We stayed in the same location - loved it (and we liked the ducks - my dd waited for them every morning). I was ok with them until they invited themselves into our room.

So I guess they were "peeking" ducks??

Bwa ha ha ha ha ...

That was so bad I'm signing this MMnonymous

We're coming back to the Yacht Club in November!! We're getting married at the Polynesian Beach (staying at GF for 2 nights) then moving over to our beloved YC-CL (SV was all that was available--but we'll take it) for our "Disneymoon". We stayed there May 2010 and I was very sick the entire 8 days--everyone was wonderful and helpful and I can't wait to return!

Mike- if it is not too late to put in a request for info...

If you get a chance, could you check prices of some of the staples at the Marketplace and report back:

1/2 Gallon of Milk: $X.XX
1/2 Gallon of Juice
Dozen Eggs
Loaf of Bread
Jar of Peanut Butter (I suspect folks are better off packing this!)
Fruit: banana, apple, orange

and any other frequently consumed items I may have forgotten.

Thanks!!!

Build a Better Mousetrip has not posted the BC movie schedule for August yet, but they do have the schedule up for other resorts, so I am hoping they will have the list today.

Here are a few $$$$.
1/2 gallon of milk $3.15
1/2 gallon of juice - none in stock
Small orange juice container $2.39
Dozen eggs $1.95
Assorted Fruit $1.38
Loaf of Bread $4.59
Look on CM at register when I asked "Well if you had peanut butter how much would it be?" :confused3 priceless.

We are staying at the YC CL water view in November. I want to request a lake view room, instead of the SAB view. We like to leave the balcony doors open at night.

Do the Friendship boats toot their horns late at night (when Epcot stays open late) and early in the morning or do they start at a certain time.

What time do the boats leave to go to HS if the park opens at 8?

Not trying to burst your bubble but not only may it be very hot in November but you will get lots of bugs in at night. ( the air does not turn on if the doors are open)

hi again all, sitting here catching up on all the pages...to be honest with you all, getting nervous about the room/view...we booked a standard room ...and after seeing some of the pics..and posts...getting a little disapointed...
I truly thought the BC was a great choice..for our 1st EVER in the park stay..now not so sure...please calm my fears.....

Any Deluxe that you stay at with 'standard' views is going to be on par with BC/YC.

It's the lowest price so you're going to get a view that reflects that, but I'd take a crappy view at a good hotel, because I'm probably going to spend about .005 of my vacation time looking out the window. A cool view is great but it's one of the last things on my list of what I want out of a vacation.

With the BC/YC you're paying for SAB, the short walk to Epcot and the ambience of the resort. To pay a little extra for a good view is okay, but even with a view of trees or roofs, or parking lots all the other stuff is still yours to enjoy. Where does view stand on your list of what you want from your vacation? If it's a main point then upgrade your view or downgrade your resort so that you can request a non parking lot view, though to downgrade your resort that means a mod where you have no balcony and your view out the window is the walkway outside your room THEN the resort.

I think if it's really the ambience you want then even a roof view that then looks out over BC is still better than a mod or value prefered room.

As some of you know we have a vacation planned for this week...Universal for 2 nights and the beach club for 6 nights. :cool1: My hubby works for the phone company and they may be going on strike this Saturday night at midnight:scared1:. We may have to postpone this trip until November, but right now I am sitting here typing with my fingers and toes crossed that all goes well!

The reason I am posting is to find out if there is anything that anyone wants me to find out while down there:flower3:. Prices on items or information or photos of anything.

I am crossing my fingers and praying that Teena will be feeling better by then. We have been waiting to meet her for quite some time. (I don't know that she will be well enough to work by then). Get well soon Teena so you can go visit that beautiful grandbaby of yours!!

My family is doing the same...except we arrive in Orlando a day after you! I am crossing my fingers for you that there is no strike! Teena is one special lady! My family met her last year during our first BC stay. She greeted us right after we walked through those doors! I was on cloud 9...to finally get to the BC and so excited to meet Teena!!

Kerry

Welcome back Robyn! Aside from the early 'snag', sounds like you had a wonderful vacation! What a nice 'Nanny' shower you organized for Teena. We all enjoyed seeing the pictures. Funny how you saw YCFAN (Hi Nettie!) and remembered her from last year. Can't wait to hear more!!

I truly thought the BC was a great choice..for our 1st EVER in the park stay..now not so sure...please calm my fears.....

We stayed here for our first on-site and I think any view would be OK, unless you are really into sitting outside and looking at the scenery the whole time. We have 3 kids under 11, so we were on the move all of the time, the portion of the time spent in the room seems so minimal compared to the time that you are out enjoying everything else Disney has to offer. When I go to the beach, a like to sit out and look at the ocean, but there isn't much else to do at the beach but enjoying the view. I want oceanview there and would be very unhappy with something else- at the Beach Club, to me, the view is not that significant to stress over.

Don't worry - I think everything else that the Beach Club offers would out weigh a room that does not have a glamorous view.

I can't wait to go back someday - doing Branson in 2012 but planning Disney in 2013 before DD turns 10 and becomes a Disney adult. We will stay at the Beach Club again.
