Day 21 – Downtown Disney – Yak & Yeti – Magic Kingdom EMH

Back to our usual this morning for breakfast at POR.

Nigel – Omelette with ham, swiss, pepper, onion & mushrooms – Vitamin Drink
Sue – Pancakes with scrambled eggs and strawberries – Vitamin Drink
Emma – Bounty Platter – Diet Coke

After breakfast we had a drive to Downtown Disney and had a wander around various stores. As we were nearing the end of our stay in Disney, we made an effort to use up our surplus snack credits at Goofys’ Candy Store. Here we managed to get rid of 11 credits on various pieces of candy to take back to the UK.

We then had a drive over the Barnes & Nobles book store on South Orange Blossom trail to purchase some computer books. Returning back to OKW, we made the most of an empty pool with a good 3 hour session where Martin, Wendy and family joined us a little later.

Tonight our ADR was Yak n Yeti at 17:45 and we had deliberately chosen a later time knowing that the park would be closed by the time we left the restaurant. Arriving at the park, it seemed most strange to see most of the guests travelling in the opposite direction to the exit.

Nigel – Bourbon Chicken – Cheesecake – Diet Coke
Sue – Sweet n Sour Chicken – Cheesecake – Diet Coke
Emma – Sweet n Sour Chicken – Chocolate Cake – Diet Coke

Unfortunately when the meals arrived, Emma was presented with the wrong dish, the server was apologetic and returned to the kitchen. Sue and myself decided to continue with our meals since this type of food tends to go cold quickly. Halfway through our meal, Emma had still not been served and unfortunately a manager appeared at our table asking if everything was OK. Needless to say, the meal arrived very soon after! On leaving the restaurant, the park had eerie feeling with the majority of remaining guests being squirrels however we managed grab a few photo opportunities on our way out.

Tonight was Magic Kingdom EMH and we had arranged to visit together with Wayne & Martins’ families and we all met up at the bus stop at Millers Road in OKW. We wandered around the park, stopping off at various places having a rare ride on Jungle Cruise. On exiting the ride, Sue found $20 note together with an ID card, which she handed in to the CM. Over to Splash Mountain, we rode on two groups of five, where Wayne & Matt insisted on riding in the front seat. :rotfl:

Next we went on Big Thunder Mountain, one of my favourite rides in the dark. A quick stop at Peco Bills for a drink and then we made our way to the Haunted Mansion. On passing the Liberty Bell dock I accidently kicked an object on the floor and found that someone had dropped a compact camera, which I handed in at City Hall later in the evening, as we exited the park. Haunted Mansion was a walk on and I heard some strange knocks on the doom buggys. Next up was the carousel and for the more adventurous (myself, Craig and Matt), a warp speed journey on the Tea Cups. Carrying on around the park we called at Space Mountain but a few of us decided to sit it out. Our final stop off for tonight was at Buzz Lightyear, where I think Wayne came out as top scorer. A slow wander down Main Street where the clock was showing 1:15. I tried a panoramic group shot but the lighting was quite low. We caught the bus back to OKW and reached out beds by 2:00.

Coming up next – Packing, Pop Century and Crystal Palace.

Enjoying your trippie, looking on target to getting it finished before you go back. What time did you go to MK? We're going to try going late this year, usually we go about 7pm & have had enough by midnight, so don't get the benefit of a diminishing crowd.

Hi Sharon

Hopefully, I should be back up to speed with the reports again. Hectic at work, with only one day off since New Year :scared1:
I think we arrived around 20:30. A lot of people were claiming their spots for the parade and fireworks. This is a good time for hitting the rides plus a chance to see the parade again later :thumbsup2
