Just got off the phone with WDW, I decided to come in a day early before our GF/YC vacay, so booked 1st night at Pop. I want to make full use of our first GF day, so decided it would be nice to be onsite already for quick transfer over to GF first thing in the morning. We can go to MK or TL in the morning till our room is ready.
Driving up from Lauderdale to Pop, so can take our time, stop at Publix on Appoloka to get some room food for breakfasts, maybe make an Outlet stop too

Also just booked our Ft. Lauderdale hotel today too :beach:! Everything is coming together for August. Now to find a good air fare!

I'm getting so incredibly excited! Tomorrow is my 180 day mark. I've sent my reservation requests to the IPO and I am going let them make my ADRs for me. I've heard that it's really hard to get BOG. I thought I'd heard that the online system doesn't actually work on day 180, but does on 179? If I want the BOG reservation, should I call first thing tomorrow morning, or does the 179 day thing apply to the phone as well?

Tomorrow is my 180 day mark too. I talked with the IPO as well as disney dining. Right now, the computer is glitchy and will only let you make an ADR on your 180 day mark--not the plus 10. So, to make all of your reservations for your trip, you can either call right at 7 am east coast time or let the IPO do it for you. Hope this helps! :)

How did you guys make out with your reservations?

I am so addicted to this thread that I am dreaming about it!!! Last night I was dreaming about HH and I was trying to find someone named Bob to make me a Sunken Treasure!!!! Oh my, December can't get here soon enough!!!

Love it!!!

(BTW- Tom is the bartender you need to find for the Sunken Treasure. Or bring your own laminated recipe card)

This thread can have a strong influence!

Today for lunch I went to a local fish place to have lobster rolls, because of past comments that the lobster rolls at Hurricane Hanna's are so good. I should have bought Sunken Treasure ingredients while we were out. :)

Yes, this thread is full of people who bad influences on behaviour and your pocketbook!!!

Here now. Absolutely beautiful resort. Love CL. We have a SV and was able to see MK fireworks from room tonight.
I will post review when I'm back.

This weather sucks its so cold :sad1:

Thank you for the report, and the pictures of the view from your room.

Sending warm wishes your way. Hope you have a fantastic trip!

We arrived on Friday for our first deluxe stay. We're at YC and had reserved pool/lagoon view. Our requests were high floor, facing lake, and away from elevator. We got everything we wanted! We didn't request a day bed but we got one and DD is using it so it's comfy enough for an adult. But she's always been able to sleep anywhere! We have an awesome view, our room is 4th floor right above the water side entrance. Last night we sat on our balcony and could see some of the Illuminations fireworks while DS played the soundtrack on his phone.

Went to MK yesterday, it was pretty busy. Epcot today. Only complaint is that it's freaking cold here. 39 this morning! We'll be wearing every layer we have!

Glad to hear your requests were met!!!

Sending warm thoughts to you, too.

Just stopping by, in the hopes that we'll be returning to the Beach Club in August 2014. (Yeah, you read that right... 2014. Bummer. But this summer we're redoing our 50 year old kitchen, so no Disney for us.)

We LOVED the Beach Club last August!! And the CMs went way above and beyond when my husband had a medical emergency that landed him in the hospital. I'm really, REALLY hoping we find a way to return there next year.

In the meantime, I'll stop by now and then and vacation vicariously through you guys.

:wave2:

I'll pencil you in for 2014 and hopefully that will help make it so!

I remember what you went through with your husband. I hope you find your way back next summer!

Updating my info that you posted..I will be at the Yacht Club Standard from Aug 17-23.
Also traveling with me are Cupmom and Dianewes

I'll update your info!

:cool1:

Natebenma our plans have changed and we are no longer heading to the world at the end of May. We are now looking at June 28-July7 and not sure where we are staying. Unfortunately I am a resort changer :sad2:.
We have tentatively booked the Contemporary because of the proximity to MK for the craziest week of the year, but my girls have watched the YouTube videos of SAB and the Jib Slide and want to stay with BC/YC. I wish discounts would come out so I know what to do...the type of discount may make the difference for us....

The worst thing about changing dates...I had to cancel our dinner ressie at BOG

So sorry to hear your plans have changed. Hope the new plans work out for you. And if you do end up rebooking, you know where we are!

:goodvibes

Yes, please add us to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1. My mom and I will be staying Beach Club WV April 21-27. It is our first time to stay at a Disney resort and our first visit to Disney since 1996! My mom just turned 80 and this will be a special trip for her to attend Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival. We will be doing the Gardens of the World tour at Epcot and Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK. All the information provided here has been such a help in planning our trip. Thanks.

