If you have your MB before you leave for airport put them on before getting to ME - they can scan you in w/those and you don't have to mess with the paperwork!

Does anyone mind sharing the IT phone number you are using for assistance with Magic Band issues before your trip? A friend of mine is having issues linking their info for an October trip.

(If you are not comfortable posting it here, you can PM me or send an email to beachclubdee at yahoo dot com

Thanks!

I don't have the number on me, but if she calls the main reservation line she can ask them to transfer her to the MB/MM+ test team.

Dee, I used 407-939-7765. I believe it is Option #2: Internet Support (I think!)

Hope to post more later, this wifi is iffy. Got to get ready for apps in the lounge before dinner.

We are really enjoying ourselves this trip!!!!!!

I have never seen this room configuration before, but guess what? We checked into the YC club level waterview & got that exact room type! :rotfl:

The room seems large & roomy with only 1 bed & I think it gives Disney lots of flexibility. It's pretty close to the lounge tho. We usually like something further away for the quiet. We'll have to see how noisy it gets.

I hope you find one, they sold out fast today. Hoping to get one in a few weeks myself.

Nope, I didn't find one & you're right-- CM said they were gone in 5 minutes yesterday. The dimensions I'm reading seem a little too big anyway. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Room 2611 - looks out at lagoon, behind sand volleyball coury short walk from secret exit starwell, full balcony, and daybed....exactly what we hoped for!!
Walked over to EP for late lunch, used MDE app to bump up time for TT FP+ to 4:00pm It was 41 min total from time we entered line until finished....not exactly a "fast pass" :) Still like the old TT better. We swam in the quiet pool for a bit and now chilling in room before heading back for FP+ for Soarin and Illuminations tonight!

Hi,

When we get dropped off by DME, do we take our luggage ourselves to the check in area and then do we take our own luggage to our room?
Or will someone take them to check in and then anther person to our room?
Just working out if I'm tipping 1 or 2 people or any at all!

Thanks

Bumping-

Not entirely sure of the answer to this because we always have the luggage delivered to the room. We check it in at our home airport and then don't handle it again until it arrives in our room.

If you pick up the luggage yourself from baggage claim at the Orlando airport, I am guessing you claim it when the bus drops you off. A bellman/porter will probably come by to see if you need help bringing it to the check-in desk. Then either if your room is ready it can go right up, or if it is not ready, the luggage can be stored with bell services. You can have the help at any point, or refuse it. If your luggage is stored with bell services, you should tip when you pick it up.

Anyone have any further suggestions/comments?

MickeyT and Dee - Thanks for posting the ride photos. Such fun to see the cute little faces!

Priceless photos!!! Love them!

I am going to add my contribution: a photo before my son Nate became a thrill-junkie teenager. This was taken in 2004 at Storyland, the threshold theme park of many of us in the northeast:

I love that the expression on Nate's face almost mirrors the one on the Panda on the front of the ride.

.

The Bamboo Chutes!!! My family loves that ride

They have Dole Whips at Storyland. We are doing Santa's Village in October...Gingerbread...yum

Wow! Think I may have finally caught up! Take a week off and miss so much.

I always think about your liking the GF pool....thinking of renting DVC at GFV for 2 nights to just SEE it and then check into BC/YC for the rest of the week. Good compromise I think. I have tried AK, BW, OKW, SS, but BC YC always is my HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are doing this same split this December. Two days at GFV and then on to BCV.

Today I received a phone call from Disney... once again my Dolphins in Depth Tour is CANCELLED!!! I think I got the hint Disney.... YOU DO NOT want me to have an experience with the Dolphins!! I had this tour booked in 2011 and it was cancelled then too... Thought I was finally going to get to do it UNTIL the call came today... Just not meant to be and I'm really disappointed!!

So Sunrise Safari it is!

Ok that's my rant for the day!

~N

Bummer! At least you have a great backup plan!

AKL is my home resort... I always book CL at the 11 months and then if I can get into BCV's I move at 7 months. I've done the Sunset Safari as well, very cool! I have photos of the giraffes so close you could touch them! The dinner was amazing the chef would come out answer questions about each course and explain the wine to us. The wine collection at Jiko is amazing the restaurant offers only African wines and is home to the largest collection of South African wines outside of the African continent, and they are amazing!!

I don't find the bus ride terrible, but I'm probably the only person who doesn't, and I don't get motion sickness! I actually love AKL probably as much as I love the BCV area. If I can't get into BCV's I don't have a problem staying at AKL! My only complaint is it's a little dark, but I understand why so it's fine.

~N

ALSO... Just booked the Night Vision Tour!! I'll let you know how that one goes!!

Totally agree. Our home is AKL and we just spent our first few days there this August. Loved it! We found the buses to be great too! In fact, we kept saying how great they were that you don't have to share with any other resorts. That saves lots of time.

MickeyT and Dee - Thanks for posting the ride photos. Such fun to see the cute little faces!

Those pics are great!

We took care of our own luggage due to our late arrival into MCO. When we arrived at the YC, we took our luggage with us to check-in & up to the room. We were offered help, but we only had 2 bags so it wasn't a big deal to take them ourselves. I hope you have a great vacation!

Watched Illuminations tonight from the FP+ viewing area. Just some thoughts on that - great location! Just know there are no benches or anything to sit on. There is a low fence rail in the back of section to lean on. The side we were on everyone just sat on ground which was actually nice...all the kids (and short adults like me) could see everything! The other side of the section most people were standing. It was not too crowded - we sat w/legs out in front of us and had plenty of room to stretch. Overall i loved it and would probably use a FP+ for this again on nxt trip.

Saw someone answered yes to this. But, does that mean the "bad" refrigerators have been replaced already in all Beach Club rooms? Or have they not even been removed yet? I want to have groceries delivered but don't want to place the order for milk if there is a chance there won't be a refrigerator! :goodvibes

:welcome:

Would you like to be added to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1? What are the dates of your trip?

:cool1:

As others have answered, fridges are all replaced at the Yacht & Beach Club.

Another update for anyone who is interested.
*snip*

Off to AK, will post more later.

Thanks so much for your live report!

:goodvibes

My family had our first stay at BC in June and we LOVED it. Already considering our return trip, but am looking at Oct. Nov. or Feb. We absolutely love the pool and will want to swim daily...so I was curious if daily swimming is doable during those months. Thanks!

:welcome: back!

Please let us know when you end up booking.

:woohoo:

Here is the post I have in the Other Useful Info FAQ:

My trip is in December (November/January/February). Will it be warm enough to swim in SAB?

That depends. Where are you from?

The weather and temperature in Florida can vary greatly in the winter months. One day you are bundled up in coat and wool hat. The next you are in shorts. You can have extreme conditions in the same week.

The pools at Disney are all heated. The problem is usually not when you are in the pool, but it is the air temperature when you get out. Make sure you have a towel close by.

There is certainly a chance that one or more days of your vacation will be warm enough for swimming. As Scar so eloquently sings in the Lion King "Be Prepared!"

Pack your swimsuit and hope for the best!

Welp, sent my requests off for a view of the fireworks from the room to DVC. Hopefully it happens but if not, we'll still be at BCV! Looking forward to the pool!

When is your trip? I apologize if you already mentioned it. I didn't write it down.

:)

Hi there - we arrive at BCV Sept 24

*snip*

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list. I'll add you.

I think I have seen you post before, but just in case...

:welcome:

Been there many times. Still family owned. Canobie next weekend

Good 'ole Canobie. :thumbsup2 We have only been once this year, wanted to try to squeeze in one more trip, but it's getting cold!

Canobie is only 20 minutes from my house! :goodvibes
