2011: The Year of the FOOD 5 Trips Worth of Dining Reviews! UPDATE 11/23

I say that literally every single day of my life. I don't know what to do with myself because I'm passionate about Disney, which isn't a major, and musicals, which are too hard to get into. I just don't know what to do :sad2:
Haha I was thinking about doing marketing too, though! Actually it's one of my current majors. (we'll see if I keep it.) I know exactly what you're talking about. OBSESSED with Full House :)
Hahahaha I would be so very honored if you mentioned me in my speech :worship: It would be worth the blank stares. :thumbsup2
And yeah... me too. It's getting me through my depressed college days. Not kidding.

I know right! Maybe by the time I'M in college.....

haha. I can dream right??

omigosh. I LOVE full house. I use up all of our space on our DVR for that show. My favorite is still the Disney one...that and the one when Joey accidentally crawls in bed with Danny's mom. hysterical!!

I'll be sure to keep you in the speech. NO problem.

haha...is colege really as bad as everyone says it is?? I toured Rice UNiversity ne time and Houston Baptist and Univ. of Houston, and it sounds cool. I cant WAIT for college. I mean...Iknow i won't be all fun and games. But it sounds like a great adventure.

"I want adventure in the great, wide out THER! I want it more than I can bearrrrrrr...." :goodvibes

The 50 movie challenge is just where you watch all 50 Disney movies in order over the summer. :) It was really fun. I had a few Disney sleepovers, where I basically FORCED my friends to come over and stay up late, watching Disney movies. Then...we would have popcorn in mickey bowls, drink milk (or...in my case...water) in minnie cups with the light up ice cubes of Buzz or Tink or Mickey you can get at the restauarants. Then...go to my Mickey bed and fall asleep listening to my loop of Disney classic music. They would all end up the same way. Waking up and immediately calling their moms to come get them away from this freak's house. haha.

That's so cool. Are you a big theater person?? I am HUGE on it!! Sadly, in our district, we don't have in-school drama until high school, so I have to wait. SO, right now...I'm occupying myself with community theatre and some film work (commercials, modeling, etc.). I am SO excited for next year, being a freshman at our High SChool, so I can do some THEATRE...

And who knows?? Maybe I'll meet some Disney-lovers, too! I pray that will be the case.

I. Need. Someone. To. Vent. Disney. Too.

I seriously don't know how much longer I can go without a true Disney friend.

I have the list printed out, but-and I'm sorry-I don't feel like typing all of them right now. SOooo...I was gonna post a link to the website, but my computer thinks it knows everything and doesn't wanna listen to me. :) So, I can't give the link to you. However, I know that if you googl '50 disney movie challenge' the first result should be a link to somewhere here o the DIS and that is the right link. If I'm remembering correctly.

Oh, yeah. I know what you mean. There just isn't that many 13 year olds in the world who have gone to Home Depot for room decorating supplies and tools and instead come home with mickey head paint samlpes. Which they then proceed to cut out and plaster around their room. Then...of course, there's the dwarves lining the top of my desk, and the Ariel fish tank with my fish...named Dory. And...so on. My school is having a dance next week in honor of Halloween, and as V. Pres of Stuco, I am required to attend. I am also in Yearbook, and we are doing these little marketing things that relate to your custume. I chose to go as Belle cuz I've got the kind of look going for me. My marketing slogan was going to be, "Be a Beauty, not a Beast. Buy your Yearbook." Yeah...I know. Cheesy. Oh well. Today, however, on my search for a costume, I discovered the lack of Belle costumes made to fit teens. Of course...there's the 'Sexy Belle' and 'Sassy Belle' and 'Vampire Belle', but I think I'd like to stick with classic DISNEY Belle.

Yeah. I have this one friend that LOVES Disney and all. But, she's a bit clueless. AND...she's never been to Disney! THe poor thing. ANy time I try to talk Disney with her, she starts freaking out. She just needs a little bit of training form a certain someone...:rolleyes1 Then...she'll be all ready to take on the World. She would totally go see late night DIsneys with me and all, but she's just a SMIDGE annoying. And she kinda annoys my parents. You know the type. Love her to death...but she needs to tone it down a few notches. Not that I don't love craziness and being hyper...ask anyone withtin a 10 mile radius. She's just...different.