Will do!!!

What a great trip with your mom.

We're excited about staying at the BC 4/8-4/11! We always stay and the YC because we want the guarantee of having a full balcony. (with three boys in the room, the balcony is my escape) However, we've been wanting to try the BC to be closer to the marketplace and Epcot. I made full balcony my only request and am keeping my fingers crossed. :)

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest List on Page 1. Fingers crossed for your full balcony.

:yay:

Love a challenge!

Don't know off hand but I'll see what I can find.

When do you need this? Best bet is to see if someone who is there now or going soon could take a picture for you. Or contacting Disney Merchandise to see if they can help you (especially the hat store on Main Street at MK)

Have you tried to post the question on the Theme Park boards. Of course, your question will degenerate into a rant on how awful the "Limited Time Magic" promotion is two or three posts.

I don't think this is the official "Year of the Ear" Hat for March, but it could be:

Here's a site about the ears http://www.disunplugged.com/2012/12...-ear-with-limited-time-ear-hats-for-all-ages/

I always assumed that all bedding was changed after each stay including the duvet, but now I wondering from other comments I've read elsewhere that the duvets are not changed?? I hope that they are, anyone know? :confused3

Is it really a duvet, or is it triple sheeted? If it's triple sheeted, I would think that all the bedding is completely replaced at the end of a stay. I'm not sure about a real duvet or a bedspread. I've seen in other hotels where all the sheets and blankets are pulled, but not the bedspreads.

Anyone know for sure?

What a great thread with a wealth of information! I feel like I have learned so much but haven't got a chance to read it all.

We are staying in the Beach Club November 22-27! After staying in the Poly last trip, we thought we'd never stay anywhere else again then my mother (mine & my kids travel partner) saw the gingerbread carousel & wanted something with more of a Christmasy feel--and the kids saw the pool...the rest is history. I have second guessed this choice but this thread has made me feel better about it. Second guessing was because we loved the monorail and its so easy with little kids. We didn't love epcot the first time we went (kids were 4 & 2 and I was pregnant). We didn't go to epcot on our last trip but I think now that the kids are getting older, they will be more into it. Love that its close to HS studios another one of our favorites. The resort looks gorgeous and our second favorite place to travel is the beach! Excited to learn more, thanks for the thread. :beach:

We were trying to get a date that would reconile with you but alas we could not due my sister's due date

PLEASE put DH and I down for GV 6/30- 7/8
DH B day is on 7/7 so we will have to plan something special:thumbsup2
I am open to all ideas. We have no children but Victoria and Alberts would not appeal to him:confused3

Welcome to this thread, there is tons of information on the first pages, and you will learn tons more if you follow along with the conversation.

BC/YC is such a great location and I'm sure you and your family will love it.

Great choice, we loved our BC stay, we had a GV room and could see the higher Illuminations fireworks.
There is quite a bit for young ones to do around Epcot. Maybe they could also do the Kim Possible now that they're a bit older. The name has changed now, but can't think of it

We are looking forward to trying YC in August, otherwise known here as The Dark Side :rotfl:

Couchy, how about a Wishes or an Illuminations cruise for Mr. Couchy's birthday? We did an Illuminations cruise several years ago and it was a trip highlight! My other suggestion would be a KTTK tour. Again, I did it several years ago and it was definitely the BEST part of my trip!

Hi guys. It's in the 30's just back from Epcot.of course the day we are meant to leave its gonna be almost 80 so We have decided to stay 2 extra nights, nothing available YC or BC so I booked nurse discount at Swan. :cool1:

Fantastic decision to stay 2 extra nights. And now you can bring us your opinion of the Swan vs. BC/YC.

Which resort are you staying at?

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

I agree with catho72- an Illuminations or Wishes cruise or one of the tours are great choices! If DH is a true Disney geek, what about lunch with an Imagineer?

Dee, we're actually going to stay an extra day night, through the 24th!

Ryan

Got it! Thanks for the clarification.

Hi. This is Ben. I hacked into my mom's Disboards account.

I just wanted to let all of you know that my Powerpoint presentation "Top Ten Reasons We Should Go to Disney! This Summer!!! worked.

Mom and Dad booked a trip!!!

We will be coming home to the Beach Club July 16-20.

Mom says she wants to put us into a BOG or something. I'm not sure I like the sound of that, but, whatever.

PS- we are going to The Park-That-Must-Not-Be-Named first. Don't tell Teena! :ssst:
