Very excited to finally and officially do this! My first time staying here!

Dee, you can add Johnny and I to the Be Our Guest list! BCV, studio, Nov. 11-21!

:jumping1:

 Although you may not be able to see me waving from behind this snowbank!

Speaking of summer... have they cancelled school for tomorrow in your district yet? We are expecting the call any time now, and at this rate we will be attending school until the very end of June.

We spent today packing for our trip to the Dark Side and looking at food porn from the Universal restaurants.

:wizard:

Oh, tomorrow is already called of and they're already talking about how many days of April vacation to yank. I'm sick of it.

Hey Y'all: So what happens if you have a room booked at Beach Club Villas, and — because of renovations shutting down floors or sections — there aren't enough villas of your category to go around? We're going at the end of August, and I don't see a huge number of BC studio villas to start with. Would they bump you someplace else, or what? Thanks!!!

Unless it's changed, the only time all the Epcot resorts share is for DTD.
When we were at WDW the end of January we saw the DTD buses were only sharing between YC and BC. They weren't sharing with the other three resorts and I hope they keep it that way. :)

That's good news! Our last YC stay was Aug 2013 and they were still sharing for DTD. We were at YC for dinner at the end of Jan!!! We just got home a week ago. I think we walked thru Epcot to get a bus back to our resort.

I am going to reserve a breakfast at Cape May for a "chill" day. I'm booking a late seating. Is it necessary? Anyone have luck just walking into cape May for breakfast or dinner. We're party of 2.

I could be wrong, but I think reservations are probably necessary unless you won't be too disappointed and have a backup plan if you can't get in. If you had asked about the The Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club, I would say chances are pretty good at both places for breakfast, lunch or dinner without a reservation for 2 people, so this could be a Plan B.

:)

It's possible, but moving guests someplace else would be a last resort (pun unintentional). I'm pretty sure rooms at BC/YC/BCV are being taken out of booking inventory to anticipate the work that will be done.

:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this again. I hope they keep it that way too.

We are hunkering down for more snow over the next 3 days. "Lucky" us, we are in the jackpot ocean effect zone.:scared1:

I feel your pain Dee. Although we don't get the ocean effect, we live in a "higher elevation" in Central Mass. It looks like another foot since Saturday and it's not done yet. DH just went outside to snowblow and came back in to say that the throttle is acting funny. :worried:

I am staying in my Happy Place and dreaming of warmer Disney days while keeping up on the thread! Stay safe all Northeast DISers!

I have to post this- Mark was having trouble with his snowblower yesterday too. He went onto all sorts of websites, read about carburetors and finally diagnosed the problem:

Out of gas.

:lmao:

Stay safe everyone!

Oh, poor Mark. I can only imagine how frustrated he was. (But good for a laugh!)

I'm a bit whiny about the snow here in Toronto because we have many years where we don't even need boots in the city, but this year the ground is often covered in the white stuff. But whenever I get whiny I think of you in Boston and I change my thoughts.

Stay safe and stay warm inside!

Sorry guys, I know this info is likely in this thread somewhere, but when do they anticipating finishing renovations to the Beach club rooms (not villas). We are planning on BC for our early Nov 2015 trip, but only if there is not still any major construction to lobby, pool, or majority of rooms. If there will be BCV construction for our time, should we request a lakeside room, despite what room category we book? Thanks.

Hi Dee! Realized I never asked to be added to the Be Our Guest list again. On our Jan trip we booked a bounceback for Dec 16-19, YC CL Gardenview. We're doing a split stay & will be @ Contemporary Resort club level Dec 12-16. it's mostly a Christmas trip, but is only 3 weeks before DH's big 60 ( :scared1:) so I'll slip a little celebrating that in too. I'm hoping by Dec the YC club level has gotten it's rehab. We definitely noticed the need this past trip. The room was fine, but the hallway rugs & walls are so very worn & stained. I considered booking BC for the rehabbed rooms, but we really prefer YC so we'll just hope for a rehab before Dec.

I also want to thank you for keeping up the great info on page 1. It was really valuable on our trip. We were scheduled to get picked up at 6 PM & were spending the afternoon in Epcot. At around 3, we were caught in a torrential rain storm. In getting back to the hotel, we had to walk thru puddles that were several inches of water deep. Our sneakers were thoroughly soaked. There was no way we could wear them back on the plane & our other footwear was not going to be useful with all the snow & single digit temps at home. So I decided I'd throw them in the dryer before we got picked up. Although we have stayed at YC about 20 times, I never do laundry on vacation soooo....... Page 1 to the rescue!!! Found laundry room location & cost quickly & easily. Thankfully, the dryers were not being used. My DH was so impressed I could find all the info we needed right on the Dis! He knew I used it for park & discount info, but he couldn't believe I could even find info on the laundry room! A little FYI, we found the sneakers would "pop" the dryer door open pretty often. So 1 of us actually stayed right there to close the door & restart the cycle. So if anyone is going to be drying sneakers, you might want to stay close.

Thanks again Dee!! :goodvibes

Edited to add my sympathy to all the New Englanders suffering thru this snowy winter. I'm in Buffalo, we started the winter off with 7 feet of snow in 2 days in November. So I totally understand your pain!

Check out page one of the thread for the latest in room renovations. You are good to go!

Hi, everyone. I read this thread a lot. Thanks for keeping it up. I'm wondering about the boats to HS etc. We took a boat inside Epcot when we visited in December 2012. It was one of the hottest experiences we had. Super stuffy. If there was a/c, it wasn't really working. Are the boats from BC to HS the same? Trying to decide if walking sounds better for our early May trip. I'd rather the exercise and breeze if it's really stuffy on the boats. Thanks!

The lack of AC on the Friendship boats is 1 of the few complaints 1 can think about the Epcot resorts. That said, early May shouldn't be too bad on the boats. ( Now September, that's another story!) Plus the captains usually keep the door open a bit so if you are in the front, you get a bit of a breeze.

We have been to Y&B in May, Sept & Jan. In the morning or on the way home, we take the boat if there is 1 @ the dock or on the way. We walk if we just missed 1 or don't see 1. During the hot afternoon hours, we take the boat. But we are late 50's & not that into exercise! So a warm boat is preferable to being drenched from a hot walk. ;)

Thanks for responding. So there is no A/C at all? Ugh. No wonder why it felt stuffy. Is there any room to sit outside?

There is limited open-air seating at the aft. This can be a popular place to sit - not only for the abundant fresh air, but also for the unobstructed views. So, if that's an area where you would like to sit, be among the first to board from the rear entrance of the boat. There is probably room there for about 5-6 adults to sit, somewhat comfortably.

Dee and my fellow Mass friends, I share your pain. We live on the ocean and on a hill, not the greatest storm combination! Bad driving and crazy winds. As bad as it is, no one hates it more than our dog Lola!!This was taken about two hours ago when she was looking for a place to "go"!!