So far...(in community theater), I was-going in order-:
3rd Grade- A Little Princess (Lottie)
Emperor's New (Taylor the Tailor)
4th Grade- The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Gladys Herman)
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (minor character-dwarf)
5th Grade- Jungle Book (Raan the Kite Bird)
Sound of Music (Louisa)
The Last Orphan Train to Texas (Iris)
6th Grade- Esterday (Susan)
Annie (Annie)
Gonney Bird Greene (Gooney Bird Greene)
7th Grade- Life With Mother Superior (Mary Clancy)
8th Grade- The Best CHristmas Pageant Ever (CURRENTLY)(Imogene Herdman)

So...that's my theatre experience. Then...last fall I got into an agency for film and commercial. I've had one modeling job with Academy and a few other auditions. But, that's pretty much it.

Theater and Disney are my life. No joke.

My one regret is that I haven't taken voice lessons. The way our schools worked when I was in 6th grade was you had to choose either Band or Choir. And say you chose band...you couldn't EVER do choir til HS. Cuz 6th grade was the Beginner's year. And the rest of the band,..or choir...didn't wanna have to stop so one person can learn the difference between C and G. Y'know? So...as an idiot...I chose band. Worst mistake of my life. I played the trumpet. Only girl in brass. Whole year I was miserable. But...they wouldn't let me switch out. After that year, I dropped out. BUT...of course...they wouldn't let me in choir. So, I had to take art and other stuff like that. Well, now that rule has changed, but for the past couple years, they wouldn't let me in choir...so I would be a LONG ways behind everyone else. So, I didn't try out for choir. However, I got placed in it. I was so excited...yet still nervous. I thought it was fate. It was meant to be. I was going to learn how to SING!!

Let's fastforward a bit shall we?? First day of schol. Go to choir. Walk in. Greeted by teacher. "Welcome, Mixed Choir. Be sure to pick up your textbook before sitting down." Textbook?? That's a little strange. But...I just brushed it off. The teacher walks out of the room to go talk to another teacher after a while of talking to us a bout rules and such. The moment the teacher walks out of the room, one kid jumps up, screaming, "Let's PAR-TAYYY!" Wait...what? What the Mickey is going on here? We're not supposeed to PAR-TAYYY! We're supposed to sing. Y'know...with our voices!! Wait a second. Why is that kid picking up the chair. Whoa! WHOOSH! Okay..I may npot be too choir savvy, but I know that chairs are supposed to stay on the ground...and not be THROWN ACROSS THE ROOM!!!
Yeah. After about a week, I learned that MIXED choir is not choir at all. It's a blow-off class for kids who need credits. I was switched out of there in an instant. I would like to keep all of my bodyparts thank you! :)

So..no choir for me. Until next semester, anyways. The counselor is gona try and do some switching around a bit with schedules amd work something out. We'll just have to see.

All in all...I'm kinda nervous about next year because I have no voice coaching. Of course...I've been in musicals before. But...never a HS production. I've had people tell me my voice is good, but I need to hear it from a pro or a TRUE coach before I walk on stage struutin m stuff thinking I'm all that...and then crack some windows. Y'know?

I'm still praying for a Disney friend to come along. I'm seriously ready to put an ad around the school.

NEEDED: DISNEY OBSSESSOR. MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH.

Hi LionKingDramaQueen-

Back in my high school days I was very involved in Drama also. I had the lead role in my senior play & had a blast. I wish I would have kept it up!! I really wanted to go to college for drama but did not end up doing it.

Follow your dreams & keep at it!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would love to have you over on my TR. It is in my signature (bieber in the title).

To OP-We love Prime Time. Have not been in a while as we also love Mama Melroses but seeing these pics makes me want to go back badly!!!

Do they still how the desserts through a viewmaster??

i LOVE 50's prime time! It seriously is SOOOOOO amazing! I pretty much ALWAYS order the fried chicken :) It really is amazing! If you are ever not hungry and not on the dining plan the chicken soup is also great! I am also a HUGE fan of the smores! They are my go to dessert there! The shakes are also amazing. My mom also gets the chicken pot pie and always LOVES it and always licks the bowl clean! All of your other foods look great as well!

I love it too!! It really is :) Yum - good choice! I will keep the chicken soup in mind! Everything there just tastes fantastic. YUM!

I love food, too!

Oh good! I'm glad I'm not the only one  Thanks for reading!

I know right! Maybe by the time I'M in college.....

haha. I can dream right??

Hahahaha if only  I would go back to school if that ever happened.
Yup that's my favorite show OF ALL TIME! LOL those are both good ones. The Disney one is my favorite... and the Christmas one in the 8th season. And a few others too that I can't think of. That show really is the best thing ever created.
Oh thank you!
Well... I don't know. It depends on what day you ask me. Because some days I'm like "I hate my life!!" and then other days I'm like "oh this is fun!" But it will NEVER beat high school. Enjoy your time now - it's SO much simpler and less stressful. Seriously.
Haha nice reference ;) Belle is my dream role.

