Hi - did you figure out what KCW Room Only means? My Orbitz reservation says same thing (on MDE) - for a different resort. Didn't have that when I stayed onsite in January 2015 via Orbitz booking.

anyone figure out the KCW thing? SO tired of Orbitz screwing with my ressie, I will NEVER again use them. My whole reservation has already dissapeared once . I am staying at AoA and as of today it says KCW room only below it. When I finally got stuff straightened out from their dropping my ressie a week ago It did not say that KCW until today, and Yes, with them I check almost daily..... Please post if someone finds out what this means... Thanks!

I'll be staying at the Beach Club October 17 - October 23, 2015. This will be my first stay there in about 10 years. I stayed there multiple times in the early and mid-1990's. I'm sure there have been many changes since my last stay at the resort. I'm really looking forward to being able to walk over to Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival.

I just booked BOG for lunch online a few minutes ago... good luck!

Woohoo!! Just checked and scored a 1:15 on our final full day. We had a dinner ressie but lunch is way cheaper and we just wanted the experience without the dinner price. Anyone need an 8pm dinner ressie on June 17th? :)

By the way...normally ADRs can be booked 180 days out starting at 6am, but for some reason they began the BOG reservations at midnight last night. That kind of irked a lot of peeps turtles. Understandably so....

I had a room only reservation booked at Caribbean Beach Resort using a PIN code for May and it said the same thing. I have no idea what it means though:confused3

I got one for August 18th. Two different times popped up. There was also availability for the 19th. I preferred the dinner, but my sister and niece have never been there, so lunch should be fine. I really just think they'll love the interior and we'll be able to pick the room we want. I was too distracted last week to try very hard for dinner. Happy I got a lunch ADR.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that...now we can choose which room we want to eat in...yay! Well, depending on where we can find an empty table. We are close to just 100 days away!

I got a lunch ressie today for BOG and I wasn't even trying (was looking for an Akershus dinner) and just checking what was around for lunch.

Getting so excited! Leaving in 2 weeks and 2 days. My second visit and my goal this year is to meet Teena! We missed her last year! Suitcases are out. I need to get away from this bloody snow!

Thanks all for the BOG discussion. I am a little late for the party but got a lunch reservation for May 19. Late lunch 2:20 is all I could get but I'll take it

Yes thanks Dee. I think I will go ahead and book our trip, I think this awful weather isn't helping, its making me long even more for a Disney trip!!!!
Are there particular Pool View Rooms that are most preferred to others? I know requests are just that but I figure I would ask the experts on here! Thanks again

I think that if you book a Water View room, you could get either a pool view or lagoon view (I don't think they are separate booking categories. Can anyone confirm that?) So if you would prefer one of those you should request that (View of SAB, please or Lagoon/Boardwalk view). Other requests you may want to consider are room features or location.

Since you are YC, you do not need to request a full balcony. Do you want a daybed? High Floor? Low Floor? Close to elevator? Close to lobby/transportation/pool?

:thumbsup2

I have a standard room booked for four nights in August. I'm very excited about my first stay at the BC!!!

If I do online checkin, could somebody please tell me what requests I can make? I would really like a room with a balcony. Would this be a choice with online?

Will insert choices.

ETA- these are the options I have online checkin for each of the 3 resorts. Some of these may be outdated- I think a couple of months ago, a few people posted with recent options, but I'm not sure I ever revised the FAQ on the front page.

Beach Club 60 Day Check In:

Room Request Options- Choose 2 of the three listed:

Large balcony
Lower floor
Near transportation

Yacht Club 60 Day Check In:

Lower Floor
Near Transportation

Beach Club Villa 60 Day Check In:

Room Request Options-Choose 2 out of the four listed:

Near Elevator
Lower Floor
Woods View
Larger Balcony

:)

If you have recently used the online checkin for the BC/YC or BCV, can you post the options you were given so that I can have accurate info on the front page?

Thanks!

Please add us to BOG. We are staying at the Yacht Club April 25 to May 2. DH, DD11 and me. This is our first time at YC/BC. My DD does not know where we are staying just that we are going to Disney. She is a total water pool girl so I can not wait to see her face when she sees SAB for the first time. Counting down the days. I think we are upto 4 feet of snow here and it almost doesn't seem possible that we will be in Disney is 62 days.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

What a wonderful surprise for your daughter!

:cool1:

They had the chocolate croissants every morning at the Beach Club Marketplace when we went last May. I didn't check the Ale & Compass.

Can't remember if you have posted before, so :welcome:

Thanks for the info!

Do you have an upcoming trip?

