This is almost EXACTLY what I just said to my DH! We have had two mornings with very heavy frosts and I had to scrape my windshields!!!

You arrive at AKL on Wednesday, we go to the airport park 'n' fly hotel. But we will see you in the CL on Thursday evening! Have a great trip, Nannette.

As of today, the earliest it could start I've been told is May 2014. It will be the BC first. We will not have a definite date until the rooms décor has been approved. From that date, they anticipate starting in six months. The lounge on the fifth floor of the BC will be first, followed by the rooms on the fifth floor, section by section. Then down to section by section on the fourth floor, then the third, etc. The minute I am told the room décor has been approved and thus a definite start will be announced, I'll let you know.

Ooh exciting. We'll be YC CL end of August. If I were a gambler, I'd consider switching over to BC CL. I'd love to try refurbed rooms. Saw some where (here probably :wave2:) the lounge is being made bigger which they totally needed. That was half the reason we were going to try YC.

Another great day at WDW! We spent the entire day at AK. Started with breakfast at Tusker House - awesome as always. Then two of our faves - Festival of the Lion King and Kilimanjaro Safaris, plus a new one - Expedition Everest. Ended the day with the kids totally loving the Boneyard (another first). I have to say - this our 9th trip to the World, and only the first time we've spent a whole day at AK - wish we'd done it earlier. What a great park!

Finished the day with a F&W date with DH, kids at Sand Castle Club, and we all had a great time. Tomorrow finds us at 'Ohana for an early ADR with the kids' absolute fave - Stitch - followed by an MK day with a FP+ lunch at BOG, and then dinner at Flying Fish. Should be another great day in the World!! :)

We loved Tusker House and the grandkids had a great time in the Boneyard. It was a great way for them to unwind - kid style. :)

Let me know how the lunchtime fp+ worked out. We have Nov 30th booked. :)

Thanks for the trip updates. It has been great to hear how your trip is going. :goodvibes

THANKS. Our dates are 11/30 - 12/6 :santa:

Great! I'll make the changes to the list

:)

Hi everyone,
I have not had a chance to catch up with the thread. But did want to stop in and say hi! We had a fabulous vacation! Busy but fabulous!
Teena- thank you so much for the advice, helpful hints and just saying hi! I know you are headed to California. Enjoy your trip! It was wonderful to meet you!

Beach Club was amazing! Loved our room! Loved SAB! Had a blast at the parks. Enjoyed the restaurants. And enjoyed our family. We were fortunate enough to get a rezzi at BeOur Guest (thanks for the link) and our lunch was a lot of fun in the West Wing! Would love to be able to stay again soon.

Thanks again everyone! I plan on stopping by again when life clams down a bit and my laundry pile return to normal!

So glad you had a great trip!

:woohoo:

I added a day to our March reservation. Our new dates are March 19 - 25, 2014. I figured we needed six nights at the BC GV in order to properly relax and enjoy it. :beach:

Sounds like a smart thing to do!!!

I'll revise your dates.

:goodvibes

Checking in quickly to say that I love the BC. :)

CL service has been outstanding. Sean and the staff have been amazing with the kids - we can't believe what they've done to make sure their birthdays are magical!

Yesterday was a big day, but lots of fun. Epcot in the am, back to BC to change into costume the off to MNSSHP. Much more crowded than last year's party, but great. Even got to meet Jack and Sally before we left - almost at park close! Needless to say, I'm the only one up. :)

Off to HS today, then a restful afternoon and evening at BC. Loving it!!!

Oh , I can not wait for Christmas to be here already , when i last check I have 59 Days left til we arrive at the BC, for about a week stay

:wave2: and :welcome: (again?)

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list. Late December?

:cool1:

DisMama3...I see on the BOG list we have the exact same dates for BC: Jan 18-26 (although my dates aren't listed on the post), or have yours changed? I am ordering tickets this weekend so I can get them linked and be ready for customizing MB's and adding PF+ hopefully shortly. 84 days!

I'll add your dates!

:)

Hi.
Sorry its taken a few days to update on our trip. Its been busy busy!
So on with the show!

We made it to the BC by 9pm Wed after taking 3 hours from touch down to check in, 3 hours!! DME had to stop at OKW, SSR, CBR, BW then at last BC.