Yum... I haven't been to Mama Melrose in a long time! Every time I see a picture of chicken parm I want to go :rotfl: But yes, 50's is great! I was stuck on it for years... I ALWAYS went every trip. Since I'm trying some new places... I'm taking a break from it for now. But I'm sure I'll go back soon!
You know what... I am trying to remember and I don't think they did :( I am thinking they were on a regular menu. Which makes me really sad. I hope I'm wrong... but I'm not sure.

YUM CHICKEN.

I love 50's. It's such an entertaining experience.

YUM! I'm hungry.
I love it too. It really is tons of fun!

I'm glad I'm ot the only one wo loves that show. It cracks me up.

No problemo!! :goodvibes

Ooooo...I gotcha. Well, let's hope that majority of MY days at least will be "oh this is fun." :)

That's what I've heard about High School. That it is a lot of homewok and stress and pressure but still the best years ever. I can't wait til next year! :goodvibes

Yeah I hope so too! It's a huge adjustment. But if you are excited, it's going to be even better!
Hahahahaha there is DEFINITELY a lotttt more homework in college. High School seemed like the simple days. Just enjoy it. It seriously is a lot of fun :) Those were the best four years of my life.. not to be cliche ;) The fun really starts junior year though. Because you know what you're doing, yet you still have some time left. So just enjoy it! I can't believe my high school years are over already. :sad2:

I'm sorry I don't have the best pictures for this update, but we had to take them on Kristen's phone. I forgot my camera. I guess I was just an amateur diser at that point of my life

Pepperoni and Vegetable Flatbreads:

downsized950117112147.jpg

I ordered the vegetable flatbread and it was AMAZING. It was one of the best flatbreads I have ever had on Disney property. The vegetables were very fresh and they just looked delicious! I usually don't even order vegetable pizzas, so I don't know what made me get one. But I'm glad I did! Unfortunately, I think that this is a special, so they don't have it every day. However, if they have it, GET IT! It's REALLY good.

Smart Water and Yogurt Parfaits:

downsized950117112149.jpg

Smart Water is good. It tastes like... water. So ya know. I don't have much to say about that. The yogurt parfaits were... eh. They actually weren't very good. There were nuts mixed in the granola, and it threw the texture way off. None of us really liked them. They aren't like the yogurt parfaits you seem to get everywhere else on property. Oh well.

Pecos Bill Cafe
January 18th, 2011

Pecos Bill is my favorite Counter Service in the Magic Kingdom, tied with Casey's Corner. SO GOOD! I love a good burger, but I don't order them just anywhere! I definitely like them here though :) YUM!

Our Tray Full of Food:

Deluxe Angus Cheeseburger:

dsc0740q.jpg

This is what my Mom got. It is your basic burger, but it has onion rings on it! Mmm that has to be healthy. But she really liked it and said it was great!

Cheeseburger:

dsc0737a.jpg

Kristen and I both got this. YUM! I can just taste it now. I really love the burgers here. I have always found them to have lots of flavor. I have to pace myself when I'm eating because they are just that good! Also, the fries were really good here! I think they're the same ones they serve at Casey's. But hey, why mess with a good thing? ;)

Pulled Pork Sandwich:

dsc0739i.jpg

This is what Vickie's Brother ordered. I have never had a pulled pork sandwich from Peco's Bill before, but they look fantastic. Vick's Brother, Tim, seems like the kind of guy who speaks his mind, and since he didn't say anything bad about this, I'm assuming he enjoyed it!

Taco Salad:

dsc0744d.jpg

This is what Vickie ordered! She liked it a lot. If you get this, you can have LOTS of fun at the topping bar. There are so many things you can add to your salad!

Yoplait Yogurt:

dsc0743v.jpg

Since this was nearing the end of the trip, it was nice to have an option of getting yogurt. I love yogurts, so this tasted great after that big meal! It was nice and cold. Perfect!

Carrot Cake and Chocolate Cake:

dsc0742f.jpg

dsc0741rh.jpg

Ah, yes. The classic Disney World cake cups. Of course they was delicious! Nothing special, of course, but tasty nonetheless.

I think we will be going to Pecos Bills on Thurs. I love the looks of that taco salad!!! DH loves him a good burger.:thumbsup2

This was probably the longest wait I have experienced so far this year. We had to add an extra person to our party, since Vickie's brother was visiting. I think they forgot about us because we had to ask a few times if we were going to be seated anytime soon.