:goodvibes

Is the Boarwalk en route from the beach club to epcot or is it a diversion? Just thinking about the logistics of picking up breakfast from there and going in to parks. Thx

:welcome:

If you have an upcoming trip to the resort and would to be added to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, let us know.

Others have responded to your question.

:woohoo:

We've been frequent visitors to Disney, and now with a son in tow, we're going less frequently and trending toward 1BR villas. GF and YC are our favorites, and the Poly is the only deluxe we have not stayed at. Our last trip we split our stay between Boardwalk and Wilderness villas. We liked both, but want to try something new. Could not get a villa at GF or BLT, and not as interested in OKW or SSR, and want to save Poly for the rehab to be finished. AKL is a little too remote for us for this trip.

So we currently have a ressie at BCV 1BR for mid April. We have a few concerns though:

While we don't have particular problems with the décor and theming at BCV, but after watching the podcast, we're a little bit concerned about the condition of the rooms on the BCV side. From the pics, the furniture looked a little worn, and one of the side tables looked like it was a little beat up from water stains. But is it really as worn out as they indicated? With our son and a friend of his coming with us we don't anticipate a lot of room time. But we've also come to expect a certain standard not only at WDW, but also hotels in general, especially when we're paying rack rate -- we're not going down the points rental road. . .

Guest relations confirmed there will be a hard goods rehab expected to start mid March, so that will be ongoing. If anyone has more info, could they share please. It doesn't sound like the extensive rehabbing like the BC standard rooms. but is that needed???

Are there really any views from the BCVs? We haven't stayed at BC in many years and I can't recall a lot of the layout. Seems like they are tucked into the woods so it's either a canal/parking view or woods view.

We love the location, and think the kids will love Stormalong Bay, so we're still leaning toward BCV. But I know we can get a discounted 1BR villa over at Boardwalk that's quite a bit cheaper.

Any thoughts, and in particular comments about the BCV room conditions? Are the beds/mattresses in good shape despite the furniture being a little beat up? I know some here have said things are a little worn, but so worn that you would never go back until it is rehabbed?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cheer2:

I will leave others answer your questions about the condition of the villas since I have never stayed there.

Just finished watching these and now I am totally freaked out about Captain's Grille:eek: We really enjoyed our breakfast there last summer and I have my DM and two DD booked to eat there while my DH and I go to Yachtsman. Has anyone been there for dinner recently? I had read a lot of great things about the dinner here, but now I'm totally rethinking this choice:confused3

Not sure if I have welcomed you here yet, so

:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming stay at the resort or just a visit to Yachtsman/Captain's Grille?

I had a wonderful breakfast there in August and had a great dinner (with Teena) and lunch in July 2013.

:)

We will be staying Dec 6-14 at YC. I'm thinking of changing to the BC because of the refurb that has just been done. Looking at the Disney website for reservations I noticed that the Deluxe CL rooms are cheaper ($25 per night) than the Water view CL rooms. I know that the Deluxe rooms are quite a bit bigger, so I'm a little confused why the price would be cheaper. Both offer water views and some have balconies. Any thoughts on why the difference in price? Its just me and my DH celebrating our 35 anniversary. Which one would you chose and why?

Only downside I can think of with the deluxe room is that they are not on the 5th floor with the lounge. Am I missing any other reasons why the Deluxe would be less desirable than a BC CL WV room? The views, maybe?

:scratchin
On a lighter and :offtopic: note:

On Friday night, I have agreed to take part in Ben's school variety show that I help run. Every year the teachers and staff at the middle school present a hilarious show where they sing/dance/perform for the students and families. A few of staff members have genuine talent, and the rest just have a grand time not taking themselves seriously. A few years ago the 8th grade science teacher (a male) performed "Part of Your World" in full costume. Last year the drama teacher and chorus teacher did "In Summer" and "Let it Go" in great Olaf and Elsa costumes. We have had tributes to KISS and an amazing choreographed performance of "Thriller"

It is a fantastic show and one of my favorite fundraisers of the year.

We didn't have as many acts this year as we have had in the past so I was asked to perform. I reeled in one of my good friends from our theatre group and we will be doing Hakuna Matata.

No worries! (Well, a few worries)

:rockband:

I'll see if I am able to get pictures or video.

Some of you are friends with me on FB. Please don't comment on my posts about the show. My appearance, along with that of my buddy John, are going to be a surprise (SHOCK) to his wife and my very good friend and their son. We don't want them to know about this in advance.

Hello, everyone!

While we were at WDW for the Princess Half weekend, I booked a stay at YC for September 4-7 for hubby and me! We will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary!

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the list!

Great celebration for your anniversary.

:woohoo:

We have stayed at YC twice now. We planned a trip for June 4-7 at the Poly (club level)- we are celebrating my daughter's graduation from high school and my graduation from college (getting my masters degree in music, woohoo!). With all the work going on there, however, I did not think that having to deal with all of that mess and noise on the quiet pool etc. would be a wise use of our hard earned $. We switched to Beach Club club level, and we are VERY excited! I think my favorite parts of the whole YC/BC resort are Stormalong Bay and the easy walk to Epcot. I am hoping the Club level is worth it, lol!

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Thanks! I think we'll just get a cab & take the monorail to MK afterwards.

I think that is a great call!!!

You mentioned you need a van since you have 5 people. Does anyone know if that is more expensive or the same as a regular car? I know I once took a van/taxi from the Poly to the BC and it was the same price that we have paid for a regular car.

:car:

So I'm thinking of staying at either BC or BW in April. My question is this

I like my room COLD. I recently stayed at All Star Sports and it was hot in the room. Coudknt get it below 70. Are the deluxes any different on how low it can go? Any "hack" to make it get to 65?

:welcome: to this forum!!!

Let us know if you end up booking at the Beach Club and would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list.

:cold:

Ugh! I booked YC for August and then read reviews and I'm worried I won't like it (reviews said rooms are tired and in need of refurb)

Should I try to switch to beach club? or stop obsessing?

It is so much money I don't want to be dissapointed in the room.

:welcome:

I think I read later in the thread that you did switch to BC. I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Hi - did you figure out what KCW Room Only means? My Orbitz reservation says same thing (on MDE) - for a different resort. Didn't have that when I stayed onsite in January 2015 via Orbitz booking.

Have I welcomed you here yet?

:welcome:

Still waiting to hear if anyone had figured out what "KCW" means...

:listen:

page 171-172

Thanks for the AC answer. Now. Is there any difference in booking with Orbitz?

There is a really great thread in the Resort Boards/Discount Forum- something like - Orbitz, hold my hand.

From reading that the main differences are

1) You must pay the entire cost of your trip up front, instead of 45 days out for a package
2) You can only book for 4 people, so if you have a 5th person, Disney must add them to the reservation after it is made with Orbitz.
3) Orbitz "owns" your reservation- you can get the Disney reservation number from them so you can make Fast Pass reservations through MDE, but I think room requests need to be made by Orbitz.

Read below for a related comment.

Thanks for the welcome, I have posted long ago but usually just read to stay up-to-date before our trips. We tried Beach Club for the first time last May because our family grew too big for WL and fell in love. So much that instead of sticking with our every-other-year WDW plan we're going again this year! We're staying BC - garden view April 22-28.

OK, I think I am caught up from the past few days on the thread. I have made updates to the Be Our Guest list. You know the drill- check it out to make sure I have your information listed correctly.

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

:listen:[/QUOTE]

finally, KCW seems to be internal code for price/discount purchased via agent. Per Disney wholesale office. Had to call orbitz, disney chat, disney reservations, and hotel direct too, all no help. Hope it is no biggie just a code as Manny said.

Hi all! Does anyone have an update on where they are with room renos at BC? I'm considering either WL or BC for our stay starting April 28. Just wanted to find out the likelihood of getting a renovated room. The room esthetic is a huge deal to us. Thanks in advance!

The room view we currently have booked is Garden View. I'm not terribly concerned about the balcony size but I'd like to have a balcony big enough to sit and enjoy coffee in the morning. Is this something you will get with Garden View? Also, is an upgrade to Water View worth the additional cost? Any input and opinions would be greatly appreciated. TYIA

Has it really been a month since my Disney Vacation? Say it isn't so. I've been downloading our Disney Photopass Pictures today and it reminded me that I was terribly remiss in my Disboard responses

That is amazing! I would love to get this lucky! :) Did you make any special requests in advance?

I did not.! I thought we might wing it in terms of requests as all I wanted was a large balcony. We got all of that and more.

So, so fabulous! What a wonderful start to your vacation..... I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on CL as we are staying there in March. Hope you enjoy every moment.... yay for pixie dust!:goodvibes

Staying on CL definitely spoiled us. It was definitely nice to have a continental breakfast each morning (though Oatmeal got old after a week), but it was much better than the offerings down in the Marketplace for something warm in the morning. The staff were wonderful and being able to get something to drink for most of the day was great. I definitely made a meal there more than once.

Wow!! Enjoy your fabulous upgrade.

We had a wonderful time. It's going to be hard not to stay on CL after this.

Hey everyone! It is official...we will be back at the Beach Club, June 21st-June 26th!:cool1:We are so excited!! Only 115 more days!!!