Check in was fine with a lovely lady called Meredith. We got our birthday and celebrating badges and our magic bands were there waiting for us! She said our room had a full balcony and a day bed. Yay.
Got to the room, it was lovely but it stank, it smelt damp and i knew we couldn't spend the next 15 nights in here. So I did what I've never done before and went and asked for another room!!
Meredith was great again and went over the few rooms see had and said i would probably like 3522, near epcot with full balcony.
Yes it was lovely, no day bed but we had a crib delivered but DD2 was too long for it so we've got a roll away. It does hinder the opening of the balcony door but we can live with that.

All in all we are loving the BC.
SAB is great, DD10 is enjoying the pool parties and got to watch a movie on the beach last night.
The weather was cold Thursday but lovely yesterday.

The parks are alot busier then they were last time we came, soarin was out of FP by 930am and at a 70min wait by that time. Same with Toy Story. Glad we pre booked our FP's.

Magic bands working ok. First charging use didn't work as a credit limit had not been set and yesterday at DHS mine didn't work getting in the park but a CM just scanned it and asked were i had been the day before and I was let in.

Will update again soon. Must try a Sunken Treasure today.

x

Thanks for the update.

YIKES!!! 3 hours!!! Definitely not typical and NOT COOL!

But glad you are having a decent time- hope the rest of your trip is truly magical!

Good morning from the beach club!!!! I didn't post much but wanted to thank everyone for all the great advice/info/tips as they helped a ton already. Can I just say we love the beach club!!!!! We are completely sold and will probably never be able to stay anywhere else again (I'm actually kinda upset we are doing a split and switching to the poly on Thursday) we arrived yesterday and were booked for a standard room and while we were checking in I asked if my parents were placed near us and she said they were on the same floor but she would try to get us closer. Well she called and when she hung up she said sorry but since you are different room categories we can't get you right next to each other:confused3 we had both booked standard. So the wheels started turning and I was completely over the moon when we got to our room and were greeted with a towel animal and a gorgeous view of the .....LAGOON!!!!!! After a fabulous afternoon by the pool and an awesome burger at beaches and cream we headed to epcot for test track and soarin fast passes. Great day, awesome resort - we are in love!!!!

Have a blast!

Glad you are loving the Beach Club.

:cool1:

Hope Hump Day comes quickly for you!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. This 'being on an actual trip' business is interfering with my Dis boards time.

*SNIP*

Now for a commercial message brought to you from Joffrey's coffee. Our coffee tastes burned and Starbucky, which rhymes with yucky! (Nuff said....) You are going to want your DUNKIN!

I gotta run... the quiet pool is calling my name.

~NM

Thanks for the weather and drunk report. Hope both of the situations start clearing up in the next few days.

I'm with you on the DD! I'm not only a fan, I am a former employee- worked at a Dunkin for 5-6 years a gazillion years ago.

:welcome: (again?)

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list so I will add you for the end of August.

I don't think you necessarily have to be a gambler. As the spring goes on and summer arrives, we should have postings about how the work at the BC is going and whether the CL should be finished by your trip. Then you can see if you are able to switch.

:goodvibes

Teena, Jeanne, Lily and their friend Jim are in California. They are staying in Huntington Beach, but I think it was too cool to enjoy the beach on Friday. They spent the day yesterday at Disneyland!

Here are a couple of highlight photos:

Beauty and the Duck

Beauty and the Truck

Lightning Strikes

A Pair of Pretty Princesses

They spotted Adam Sandler and his family at the park, but they didn't want to bother them so no photos.

Help someone? Anyone? Nannette?

We've finally figured out how to make FP+ selections, and everything was going along swimmingly, until.....

We were making our final set of FP Reservations, picked our park, day and times...and it said that I have reached my FP+ limit.

What??

The other 2 members of my group are all set, but not me?

Weird huh? I'm the one who booked the trip, the resort, and DP and I both have shiny new APs...

Any ideas what's going on here? A kink in the matrix?

Any thoughts?

Thanks Dee. I teetered with a Poly reservation the last 3 months and couldn't hack the construction stress so I'm playing it safe with YC. I definitely plan on keeping my ears out and possibly switching over. I know there'll be good info here if it's happening in time. :thumbsup2

Thanks for adding us to the list.

