Hi Teena!

Jim and & will be at WDW over Veteran's Day weekend (11/10-11/13), staying at POP. We plan on passing thru the BC on our way from HS to Epcot via the boat. If you are working then, we will hopefully get to see you. I believe that is the 1st weekend for the Osborne Lights. Will the BC lobby be decorated then?

Did I read back a few pages that free Wi-Fi is being tested at BC? I am wondering if I should bring my laptop.

Yes! Free wi-fi is now being offered at all of the deludes and Coronado Springs I think.

Yes bring your laptop. :thumbsup2

Very happy to see that they are now offering free Wi-Fi. It was so expensive before, and it feels like a must offer everywhere now, so I'm happy that Disney has finally caught up in this area.

Yeah Disney!

I haven't heard what day this year the elfs arrive to decorate. It's a different date each year.

Bob and I are flying to LA on 11/5 and meeting up with our best friends (from PA) and getting on the Disney Wonder on 11/6 for a 7 night cruise. I won't be back to work until 11/20.

So sorry I won't get to see you!

Hello BC fans!

Just a few additions:

1) BC water view vs. BCV: Agree with Teena. We prefer the decor of the regular rooms in nearly every Disney resort (although those Kidani rooms look great!) It really depends on priorities, but we'd choose the BC decor and the water view over the possible additional space and the kitchen (I actually prefer not having a kitchen on vacation.) I see you've selected a BC water view room and that would be our choice, too!

2) My hair is neither short nor thin. I've never brought my own hairdryer and found the wall-mounted ones were good enough at all Disney resorts and on the Dream. But I just checked my photos from August, and here's what I found:

Can you see that bag with the hairdryer under the sink? This was August 28, 2011 and I'm not sure if it's standard in all the rooms.

3) katesdad, I'm with you on the Poly. I've loved it since the early 80s and was just as happy during our stay this January. Really hope they don't do anything drastic.

This is such a nice review of the resort. I never thought of looking at youtube for videos. Thank you for the link even though it was for another poster.:)

I noticed in the video that the hair dryers are the wall mount ones. I am thinking that I need to bring mine along. I have very thick hard to dry hair and have never had any luck with the wall mount dryers. Are they still there?

Bummer! Last year at the GF they had a nice compact one in the closet. Don't remember the brand. But it was powerful! In fact even better than my fullsize one. I was hoping that BC had the same one so I could see what it was and buy one when I got home. Plus not having to lug mine around would be a big plus. Maybe I should invest in a nice compact size one before flying. If anyone has one that they love let me know!!:lmao:

We were just @ WDW in Sept. Stayed @ both YC & Grand Floridian. They both had the same hand held hair dryer. I found it just a little less powerful than the full sized one I use @ home. But definately better than the old wall mounted ones. The YC has had the hand held dryers for at least 2 years. I'm sure BC has them too.

Have a great trip!

Have a fantastic time!!!

Todays weather was so bad I can understand the delays but tomorrow should be better for you have a safe travel.

Thank you all! We're here now and LOVING it! DH is so happy (and he was actually worried). Our plane was delayed by about 30 minutes. We didn't do online check-in, but it took no time at all. BC is gorgeous. DH and I walked to Epcot for dinner at Teppan Edo and it was great. We stayed and watched Illuminasions then went to Beaches & Cream so DH could get some ice cream, (which he said was the best ice cream he has ever had).

We have a garden view room and we asked for a king bed, knowing that it would very slim that we would get one, but guess what we got one!! Which again made DH's day. When we came back from dinner and ice cream DH surprised me with balloons and treats in the room. We're staying in room 3592. We have early ressies for Crystal Palace tomorrow, so I should head to bed. Overall we are loving it here so far!

Sigh - I can't wait to walk back from Illuminations to my room, is it too soon to start packing?
glances @ ticker - almost 2 months, yep too early to pack.

I'm so excited that I'm less than 2 months away from my first xmas season trip :santa:

Quick question for a soon to be first time AP holder. I bought my AP online, so I'll be picking it up when I get to WDW. I'm booked with the AP rate, so I know I'll need to show the front desk my AP at some point, but do I need to get it before checking in? It's not a big deal if I can't, I can just walk over to the IG and pick it up, but it might be easier to check in first, send my husband to the room with the suitcases and then go pick up my AP while he's doing that.

Will they let me do this, or will they not let me check in until I can produce my AP?

Thanks :)

I had the same situation when we visited in August. I called and got them to email me a receipt for my AP's so I would have in hand when checking in. Can't remember if I had to show it or not but I just felt more comfortable having it.

Thank you both! Now I won't go out and have to buy one.:thumbsup2 I know it is silly to worry about and I appreciate you both taking the time to update me. I just hate to spend too much time with a dryer in my hands when we could be out having fun!;)

Sounds like a perfect start to you trip! I am glad that your DH's worries were unfounded and he is loving it too. I cannot imagine a more perfect location than to be right next to Epcot.

3 more sleeps!!!! but I'm too excited to sleep!!!! (I love that commercial)

Considering its Rapture day, I sure hope WDW is there on Monday. ;)

Sorry we'll miss you! :sad1: We are hoping the decorations are up by Veteran's Day. For some reason, we thought they were in the past. At least we'll get to see the HS lights for sure.

But have a wonderful time on your cruise! Sounds like it will be a blast. :cool1: Will you get to visit DL?

Maybe we'll catch you next time as we have ressies for MLK weekend in January and are getting ready to book Memorial Day weekend, too.

We are sailing 11/19 on the Oasis of the Seas for Thanksgiving week. We'll have to talk cruises when we both get back. :boat:

Have fun!

Peggy & Jim

You have a wonderful Thanksgiving on the Oasis. We spent last Thanksgiving on the Disney Magic and it was fantastic!!

We'll definitely talk cruises ... soon I hope.

We have a long one planned on January 23rd on the Celebrity Equinox .. 11 nights! Want to join us??

Our room had the 4 cup drip pot. It sounds like eventually all the resorts will get the pods, I hope anyway.

Just back. While we were there, they changed from the 4 cup drip pot to the pods on the 5th floor. I imagine they are all changed by now.

Also, to the person who wanted to know about the hair dryers...we had a wall-mount. It wasn't overly powerful, but got the job done.
