Day 21 – Premium Outlets – Hoop Dee Doo (2)
I awoke quite early this morning to be greeted by a spectacular sunrise across the golf course. With Sue and Emma still sleeping, I grabbed my camera and had a gentle stroll around the main pool area. The lighting was superb and what made it even better, I seemed to be the only one around apart from the odd cast member on cleaning duty.

Returning back to the room, Sue and Emma were ready and waiting, so I had a quick shower and we headed to POR for breakfast.
Nigel: Fruit Bowl – Orange Juice.
Sue: Pancakes with Strawberries – Orange Juice.
Emma: Breakfast Platter – Diet Coke.

With today planned as a rest day, we decided to head over to Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue. By the time we had found a parking space, the sun was in full force and our first port of call was the Adidas store. We had a leisurely stroll around making full use of the air conditioning in the various stores. We made purchases at Levis, Vans, American Eagle and Oakley.
We returned back to OKW at around 14:30 and after offloading our shopping, we headed to the nearby quiet pool, Martin, Wendy and family were already there. The next hour passed quite quickly with us all playing around in the pool, before we headed back to the room to shower and change.
We caught the bus from OKW to Magic Kingdom where we had arranged to meet Margaret, Geoff and family at the boat dock for tonight’s ADR at Hoop Dee Doo Review. One thing I noticed that I had never seen before, was that Disney CM’s had set up a pin trading station at the dockside.

After a few minutes, both families had gathered and so we made the pleasant boat journey across Bay Lake to Fort Wilderness. We arrived at Pioneer Hall with plenty of time to spare and so had a stroll around and took a few photographs, before joining the queue to check-in. Soon the triangle was ringing, announcing a big welcome to us all.

Once inside Pioneer Hall, Geoff was in awe of the soaring ceiling, wrap-around balcony and the massive chandeliers. We were all soon seated in front of our tin plates and chequered napkins.

In no time at all, the doors burst open and the show had begun. The food was the usual offerings, but I still find this enjoyable and in keeping with the theme of the show. One thing worth mentioning is that Margaret’s eldest daughter Jess, is a vegetarian. We mentioned this to our server on being seated and the result was a huge pasta marinara dish that was enough to feed the whole table!

This is our sixth time of seeing the show and even though the script is the same each evening, the actors infuse audience participation and energy, to ensure that it is never the exact same show twice.

We chose mainly beer during the course of the evening, and managed to empty our jam jars on more than a few occasions, however the red wine left a lot to be desired resembling more like paint stripper! It was nothing like the few bottles of white wine, that Karen and myself had relieved them of, a couple of years earlier! Soon it was dessert time and the Strawberry Shortcake appeared.

It is noticeable that some servers will join the troupe on stage during the Strawberry Shortcake song. Next up was the audience participation of swirling chequered napkins around their heads, quickly followed by the appearance of the now famous washboards.

It was a great finale to the show and all too soon we were heading towards the exit.
We said our goodbyes and caught our respective buses back to our hotels. I heard that Geoff loudly announced to the whole bus, the arrival of “Jambo House”, which I think must have been confusing since they were heading to the Polynesian!......I blame it on the wine again. We reached OKW at around 22:00 and headed straight for bed.
