We are going to be going to DHS on June 9 for the last day of Star Wars Weekends. Staying at BC will be great for this, since I don't expect to stay all day. We want to get pictures with characters, and see the parade. We have lunch reservations for 50's Prime Time Cafe at 11:30 a.m. Anyone know when the parade occurs? From what I can see on the internet, it was at 11:40 two years ago. Wondering if we need to cancel our lunch, and have a late lunch back at the BC. Anyone attended in the past? Any idea when the parade occurs? Does it change every year?:confused3:confused3:confused3

Hello fellow Midwesterners! Chicago here! Home of the endless winter......

Chicago was hit so hard this year! I have an aunt that lives in Downers Grove. Are you near there?

Checking in from Cleveland, Ohio where we have flurries and 34 degrees. ENOUGH already! But I see the forecast calls for sun by the end of the week!

Still dealing with the snow. Hope today's snow will be the last snow of the season. Need to go to WDW to warm up!!

Agreed! It has literally snowed all day today in northern Cincy. Luckily, they are tiny flakes but still ... some spring break start for my kids. :(

So many Ohio disneys lovers! That's awesome:cool1:! Do you guys drive or fly to Disney? My husband likes to drive.

I'm ready for winter to end! We had snow today too & local schools closed, I didn't think it was that bad, but I ready for spring.

We always FLY to Disney from Ohio. It's like a 17-20 straight drive, but when you can get a flight for $178 round trip, you gotta FLY! I really lucked out this time. When I was in my 20's, we would drive, but there is no way I would do it now in my 50's!

Thanks Dee & Angeejoe I'm really excited to be booked for flights for my Jan. trip :cheer2: it's dangerous being off from work  more time to get myself in trouble!!

Hi everyone!

Sunday was our 180day mark! Got all of the ADRs we wanted :). The only problem was the website wouldn't let us book for our whole stay, so I needed to call. I was so excited to book the restaurants (and the Albatross Pirate Cruise and Pirate League), but now I feel like all that's left is waiting!

Dee - our exact dates are 9/20 - 9/27 in the BCV. My daughter will turn 7 on the 21st and she is super excited about this being her best birthday yet.

Is there a good resource for reading up on things for kids to do in Epcot? I have DD 7, DD 4, and DS 4. I've caught things on the boards here and there but most sites I've seen seem to be outdated. Any help would be appreciated!

Lol! Thats how I ended up with so many trips this year... 5 trips in a year is nuts, but I'm loving it!!

I'll make the adjustment.

Have you read up about the Phineas and Furb adventures? I bet your kids are great ages for this. We did it when it was Kim Possible, and we had a device like a cell phone and it would make things happen in the different countries.

There's also the Kid Cot Stations in each country- they're still around, right? The kids can do a craft like coloring a mask.

Is there a Disney with Kids or Disney with Families sub forum? Maybe that would have more helpful info.

Maybe others with younger kids than mine have a few suggestions for you.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but can anyone comment on the BC villas sofa bed in the 1 bedrooms? A friend of mine, her husband and their 9 year old twins (boy and a girl) are going in Nov. They are renting points for 10 nights and there is availability at the BC villas. Her only hesitation is the twins would need to share the sofa bed and she is concerned with the comfort level of it. Is it the kind where the mattress is sagging and you roll to the middle of the bed all night long or would it be ok for 2 9 year olds for 10 nights? Thanks for the input!

My kids shared the sofa bed without an issue. (They were 6 and 4 at the time so a bit younger.)
I also slept on a sofa bed in a BCV studio and found it surprisingly comfortable. I was only there for 4 nights but I ran the ToT 10 mile race during that time so I'm sure I would have felt everything little lump if the bed weren't comfortable! :lmao:

I totally agree, I'd rather fly, but DH hates flying because he had tubes in his ears as a child & finds flying painful & finds his equilibrium is off for 1 day. So he'd rather drive, ugh! As long as I get to go to Disney I will deal with it! It's a long drive, and we usually take 2 days. We drove straight through once & it sucked!

We just stayed in a 2 bedroom in October and the sofa bed in our room was great for our 2 boys. Only 5 and 7, but 50 & 60 pounds - for comparisons sake. They never complained.

Where are you considering staying? Do you have a short list?

Bumping this one up! Anyone know about the locks on the doors to the balconies?

Does anyone know if the balconies at BCV have locks up high (where children can't reach)? I have this paranoia about DS somehow being able to figure out the lock and getting outside on the patio/balcony (he would be sleeping in the living room alone if we stay here). Thanks!

I am paranoid about that sort of thing too, the only lock I noticed on our YC balcony was near the handle. the doors are sliding doors, so you could bring something to block the door shut, like a broom stick. I would guess around 24" long would work.
I don't know what your kids are like, you could try moving the desk in the way or something if that may be a deterrent. We were in a regular room so I just put myself next to the door.

We kept the curtains closed so the little ones wouldn't think about their being a balcony and at least they are the balconies that they can't fit through the slots. If you think he may try to go out there alone, take any furniture in off the balcony so there is nothing to climb on.

I know on the 5th floor YC the balcony doors have a hook style lock at around eye level (my eye level, I'm 5'3") in addition to the regular door handle.

Please help!
Where can I go on the website to make my final payment? I can't find it anywhere and today is the day!

Can you pay on the phone using the automated system or speak with a cast member? We made our final payment today through the automated system.

I didn't know there was one but I can sure try. I think they close at 10pm for live phones so I missed it by a bit...was showering. We are moving so things are crazy around here!
