Day 27 – Farewell Disney Dream – Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek – Cheesecake Factory

They reckon that all good things come to an end and today was that day. We were all awake and ready to go by 6:45. With just a few odds and ends to pack, we said our farewells to Chris our room attendant and then decided to skip breakfast and leave the ship for the final time. As we were disembarking, we managed to grab a family photo together with Captain Henry.

The non-US Custom line was completely empty and we make our way toward our awaiting luggage, which had been stored in military style and order. As we drove out of the garage we had one final glance at the ship and noticed that the time was 7:30.

A slow quiet drive back as we headed towards Downtown Disney before reaching our first stop at Earl of Sandwich for breakfast.

We had a slow wander around the shops calling at World of Disney, trenD and the pin traders etc. Soon it was time to make our way to our final resting place for this visit back at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. We arrived at around mid-day and was greeted by Bell Services who collected our luggage from the car. Once we had our room allocated, Sue informed Bell Services who later delivered our luggage to the room, in the meantime I parked the car in the multi-storey car park. Our room (1139) had a super view overlooking the pool and golf course, which was shared with the Waldorf Astoria next door.

Most of the afternoon was spent in the pool, chilling out and reflecting on the last few days aboard the Dream.

Showered and changed, we made our way over to Mall @ Millenia, where we had arranged to meet up with Martin and Waynes families for a final gathering at the Cheesecake Factory. It was extremely busy when we arrived which resulted in almost an hour wait before being seated.

Nigel: Chilli Burger with Fries – Diet Coke (no dessert!)
Sue: Fish and Chips – Strawberry Cheesecake – Diet Coke
Emma: Filet Mignon with fries and onion rings – Carrot Cake – Diet Coke

We said our final farewells at around 9:30 before making our way back to the Hilton.

Back at the hotel, Sue and I had a glass of wine, watched TV for a while before calling it a day.
