once ran into Belle in Epcot/France. She was wearing her blue dress - my kids like the blue dress best. The unexpected encounters are my favorites. Maybe because they don't happen that often anymore. I know easyWDW goes through the M&Gs that aren't too time-intensive. None of my kids have been willing to stand in line for more than a few minutes for a character meet. I really don't want to start a new tradition, as much as I'd like to spoil my heart kid. For now, I think the plan will be to figure out which characters I'm willing to spend a FP on and which won't have much of a line.

As we got the discharge instructions, I realized our fortune in having this happen now rather than later. She can't go swimming for six weeks. Granted, there are worst disasters that could befall us. But I can't imagine taking her to the BC and not allowing her to spend time in the pool. We were supposed to go to the beach with friends beginning of June and we'll have to cancel that. Or maybe the rest of the family can go and I can just hang out at home with the little midge.

Ha ha ha! I see it! I saw someone else's snow white first and was like "that is clearly a bird", but when I scrolled down it very clearly DOES look like a machine gun. :rotfl2:

Like when we found Pluto by surprise, and DS had his beloved Pluto stuffed animal ready to go:

Checking in from the Beach Club! Been here since Sunday in a gorgeous new room on the 4th floor. Third floor construction is going on right beneath our rooms, but except for some compressor noise now and then, I haven't seen any evidence of it.

The new rooms are even more beautiful than I expected from seeing pictures, but I don't understand the utter lack of drawer space. I hope they're re-thinking that for the YC refurb.

Two bummers about this stay: Long black SNAKES in the bushes around the courtyard--lots of them! I'm sure it's no biggie to a native Floridian but this NJ girl is snake-phobic.

Second bummer--big private events for a fuel conglomerate taking up the beach between the pirate ship and the quiet pool laundry room. The whole walkway is cluttered with service vehicles and supplies and workers and all sorts of junk since yesterday morning, and guests can't access the beach. No movie at night, either. The view is ruined and last night's attendees were loud, rowdy, and not very nice. Tonight's our last night and I expect more of the same :confused3.
But it's still better than being at home!

Glad that you are enjoying the BC. I was really surprised to hear about the snakes, especially when I just walked through some of the courtyard bushes over the past weekend. I will know better next time!

This appears to be the group that has been causing disruptions... https://www.eastfuelconf.com/conference/agenda/ .

But, no worries; their conference ended mid-day today. So, enjoy yourself tonight!

I am hoping to capture some of that spontaneous feeling by doing Characterpalooza in October.

I've never seen them here before, either, and my son is always messing around near those bushes. They're trapping and removing them when they can, but they're quick snakes.

And yes, last night was Eastern Fuel Buyers. I don't know who the beach is blocked off for today, but they're making some kind of beach party setup there now complete with microphones and gigantic speakers :scared:.

Hope the conference wraps up and you can enjoy the beach once more. How come my trips for work involve staying somewhere in Bedford, PA and not WDW?

My thoughts exactly! I'd love a solo work trip in WDW! :flower1:
