On a lighter and :offtopic: note:

On Friday night, I have agreed to take part in Ben's school variety show that I help run. Every year the teachers and staff at the middle school present a hilarious show where they sing/dance/perform for the students and families. A few of staff members have genuine talent, and the rest just have a grand time not taking themselves seriously. A few years ago the 8th grade science teacher (a male) performed "Part of Your World" in full costume. Last year the drama teacher and chorus teacher did "In Summer" and "Let it Go" in great Olaf and Elsa costumes. We have had tributes to KISS and an amazing choreographed performance of "Thriller"

It is a fantastic show and one of my favorite fundraisers of the year.

We didn't have as many acts this year as we have had in the past so I was asked to perform. I reeled in one of my good friends from our theatre group and we will be doing Hakuna Matata.

No worries! (Well, a few worries)

Break a leg, Dee.

Don't forget to post some pics.

Hi all!
Just made our ADRs for our Aug stay at BC. I booked Ohana for a 7:30 breakfast to try and make RD at MK.

Is there a way to get to the Poly without taking a cab this early in the morning - I'm guessing a cab would be least stressful (the cost really adds up because we have to take a van for the 5 of us). We won't have a car with us.

Also will the monorail to MK be running around 8:30 from the Poly?

TIA!

Whoops- meant to post it at the end of the thread, not directly reply- I'll move it there!

Hello, everyone!

While we were at WDW for the Princess Half weekend, I booked a stay at YC for September 4-7 for hubby and me! We will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary!

We have stayed at YC twice now. We planned a trip for June 4-7 at the Poly (club level)- we are celebrating my daughter's graduation from high school and my graduation from college (getting my masters degree in music, woohoo!). With all the work going on there, however, I did not think that having to deal with all of that mess and noise on the quiet pool etc. would be a wise use of our hard earned $. We switched to Beach Club club level, and we are VERY excited! I think my favorite parts of the whole YC/BC resort are Stormalong Bay and the easy walk to Epcot. I am hoping the Club level is worth it, lol!

You may be able to take a bus to MK and then ride the monorail to Poly, but that doesn't sound less stressful! And yes, the resort monorail starts running an hour before MK opening.

Thanks! I think we'll just get a cab & take the monorail to MK afterwards.

You will love it! The staff at the BC is fantastic. I thought the club level experience there was amazing, mainly due to the great staff they have there.

We ate there in January, everyone enjoyed their meal I think?

Had dinner there twice in the last month and both times it was fantastic. I had a guest tell me last weekend it was the best meal they had on property.
Thanks for the responses:flower3: We ate breakfast there last trip based on recommendations I had read here and were very pleased. My DM was watching the podcast with me and was very nervous about my choice:crazy2: I was worried I made a big mistake because they were so negative. I knew I had read good things about dinner on here::yes:: Thanks so much for putting my mind at ease. This thread is great as always!

We were at the Polynesian for our older daughter's graduation in '13 and it was perfect. For the younger daughters graduation this May I decided on the BC too. Hubby and i were at the Poly in November for dinner and it was so sad to see it like that. The pool should be finished before our trip but I know that Tokelau is now DVC so our only other favorite long house is Samoa, which I'm sure will now be everyone else's as well. I am sad to see that Pirates will be down for refurb though, thanks to FP+ we never had a chance to ride it in November due to the 40 minute claustrophobic standby lines

So I'm thinking of staying at either BC or BW in April. My question is this

I like my room COLD. I recently stayed at All Star Sports and it was hot in the room. Coudknt get it below 70. Are the deluxes any different on how low it can go? Any "hack" to make it get to 65?

I just finished the last of 2 chocolate croissants purchased yesterday from the Beach Club Marketplace. I now have the uncontrollable urge to run around the Caribbean Beach resort yelling that "I had 2 chocolate croissants and you didn't".

I also had some delicious Clam chowder from the Beach Club Marketplace.

I'm just trying to make everyone hungry.

Thank you that is all.

~NM (That's NINJA Mom in case you are confused)

In the past they there has been large bottles of drinking water (Evian?) in the CL lounge. You could refill your personal bottle from that one or even request you're own to take back to the room.
The soda machines are in the BC Marketplace.

Thanks for the info MickeyT!

Congratulations - no better way to celebrate!

Unless they change the thermostat with the new room rehab there is no problem getting the air conditioning cranked really cold. And the rooms have ceiling fans to cool you off even more. :)

Ugh! I booked YC for August and then read reviews and I'm worried I won't like it (reviews said rooms are tired and in need of refurb)

Should I try to switch to beach club? or stop obsessing?

It is so much money I don't want to be dissapointed in the room.

I was just poking around online check-in and my Beach Club reservation for March says "Package Type: KCW Room Only". This is the first time I have seen that and I booked through Orbitz. Does anyone know what KCW means?

Teena, welcome home! We have about 3-4 feet of snow on the ground outside and just heard it is now a "blizzard". Don't you miss the Northeast??? :rolleyes2

Hi - did you figure out what KCW Room Only means? My Orbitz reservation says same thing (on MDE) - for a different resort. Didn't have that when I stayed onsite in January 2015 via Orbitz booking.
