Teena - WELCOME BACK!!!

Sounds like a fantastic cruise.

As usual pic of Lily is just adorable.

Absolutely agree with you about Beaches and Cream. I would never waste a ts credit there. We love B&C but when we have the DDP we pay out of pocket. This year we are just doing TIW so no more worry about hoarding credits!

Totally agree with B&C. We've never used a TS credit for dining there. Hoard our TS for the more expensive places :goodvibes But we are also using TIW next trip. I'm enjoying that more then DDP.

Hello from Disney World!! Been having a great time even though I'm not at BC/YC! Today I went to Epcot and took about 1000 pics of the things (flowers) from the flower and garden festival! I also learned a lot about the new wrist bands that will be happening by the end of the year. I took my annual pass and converted it to the new one that you tap and go! I was told that annual pass holders will be getting the bands by the end of the year. The band will have your name and you pick the color. I took a pic of them which I will send to Dee when I return home anyway they look very cool! This was a very short stay so I'll be leaving Sunday, but I'll be back in July at BC and I can't wait! I'll post more when I return home until then bedtime for me!! Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom day!

 Glad you have been enjoying yourself! Can't wait to :listen: hear about APs & wrist bands. Will they be able to program your room key on it too? We have to renew our AP on our upcoming August trip. I wonder if they'll have the wrist bands then ?
Im a bit confussed, because those wrist bands are also replacing KTTW cards. So I wonder will you have to have 2 wrist bands? Like you have to use 2 cards now, your AP for park admission, then your KTTW card to get into your room, charging, etc :confused3
Looking forward to hearing what info you can dig up ::yes::

On third load of wash. The cruise was wonderful ... weather perfect.

Off to the BC lobby tomorrow. Hope to see some of you there.

Teena, so glad to hear that you had a great voyage on the Fantasy! I'm also looking forward to hearing all about it and any tips you have to share. We will be sailing on the Fantasy 6/15-22 followed by our first stay at the BC 6/22-6/26. I can't wait! Only 7 weeks to go!

Hey Anne,
Just PM me if you have any questions about anything at all. This was our third Disney Fantasy cruise.

Teena: Hope Bob is ok. Good luck with the X-rays. Welcome back and glad the weather was good for your cruise!

We are actually leaving Ireland on June 29th, flying to New York to meet my BIL and his daughter (they live in Geneva), staying there for 5 days, and then flying down to Orlando for the stay at the BC with my husbands niece, before flying back to Ireland almost 3 weeks later :thumbsup2

Can anyone give me recommendations for an airline to fly from New York to Orlando with? We are flying into from Dublin into JFK and from MCO to Dublin to just need a one way flight from New York (any airport) to MCO. We would prefer one that includes at least one checked bag each and allows us to book seats together.

Thanks for any information :goodvibes

Jet Blue Terminal 5 at JFK is a huge brand new terminal with many flights to Orlando. Just the terminal alone is worth a visit.

After you land at JFK from Dublin you can take the Airtrain from JFK to Jamaica, then take the Long Island RR to Penn Station (Manhattan) for your 5 day stay. After 5 days, you can do the reverse; Take the LIRR from Penn Station to Jamaica, then transfer to the Airtrain, and get off at terminal 5. The entire trip from JFK to Penn Station is about 35 minutes. You can buy one metro card for the LIRR rides and the Airtrain rides, round trip. The Airtrain looks like a combination train/monorail!

The cruise was great. We had weather between 70-78 the whole week and low humidity too. Castaway Cay was wonderful ... Bob and I enjoyed it so much!

Bob is happy. He brought back 8 bottles from St. Thomas. That should keep him until our next trip which probably will be in September or early October.

Only bad thing was that Bob tripped and fell Friday on the dock at Castaway. He bloodied up his wrists and knees ... nothing bad ... but it looks as if his left (and he's left handed naturally) wrist is more than just bruised. He can't move it today ... can't even hold a pen and write ... and it's huge. We've been icing it. I think I finally talked him into going to the ER tomorrow for x-rays instead of waiting until his doctor is in on Monday. His new supply of vodka is helping though.

Glad you had a great trip, but sorry to here at bobs fall. I think an ER or urgent care center that does X-rays sounds like an excellent idea. I hope theY figure it out tomorrow.

Just returned from BC. 6 nights in a Garden View Club level room. Had a FANTASTIC time. I'm organizing my thoughts and will post a review with a video of our room view a little later. Did all the parks via Disney transportation (no issues) , 6 TS restaurants, several great QS meals as well. Ended our trip with the Terrace Dessert Party at MK (highly recommend). The BC pool is to die for. I'm exhausted from this vacation. More to follow.

PS...We had a new towel animal creation each day from Mousekeeping that I took pics of as well. My kids loved these.

B&C was always table service and as far as I know it still is. Waste of a table service in my opinion. We love it there but if I were on the dining plan, I'd pay for it and not use a table service for sure.

That's how we always did it when we were on the Dining Plan. Welcome back Teena!

We've used TiW now for 2 trips and we save a lot of $$$ over the dining plan!

Didn't see that Bob fell. Sorry to hear it. Get him to an ortho STAT! RICE in the meantime.... Rest, Ice, Elevation, Compression. Ice and elevation will help the most. Advil for pain if he's allowed.

Can't wait to see the video of the room. We have a BC GV CL room booked in 3 weeks. I am also glad to hear you had no issues with the Disney transportation.

So I am planning on staying at the BC or YC Summer of 2014 (yeah I know it's like a year away...) I'm super excited. Anyway, with the BC I know that there is a limited amount of balconies right? Is there a way to request or find a way to insure that when you make your reservation you'll get a balcony? (the person I am going with wants a balcony pretty badly, when we were at Aulani it was one of her favorite things about the room.)

How fast does the BC and/or YC fill up? When we went last year to WDW we stayed at POR and were able to find a room 3 weeks before going, I don't know if that's an option with Deluxe Resorts.

And what view is your favorite at either resort? I know we don't want a standard view, but were wondering how others felt about the other options :)

There is no way to guarantee you get a balcony unfortunately. Most have balconies, some are standing room only and others have two chairs. If a balcony is really important, I highly suggest you transfer your reservation to the Yacht Club instead of the Beach Club. 99% of the rooms at the YC have full balconies.

At both resorts, a water view is a really nice view guaranteed but costs a lot more than a garden view. A garden view can be a really nice view of a courtyard but it can also be a view of dense woods. If a view is really really important, than book the water view.

Both resorts can fill up quickly ... the same as a moderate or value resort. I find the first 2 weeks of June are slower than the rest of the summer and it starts slowing down a tad towards the end of August. However, what families don't fill up, conventions will.

Princess Lily is adorable! (and has the same middle name as my older DD :) ). We'll keep an eye out for her when we're at SAB this August...my DD's often pick up a young sidekick when we're at the pool or beach :)

I think I remember reading that all the BC GV CL rooms had full balconies? I'm not sure, so I'm hoping someone else can confirm this...

See, I saw that towel animal and assumed it was a towel dustpan, asking if you wanted to help clean up or soemthing?

I'm not sure why everyone is getting worked up about a towel mushroom

:confused3

;)

Hi,

Just been catching up on the last 10 pages! And have seen a few comments about some not liking the ground floor rooms.

This was going to be one of my requests, whilst we love a full balcony, the fact we may not get one, I thought I would opt for ground floor and still have somewhere to sit in an evening, but my concern was, could it be on the front of the hotel, would not like that!
Also what is the bug situation like on ground floor, can they get under the door! Can those rooms be dark and cold?
Like I say, a full balcony would be lovely but I also just read about a gust seeing a child hanging over the balcony, I would never let my dd2 alone on the balcony but you never know, she is a whirl wind and will climb over anything!

My first and main request is a day bed, we have neither dd10 and she, along with us, will not share a bed with dd2!.
Should I put in for ground floor, we re booked in SV as Gv was not available when we booked way back in June last year, now all that's left is CL WV which is silly money.

We are going for 15 nights end of October and I am stressing already about not having a nice room. I've never been one to say I don't like that, can I have another room but may just have to!

Thanks
