Got home last night from our 10 night YC CL stay!! We had a fantastic trip and really liked the YC. I posted a separate report thread if you want to check it out. If you have questions I can try to answer them!

thank you for posting the review and pictures. The view from your room was wonderful. Sorry to hear that the YC CL doesn't quite measure up to WL CL. I guess since this is our first trip to WDW we won't have anything to compare it too...however I will keep that in mind if we find ourselves returning. How were the buses to MK and AK? Did you go early morning? What was the wait time for busses?

Hi there DancinDaisyDuck!!

I would agree that there appears to be less kids at YC versus BC after having stayed at both. The YC has a convention center attached and we noticed it was mostly business types at the YC. I love the BC too so for me, kids are not an issue.

As for the vegan experience.. I recently followed this TR for this young lady who dined vegan during her trip in February. It isn't focused on the dining especially but she has another TRs in her signature for which she ate vegan.

We had absolutely no issues with the buses. I think the longest we waited was one night from MK (after Wishes ) so that wait was about 20 minutes. A lot of times though, a bus would show up very shortly after we arrived a the stop.

On the way to MK, the only other stop was BC. YC was picked up and dropped off first.

The AK bus stopped at Swan & Dolphin, Boardwalk, YC and BC....we were never without a seat though...it wasn't bad.

We are not early risers, so we were typically heading to the bus around 10-10:30 am, or in the evening (after a break) around 6.

Being able to walk to Epcot and DHS is absolutely priceless!!

There is no way to guarantee you get a balcony unfortunately. Most have balconies, some are standing room only and others have two chairs. If a balcony is really important, I highly suggest you transfer your reservation to the Yacht Club instead of the Beach Club. 99% of the rooms at the YC have full balconies.

At both resorts, a water view is a really nice view guaranteed but costs a lot more than a garden view. A garden view can be a really nice view of a courtyard but it can also be a view of dense woods. If a view is really really important, than book the water view.

Both resorts can fill up quickly ... the same as a moderate or value resort. I find the first 2 weeks of June are slower than the rest of the summer and it starts slowing down a tad towards the end of August. However, what families don't fill up, conventions will.

We are going after Memorial Day planning on May 30th - June 10th (though 2 of the days will be spent at Universal)

Another question though I am pretty sure I know the answer since I didn't see it on the list of things in the room, I know when we stayed at Aulani they had. DVD Disney rental and a DVD/Blu- ray player in the room, do they not have these in any of the rooms? Just in case the weather is super crazy and we get confined to the room .

Can we still access the entrance to Epcot from YC? My heart is set on BC but I want to be fair with the person I am going with.

I did not eat the one at the bakery but it looked 100x better than the one at HH's. huge chunks of lobster and not alot of filler. I definitely want to try it sometime.

That's great to hear coming from a Lobster Roll specialist like yourself

I will definitely tell DH about this, he has wanted to try one for quite sometime!!! (I wouldn't let him at Columbia Harbor House cause it looked quite disgusting!)

Question for anyone at BCV now. Do they have any prices listed at the hair salon. Dd and I will be there in 2 weeks and 4 days ( not that I am counting) for SWW and thinking about getting a special hair do.

I officially received my Disney reservation number today

I booked through a conference so they didn't release the reservations to Disney until a couple days ago and I leave in less than 2 weeks! Even though the conference 'confirmed' me at the Beach Club, I am happy to get my Disney reservation number

My sister is joining me for a few days as well (before my conference starts) and she's never stayed at Beach Club or in any Epcot resort - or even a Deluxe resort. She's super excited too!!

Question for those who drive - How far is the walk to the parking lot and a TYPICAL spot (not the front row)? Any tips on where to park or the best access to get in and out of the Beach Club to the parking lot?

That was something I was going to mention when I got around to doing installment #2 of our trip report...NO LOBSTER SALAD
I did talk to one of the CL CMs when we were there and he confirmed for me that the lobster salad is off the menu. He didn't say is this was temporary or permanent though.

I was planning on getting through the rest of my mini trip report today...but then our dishwasher broke. So, we may switch out all of our white appliances for stainless steel ones. I so did not plan on having to shop for 4 new appliances this week. Why oh why must there be so many choices?

Only the suites and the club level rooms have a dvd player. The BCV also does.

First, let me say what a great group of people you all are- reading through this thread has gotten me so excited for my next trip to Disney and convinced me to try YC for the first time!!
We are booked 8/17-8/24 in a GV CL room at YC and we can't wait. I've had a couple of conversations with IPO and they were great both times. We got all our ADR requests and now I just have to sit back, wait, and keep reading this thread for the next 110 days.
One thing that I found interesting is that the IPO didn't have my contact info (including email address) and it was assumed that reason being that I booked through a TA. So....if you have booked CL through an TA, it may be smart to initiate contact rather than wait for an email from the IPO.

With exactly four weeks to go until our first Beach Club stay, I wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone for the great information and fun topics. Secret doors, sunken treasures, lobster rolls, Tom Collins, beautiful grandchildren, bottle water, request priorities, the list is endless.

It has really been fun trying to keep up with it all. We stayed Poly CL in 2007 and 2011 and are looking forward to compare and contrast BC CL. We'll be there 5/27-6/1 BC SV CL. Hopefully my ticker shows that correctly.

It ain't right after all. You'll get hooked like the rest of us. This thread is filled with Sunkin Treasure Junkies and lobster Roll-a-holics. Currently there is a movement underfoot to get people hooked on the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote and lemon curd at the Captain's Grille.

But what I'm holding back on is SOOOOoooooOOOOO good! Once you get some everything else will pale in comparison.

Trust me, you will be instantly addicted. All and I mean ALL of your snack credits will go towards bags of the Devil's nuggets. You will hide the bag from your family and refuse to share with small children, perhaps even your own. It's about as bad as it can get.

Take an empty suitcase so you have room for all the bags you're gonna wanna bring back.
