I'm all about AKL for the Holiday decorations!! I don't think the plan is too aggressive at all!! Don't stay at MK go to AKL and drink it all in!!

Ninja Mom and I will be taking a little trip over to AKL when we are there as well so she can see the decorations there too!! Of course she doesn't know of this plan yet :rolleyes1 but since I've rented a car for 4 days of our trip I think we can drive by and take some photos!

I know how we can lure her into the car! We'll just tell her we are going to Walmart. She can't keep out of that place so she'll come running right away when we tell her we are going there. This plan can't fail!

Lol! That was actually my plan Buzz!!! I thought that when we arrive on Wednesday after picking up the car from Swalphin we could head towards Walmart and then hit AKL possibly on the way back or head that way before heading to din at Trails End.

Looking forward to buzzing around Disney with you and NM!

Hello All!

First off...... SINGLE DIGIT DANCE PARTY! party:

Secondly....I'm looking for a bit of advice. Usually, I think I have WDW trips in the bag because we have a week (or more) to play with, but since this upcoming trip is so short (4 days), and since my job will only allow this kind of trip to happen once every 10 years or so, I feel a lot of pressure to make the most of our time. :scared:

This may be a bit off-topic, but I trust y'all here more than anywhere else on these boards! So, to keep it on topic......YAY! We'll be at YC in 9 days! Whew! Anyway, on to my 2 questions....

I've got my Magic Bands, I've made my FP+ selections, ADRs are set, but what worries me is the status of our APs. I bought and paid for them online, but all I received in the mail is a voucher that must be turned in at guest services in exchange for the actual AP. This was a big bummer, as on our arrival day, we don't land at MCO until 7:54, making it virtually impossible to get to a park before it closes that night (No EMH anywhere). So, we'll have to hit it up at DHS when we get there first thing the next morning. Has anyone had experience with this? Are we going to get held up forever waiting in line? We also have to buy our TIW cards at this point.

We got in late on our last visit and headed over to Downtown Disney and converted our vouchers for our APs and purchased TIW.

You know I can see this...right? And Buzzy, just because you shop at Macy's doesn't make you any fancier than the rest of us! I'd love to go to AK. Maybe we can grab a quick lunch there? I'll sneak Buzzy in in my purse but only if he promises to use the tongs at any buffets we may partake of...

~NM
PS, We're still goin to Walmart.... right?? (Insert hopeful look)

Single digit time has arrived:cheer2::cheer2::cool1::cool1:. Cannot wait to arrive at the Beach Club with my family. Everyone is so excited to go and see all the decorations.

Not sure if I will get a chance to post again this week, so HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone.

Ok DH and I are officially booked at Beach Club Feb 7-15!! :cool1::banana: We have been booked at many resorts the last couple months, but have narrowed it down to Crescent Lake. And I think BC is our pick of the three. My only real concern with BC is that they are picked up after YC for busses, but we can deal with that. Very excited for our first deluxe stay!

If you request a king bed instead of 2 queens, do they just swap out the beds?

Nope.

Or are there only a specific amount of rooms that have a king bed vs. 2 queen beds?

Yup.

Also, if you request a full balcony for BC, what is the likelihood that you will actually get it?

It all depends on occupancy and how many others have requested a full balcony. It's a crap shoot. If it's really important to you, make that your #1 request.

I fully understand that these are only "requests", and not guarantees, but anyone have luck with these requests?

Yup, sometimes.

Or is it just a gamble?

Yup.

I've noticed that there are a lot of people who request not to be on the first floor. We usually like to be on the ground floor to avoid having to deal with the elevators. I was thinking it would be a good idea here since anywhere on the ground floor has an outside seating area (as opposed to maybe getting a full balcony on an upper floor). I'm second guessing myself now. Is it that bad on the ground level? We are garden view if that matters.....;)

Hi everyone! I have a quick question. We have a reservation for CRT on May 19 at 9:35am we are staying at the yacht club. What is the the best way to get to the MK and what time should we leave to get there on time? Thanks in advance!!!!

I don't think it's good or bad to be on first floor. Just a matter of what you like.
I don't like 1st floor, because I don't like people passing by looking into my room, and don't like having to keep my curtains closed, and being in a dark room. So my preference is an upper floor.

Best way to get to the MK is by bus. That will take you to the main gates of the MK.

If you drive yourself or take a cab, you can only get to the TTC, so you will have to take the monorail or ferry from there.

It takes about 15-20 minutes from the YC to BC to MK. If you are out at the bus stop between 8:30 and 8:45, you should have no trouble getting there in time.

I, on the other hand, prefer the ground floor because I get to give those
peeping toms an eyeful as I dash to the bathroom in the morning complete with full bed head and ratty vacation pajamas! Actually there aren't that many places where people would pass by your first floor room on the way to their peep fests. The only place I can think of is that external corridor on the first floor where we trot by rooms as we take the (not so secret) "secret entrance" by room 1501. Since you do most, if not all, of your walking in the internal corridors at a deluxe resort I don't think the drive by peeping is an issue.

If you look at the layout of the resort there are scruffy bushes directly in front of many of the first floor patios on the side that faces the lake. Don't ask me how I know this... it's not like I was prowling around checking out the room situations on the first floor... OK! Maybe I was! ;) It's a good thing I won't be back for a while as security is still looking for me. ;)

I'm not sure what is going on in the front side of the resort but if those peepers are rich tell them I'm single! My husband says he will personally place an advertisement in "Peepers Hook up" or what ever they have in Orlando if that's what it will take to get rid of me.

So the bottom line here is that the first floor is fine. I'd be more concerned with all the peeping that goes on in a Value or a Moderate as you have people walking by those rooms all the time. Let me tell you there is nothing like having kids in one of those rooms and one of them decides that the room is too dark and leaves the curtains open while you nap in the afternoon and they are at the pool. I'm sure there are more than a few traumatized guests at POFQ who asked for refunds after they got an excellent view of DH and I passed out on the beds, drooling as we slept off that morning's park conquests. Darn kids!

:lmao:

I am so sorry we missed your show by what I think is a couple of weeks. I would have so totally walked past your 1st floor window.

Hi all! I'm planning a trip back to the BC but not until 2015. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should go April vacation (week that includes Patriots Day) or last week in August. A huge concern of ours is we do not want it to be very crowded. We are a little scared of what the August heat and humidity will be like so that's why I'm looking into our April vacation. After doing a little research it seems as long as Easter doesn't fall into that week crowds are ok and prices go down. Can someone with experience going during that week give me some input? I was also wondering why do the crowds and prices go up so much when Easter does fall into that week? Thanks!

We go for April vacation every year. The crowds are not bad at all, except when Easter falls that week. That is true.
Easter is the first weekend this year so I'm expecting larger crowds this year. :(
Also flights for April vaca. Are INSANE!! If you haven't gotten flights yet you may have to pay $400 one way.
We are driving next year bc the flights were crazy even shortly after they opened up.
HTH :)

Most of the garden view rooms face the wooded area between BC and Epcot. I think it is a very relaxing area and is my favorite room location. There will be some people walking by the rooms, but you don't get a lot of them. They will mostly be people who are going to their rooms at the villas or BC people who have used one of the stairway exits.

Thanks. I read to make sure to book flights right when they open up. We're not planning until 2015 so flights are not available yet. Do you know why crowds go up when Easter falls that week? I'm very curious.