The weather is actually a bit cooler than we expected. We were planning on swimming this afternoon, but opted for more Epcot time this morning instead. Hoping for warmer bathing suit weather in a few days. :)

Thanks! This really helped with packing!

Out of the All Stars resorts I would choose Music. It is less busy than Movies and Sports. I also thought it was well laid out and has nice landscaping.

I probably go with movies if you can get the AP rate there. With the food court closed at Sports all the guests staying there are being sent to music's food court. But then again, you are only there for a night. I have stayed at all all star resorts. Sports is my fav. Followed by movies then music. Enjoy your trip!!!

[/QUOTE]

We booked Music for tonight & check in to BC tomorrow am. We're in GA & scheduled to arrive around 830p if we don't need to stop a lot! So excited that were almost there! Thanks everyone for all your planning help!! I hope to run into some of u guys!

Yes it is a kink in the system.

This happened to us also. We had to call tech support. They could see what our party members had scheduled and that 2 of our group had "reached" their limit even though they hadn't. They worked their magic and copied our FP selections to the members who were over the limit and we were all set. So I would call tech support and have them help you.

Wednesday is very close!!!! Have a great trip Nannette! :-)

Thank you :)

Yes this happened to me as well. Because I am DVC there was something else going on and they took all the info and said to call back in a few weeks, but once my September trip was over I was able to book (this was all for the upcoming WEDNESDAY trip ;) ). It was so strange because I had booked like the first, second, fourth and fifth, but couldn't book anything for the third! Anyway long story short call tech support and they will help you out. These are the kind of problems they need to know about in order to get it all up and running smoothly so call!

Good Luck Scott!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. This 'being on an actual trip' business is interfering with my Dis boards time.

The weather report: The big news flash is that the weather has changed from humid, humid, humid to cool (At night, days are still sunny and warm) and breezy (slight). (THANK GODDESS!!!!) The temps are dropping into the low 60's at night with a slight breeze, so pack what you need for that.

We have been fine swimming when it is sunny as the sun warms you up enough to enjoy the pool. The hot tub here at CBR is also enjoyable if we should need the warmer waters....... so take advantage of the hot tubs at the BC/YC/BCV to sooth those tired bones.

Now we bring you the hour by hour Drunk Report at Food and Whine. This report is sponsored by Dewey Cheetum and Howe, attorneys specializing in DWI cases...

During the day the drunks are almost invisible and are easily confused with cranky people with small whiney children. At dinner time you see a lot of people who are in "mid drunk". You can tell they have been drinking and they are still ordering alcohol because NOW they are having dinner and they still think they can handle MORE, like eating food would make it better.. LOL

After dinner you see the people who have been drinking and touring ALL DAY leaving the parks after their livers tell them doing both to extremes is a BAD idea.

Late night is my FAVORITE time for "Drunk Watch" as this is the time you will see them. After Illuminations you witness a VERY SMALL NUMBER of roving packs of drunks screaming loudly about finding places to "do more shots". You can hear these people coming long before you see them so there are no worries about them causing you problems unless you are a bottle of vodka, then the will be ALL OVER YOU like a pack of vampires. I did witness a band of roving drunks (BORD) storm into Rose and Crown for shots only to be told by the Bartender to keep on moving so OUT they went!

All in all, the drunks are not much of a problem and that was on a Friday night, so I'm thinking it's peak drunk season. There are an awful lot of "Chattier than normal" people who are curious about your trip and where you are from and what you have been doing. We think this is delightful but if you are the shy, non communicative type then you might want to invest in one of those 'Brazillion' tour group T-shirts and chant 'no English' when some friendly souls tries to chat with you.

I have seen an increased uniformed security presence at food and whine, much more so than what you would see on a regular park night so that should allay some fears.

Now for a commercial message brought to you from Joffrey's coffee. Our coffee tastes burned and Starbucky, which rhymes w
ith yucky! (Nuff said....) You are going to want your DUNKIN!

I gotta run... the quiet pool is calling my name.

~NM

Thanks Ninja! We will be arriving in 2 hrs according to GPS!!!
Ps- I like the drunk report, I may become part of this statistic shortly...:lmao:
