News flash! :mic: Here is your latest non BC related weather bulletin from beautiful Marlton NJ.

It's raining cats and dogs here in Marlton with a 50% chance of 'poodles'. Make that Large Poodles. Large Poodles with WAVES!

Dorothy and Toto just blew by, screaming something about a Disney Vacation Club time share in Oz.

Evan (DS 12) is hoping for an at home version of Storm Along Bay in the back yard. At this time the lazy river portion is ready for swimmers.

That's the latest from beautiful downtown Marlton NJ. Keep your channel tuned to this thread for more updates.

I love this post! I am so glad you are ok! Even in the mist of a stressful situation you were like a bright ray of sunshine!!! Both Joeseph and Charlie say hi and laughed to your post. Joeseph says if you build a SAB he will come!lol I hope the water is going away and life is getting back to normal for you!

We are hitting double digits to we leave! It has been a stressful year but the idea that in 99 days we will be getting in the car and heading towards Florida is exciting!

Thanks for keeping my family laughing this year so far!

Joeseph is welcome in my SAB ANY time! :thumbsup2

Life is getting back to normal for us. Yesterday we took a trip to Ocean City NJ and sat on the beach for most of the beautiful day. The beach was fine, mostly because the winds were westerly, blowing more sand up than washing it out and away. Then we hit the rides at night on the boardwalk. I took my camera and tripod for some long exposures and I was dismayed to see that they had removed the cars from the Ferris wheel!

So things at the shore are good but we also took a trip to Evan's new school for a "back to school picnic' and it's right on the banks of the Delaware river. The river is HUGE!!. I truly don't know how they are going to get those rail lines up and running anytime soon.

I've been thinking about all this weather related stuff and I have to say I'd be tempted to book flights.... if I knew a hurricane was going to hit the east coast/Florida area during my trip...... for a few days after my original departure date if I knew I was going to be down in Disney and might get stuck when it was time to leave.

I don't know the details now but I think I would do my home work before I left to see which airlines had what kind of cancellation policies and so forth. It seems that these days they have the planes filled to the max and there are no extra flights so they can't absorb the stranded travelers. Hopefully my scheme of booking an additional flight right before the hurricane hits for a few days after departure will save me time of the length of being stranded. I still can't get over that DJDbrit was stranded for almost a week!

Of course I would love to be stuck down in Disney for ANY reason, but I would have to find a way to send my husband back by any means necessary. He would be SUCH a pain in the ( | ) about being stuck and not being able to get to work that I would be forced to (lovingly) CLUB him over the head, put him in a BOX and take him over to that Convention center where they mail packages for you!

See!
Another Problem SOLVED thanks to the info on the BC/YC thread!

Going to BCR for first time in a couple of weeks. What is something really good at Beaches and Cream - besides the kitchen sink? Not ambitious enough for that. I LOVE peanut butter and caramel. And, what's good for little ones? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am glad to here that you were able to get out and about. The news reports of the Delaware looked grim. My step brother who drives truck sent a picture to my DH of some highway I think I-90 that was closed.

It would be neat if your vacation and my families would meet at some point. I am sure our boys would have a good time togeather at the SAB.

Have a good evening.

Hello all, still here at YC, looks like we cannot get out till Saturday. Am trying to embrace being at WDW for 15 days :). Going to MK tomorrow which should help!

Just thought I'd check in and ask if everything is going okay. Hope all is well both at home and at "home away from home".

Here at BC ... Got here Friday of last week and we Love it !!! Hope we can get home on Friday as many people still here are stuck from Irene ... Will post a full report when at home but wanted to say thanks for all the info from everyone here !!! :cool1:

I've searched all over, but can not find this info (if I overlooked it somewhere, I apologize).

Does anyone know the name of the current General Manager at the Yacht Club?

We were there last week and had a fantastic experience and I am writing a letter (the old-fashioned snail mail kind) to compliment some of the CMs who were the best we've ever encountered at WDW. We've stayed CL at the Poly several times and were never treated as well as last week at the Regatta Club. We will go back!!

Thanks.

