Day 14 – Tax Free Shopping & California Grill

The back to school tax free shopping weekend starts today, so we were up bright and early arriving at the Florida Mall for 9:45 am. As usual we parked outside JC Penney and had a wonder around the store. I purchased a pair of Levi 501’s for $40, which compared to prices back home was a bargain. Other bargain stops included Hollister, A&F and Aeropostale. Returning back to the food court, we did a quick circuit of free samples before deciding on some Chinese food. We all opted for Bourbon chicken/Honey chicken with fried rice and diet coke. On our way out of the food court we called into Starbucks for a Strawberries & Cream Frappuccino. Next we headed over to Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue. The car park here was bursting, however we managed to drop lucky and grab a space as someone was just leaving. We made a few more purchases in Adidas, American Eagle and Oakley before returning back to OKW around 5:30 pm. After emptying the car of our shopping, we went to POR for ice creams.

We returned back to OKW to shower and change, then drove to the Contemporary for our 21:20 ADR at the California Grill. We checked in at the desk downstairs where we were given a pager and then we took the lift to the top floor. Quite a few people were waiting to be seated so we had a look outside on the balcony. Our pager finally went off at 21:50 some 30 minutes later however this was compensated by a superb window seat overlooking the Magic Kingdom.

I went outside to watch the fireworks whilst Sue and Emma watched from the comfort of the table.

The service was good and we were not rushed despite being seated late. We finally left the restaurant at around 12:15 for a slow drive back to OKW.

Coming up next – Hollywood Studies and Grand Floridian Cafe

Food looks fantastic at CG, never been there before, might have to change that! Great view of the fireworks, though can't get over how odd it looks given that my 'normal' perspective is from in front of the castle! Hope I'm there for the tax free shopping next year!!!

Looking through your trip pie as have the Disney. Luke's.

Great report Nigel:thumbsup2. You look like you were sat in the same area as us in cg

CG always seem to be running late, excellent table though, i've never gotten a window seat.
