I've read lots on this board about the mis-claim that was due to an error on Virgin Holidays uk brochure about the lack of dessert for 2011 and the extra snack.

I know this has been corrected now that disney have launched their product for 2011 but thought you might be interested to know that I received my final invoice for my 2010 holiday today and Virgin are apologising for their misprint in their brochure relating to next year's dining plan.

:goodvibes

Interesting. Because Disney UK and Complete Orlando both noted the changes in their recent brochures too. Seems like a lot of 'misprints' I wonder if they are going to apologize too?

Thankfully everyone can breathe now after all the months of speculation! :thumbsup2 Thank you for posting this. :)

Maybe just maybe this was the plan from the get go and Disney realized maybe they were going to make a mistake and revised it. Whatcha bet?

That's kinda what I wondered. I've read on here about so many people calling and writing Disney that I can't imagine that they didn't start to wonder how many MORE people (besides those who called/wrote) were going to be upset.

Well those were the lines I was thinking along - a little too odd to be coincidence - but I tried to be, er ...... tactful :lmao: when wording my post since I don't have any facts to go on (unless a bit of logical deduction counts).

Maybe we should have complained a bit more when they took the appetizer off the DDP.

I agree. But I wonder if they had planned to increase the price too? I don't think deleting the dessert and increasing the price would have gone over too well. So if they deleted the dessert, they may not have increased the price like they have. Plus factor in the resort season changes. All those at once would really have caused an outrage.

I agree, but I do not think the dessert on the QS meals is at all worth the daily increase.

I have booked a trip through Virgin Holidays for 2011 so I guess I will get notified about the mis-print when I get my tickets

So is the regular DP staying exactly the same as the 2010 plan?

I was wondering if id get the info then too :)

The plan is almost the same, the only difference is if you use your counter service at breakfast- you used to get an extra drink to replace the dessert option you get with lunch/dinner, theyve now scrapped this.

I don't think there was an intention to remove AND increase the price. I know there was a reported increase in price on the rumor thread, but it is worth bearing in mind that this information was printed for British guests. It happened to coincide with a period where the £ had taken a big and rather rapid plunge against the US$. You simply cannot look at international price fluctuations and assume that they are indicative of what is going to happen in the US. It has always been this way. Hope that helps. :goodvibes
