Day 10 – 1900 Park Fare – Walk Around The World

Another first for DDP on this trip was a reservation at 1900 Park Fare for a character breakfast at 9:00. We took the back road in, going past the front of Magic Kingdom and Polynesian before reaching the Grand Floridian parking lot. Check in was quick and we were soon directed towards the waiting photographer.

Our table was not ready yet and so we had a seat in the Grand Lobby waiting for our pager to signal us. After 5 minutes we were seated at the back of the room near to the buffet. Before we made an assault on the food, the Mad Hatter appeared and posed for a few photographs.

All in all, we made quite a few trips to the food bars, sampling quite a variety, but my favourite was the Lobster Benedict! :worship:

During our meal, we were also visited by Mary Poppins, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh and Alice in Wonderland.

Tigger was most amusing, since he crept up behind Sue and startled her! :rotfl2:

As we were leaving, we saw Martin, Wendy and family had recently arrived.

On the journey back, I noticed the fuel gauge was quite low, so I called at the Hess station at Magic Kingdom to refuel. We then continued on our way to the Florida Mall, as I wanted to purchase a connector from the Apple Store to transfer photographs onto my iPad. As we were wandering around the mall, Sue received a text from our friends Margaret and Geoff, who were enquiring about a time to meet up for the following evening with their family. Within a couple of minutes, by sheer coincidence, they met us head on near to the entrance of the food court!! We chatted for a while, made arrangements to meet tomorrow, and then we went our separate ways. Continuing on with our travels, within the next few minutes, we bumped into another fellow Dis’er - MuxtonMiley and family. We had a quick chat and then shortly after entering Hollister, another Dis’er popped up – this time it was Stephensmum. We spent quite a while discussing the epic journey they had taken to get to Florida from the UK. Microsoft were putting the finishes to their new store, which was due to open within the next few days.

A few more purchases from M&M, A&F and the Apple Store before we cut our visit short, owing to our planned evening tonight with Martin, Wendy and family.

Continued in next post……

We returned back to OKW for a rest, before all meeting up outside of our room. Tonight we were visiting Epcot, for a planned stroll around the World Showcase. As we were walking towards the bus stop, in the distance we could see a bus for Epcot was just departing and as he approached, the driver kindly opened the doors and let us board. Arriving at Epcot, once through bag check, we had a few group photopass pictures taken before having a browse around Art of Disney store.

Martin came very close to purchasing a very large picture of the Lion King, but I think he got cold feet! Moving on, myself, Craig and Emma decided to ride Mission Space, while the rest of the chickens waited outside!

With our mission successfully completed, we all headed in an anti-clockwise direction around the world, making our first stop to watch the British Revolution band in the UK pavilion. By the time their set was over, we headed to the Rose and Crown beer garden only to find that it was full. We eventually managed to get a couple of tables, however no chairs were to be found. We left the children closely guarding the tables, whilst us adults popped next door to get fish and chips. Soon, the fireworks started and I managed to locate a space against the wall to take some photographs.

After the show, I was asked to take a photograph of a group from Wales who had obviously been sinking the ales much longer than we had! Slowly continuing on, we made our next call at the Patisserie in France where a few of our group sampled some of the pastries on offer.

A quick stop in Morocco to take some photos and then our next call was Italy, where Sue and I had a glass of our favourite wine - Rose Regale.

I have looked to buy this in the UK but it doesn’t appear to be commonly available. Passing through the other countries, we made various stops to take photographs, a noticeable one being in Japan where we were serenaded by a group of frogs.

Looking closer, I managed to find one in full croak.

Returning back towards Spaceship Earth, we managed to sneak a final ride on Soarin’, just before the park closed at midnight. By this time we were all tired and the trek back to the bus stop seemed a very long way. A bus was ready to depart and we were soon back at OKW, finally calling it a day.

What a great day. I love walking around Epcot, especially at night. Actually I am definitely a night time person, given the choice!

I really like that photo of you all eating your snacks :rotfl: Brilliant! Did you watch Illuminations from the UK? You had a really nice view across the water from there. We've always watched from countries on the opposite side and the last few years, from Morocco with the reserved viewing that comes with the UK package. I think we will give this side of the park a go for next time :thumbsup2

Of all your photos in this thread, the one in Morocco at night is my favorite :thumbsup2 I love the mood captured in that one.

Love the photo of the frog :)

It may be a little bit sad but me and DH always spend ages looking for them when we are in Epcot - saw a huge bull frog there once :)

Epcot is quite magical at night how cute to get a good photo of the frog like that.