Hi Y'all
We got back Sat. But it has taken me this long to unpack and relax. But I thought I would let you know how our stay was. We were at the YC CL the 22-27.
The first thing I have to stay about YC cl was that the people were absolutely wonderful. There were 4 that really stood out however I am terrible with names. They went out of there way to do everything they could for us, they were great about changing reservations and many water runs!:worship: While we were at disney my daughter chopped her hair at harmony barber shop. she got over 10inches cut off to donate to locks of love.On our last day they noticed that she had cut her hair and were talking to her about it. She told them what she had done and then, is it Diane I think, Brought her out a huge book of pins and told her since she was giving to others she wanted to give to her and let her pick any 9 (it was her birthday celebration too and she is turning 9) pins out of the book. she was so excited and had just really figured out pins and trading mid week so this just made her trip.It was so nice and completely unnecessary but this kindness is why we will be booking CL from now on. They were also great a keeping an extra eye on the kids when we had kids nite out in (which made me feel much better knowing if there was a problem my daughter could run out and get someone) (kids nite out will be another review, not sure if we will ever use them again) and fixing our dinning credits when hurricane hannas messed them up.
When we checked in we had a a couple small snafu's but nothing big. I had the IPO get the kids autograph books and penny press books so we would be all ready to go to our 1900 dinner when we got there, but they were no where to be found. They did however track them down before we had to leave for dinner. :thumbsup2 Then we also didn't have a crib in our room so we had to come back out and ask. Not big deals just felt like they weren't quite ready for us. We got our request to be close to the lounge and ended up in 5168 which worked great for us. The room was beautiful and pristine. Mousekeeping was great. We missed them the 1st day as we didn't realize you had to request a 12-2 cleaning and they hit us at nap time.

My only qualm with CL was the food. Breakfast was usally fine pastry's, fruit, cereal, oatmeal. The chips and dip were fantastic. However 5-7 was bleh.(I'm sorry please don't beat me up) I think that the only hot app we like the whole trip was the conch fritters, everything else was really bad. Also the cheese was always glossed over. My DD loved the PB & J though! We never made it for dessert so I can't speak about that. we were generally only back from about 3 to 6. even though we weren't to keen on the food. The beverage service I think paid for our upgrade between my DC in the morning, juice/milk for the kid, a couple beers and definitely the water. We tried the wine our 2nd nite and stayed away from it the rest of the trip:lmao: Over all we had a great trip.

As for the YC/BC in general the stores were helpful, Yachtsman was lovely, pool was great although we didn't get to use it as often as we would have liked. It seemed that even if it was sunny and blue sky's as soon as we got ready for the pool, it would start raining:confused3 Other than that they seemed to have a few problems with the buses for the YC/BC. Wed night we all waited over 45 for the 1st bus to come after wishes was over and it didn't seem to be much better friday night when we left during emh. The bus system may be why we choose a different resort next time. At least a monorail resort we would only need to take them 2 days and we could just plan to cab it.(we ended up taking a lot of cabs). Hurricane hannas needed some help. Soda area was swarmed by bee's not just 1 or 2 I'm talking about 20 or more. They also seemed to leave a trainee out front all alone who kept messing up orders we tried to get dinner for our DD before KNO came and got double dinged which on the dining plan seems to be a big deal as they don't seem to be able to credit you points back. CL just ended up giving us a credit for the meal missed off or bill.

Here is my last thing- tip for anyone who has an 8:05 ADR at Hollywood and vine on a normal park day. Get a cab!!! We didn't realize that there was no early transportation to DHS (boats start running an hour before opening) So we got to the boat dock at 7:00 and waited. After not seeing ant boats on the lake for quite awhile we decided to hoof it. Now my transportation guide said it was a nice 20 min walk. It's more like a 30 min hike or a 20min brisk hike (notice hike not a walk) We were ah... *glistening*:goodvibes by the time we got to Hollywood and vine and I ended up with the worst blisters on the soles of my feet from our hike as I wore shoes suitable for walking, stopping for a ride, then walking again and not hiking. :confused3 Anyways If you have time and are up a little workout before the park the walk is for you. If you think its just going to be a bit more than epcot or at least not wanting to glisten before you get in the park, you probably want to arrange other transportation. Side note the walk to epcot is awesome! Love having it that close.

That's great that you had a spectacular trip.

As far as I know, this is the address for the GM of the Yacht Club- this is where I sent a complimentary letter last year:

Mim Flynn, General Manager

The first thing I have to stay about YC cl was that the people were absolutely wonderful. There were 4 that really stood out however I am terrible with names.

We were there last week as well (8/20 - 26), in room 5231 (nice quiet location, but a hike to the lounge and elevators). Almost every CM we encountered at the YC was fantastic (our housekeeper was the exception - she did a good job, but was not friendly at all).

The Regatta Club CMs we really liked were Stephen, Virginia and Robin. Also Rashid, one of the Concierge managers was great in helping get a park ticket problem corrected quickly.

I have to agree with most of the comments about the food in the lounge. However, we really enjoyed the lobster salad and crab rangoon they served on Thursday evening. Everything else was ok, but nothing really special.