I didn't know how the meal was going to be after that, but the food DEFINITELY made up for that delay. This was one of my favorite buffets EVER!

And also, the character interaction was GREAT! The step sisters were hilarious, Lady Tremaine was stubborn, Prince Charming was charming, and Cinderella was a sweetheart! It was a lot of fun!

(From Left to Right) Caesar Salad, Prime Rib, Mashed Potatoes, Cheese Pizza, Yellow Rice, Salmon, Buttered Noodles, Pasta with Marinara Sauce, a Roll, and Green Beans:

dsc0805t.jpg

Yes, folks, this is my plate. I got a little crazy and took one of almost everything. :rotfl: I can't control myself at buffets. Anyways, out of this whole plate, the real winner was the SALMON. Salmon is my favorite fish, and when I find a good one, I get really excited. It was absolutely phenomenal here! The flavor was very delectable. Everything else was really good as far as I can remember. I didn't have any complaints!

(From Left to Right) Pizza, Pasta with Marinara Sauce, Strawberry, Buttered Noodles, Bread, Mac and Cheese, Salmon, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Yellow Rice, Caesar Salad and Green Beans:

dsc0806r.jpg

This is Kristen's plate. She got a lot of the same foods that I did, only she took a much more reasonable amount. :lmao: She liked everything a lot, and we were both extremely impressed with this buffet!

Salad, Vegetables, and I Don't Know What:

dsc0807k.jpg

This is my Mom's plate. She's a pretty adventurous eater, so I have no idea what is on her plate. But here's the picture anyway!

(From Left to Right) Salmon, Caesar Salad, Fruit, Broccolini, Asparagus, Rice, Pasta with Marinara Sauce, and Vegetables:

dsc0808vq.jpg

I believe this is my Mom's other plate. Once again, she loved everything! Very delicious!

Ice Cream:

dsc0809hd.jpg

When we thought we were done eating, we were brought this HUGE dish of ice cream. You should have seen my face. :scared1: <-- except I was more excited. There was chocolate and vanilla ice cream, strawberries, bananas, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and mickey sprinkles. It was amazing. I wish I could have eaten more, but I was ready to explode!

(From Left to Right) Apple Crisp, Gummy Bears, Carrot Cake, Cheesecake, and a Rice Krispie Treat:

dsc05543o.jpg

This was my dessert plate. Everything was really good! Nothing extraordinarily special, but they were all very yummy! They were sample sized so you didn't have to take a ton of something if you just wanted a taste. I was very pleased!

(From Left to Right) Bread Pudding, a Brownie, Gummy Bears, Apple Crisp, Carrot Cake, and a Fruit Tart:

dsc05547l.jpg

This is Kristen's dessert plate. As you can probably tell, there was a great variety of desserts at this buffet! I was very impressed!

Strawberry Soup:

dsc05548e.jpg

People LOVE strawberry soup. I don't think I got to eat more than a couple bites, but from what I remember, it was great! It is chilled and tastes very sweet. It is served at both breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare! I want to go back so I can try it again!

Yay!!

That's what I've heard. Yeah...I'm just gonna try to live life to the fullest...but not "TOO full." I really can't wait though. Honestly. I'm so excited. See...one of my friends moved to Chile (S. America) over the summer and she's coming back in 10th grade. Plus, I was on a trannsfer this year..but next year I'll go back to my reg HS, so it'll be like a big huge "family" reunion!! :) EEP!:hyper:

This was my first complete WOW experience with food pics. I'm going to the World SPring Break on the DP for the first time...and this is one of our Dinner ADRs, and can I just say...

OMIGOSH!!!!!

I am SO ready. Bring it on, baby! We ate breakfast there a few years ago, but I'm not really a breakfast person...but this?? THIS?!?! This...is what I'm talking about. I seriously cannot even contain myself!! Eep! I am SO posting these pics on my PTR (you should check it out...links in my siggie ;))...if thatz okay with you...so I have something to resort to when I'm feeling a little Disney-sick. Yay!!

We have never eaten at 1900 Park Fare but after seeing these pictures I want to!!! OH my gosh everything looks wonderful. I can see why it was one of your favorites!!

I absolutely LOVE 1900 park fare! I have only been there for breakfest but the breakfest is one of my favorite meals in Disney! I always feel like i am there for easter brunch which is something i LOVE!!!! all there breakfest foods are amazing and some of the best in disney. the character arrangement for breakfest is a little weird because it includes pooh bear, tigger, mad hatter, alice and mary poppins. I don't know why it is those specific characters together but they all work great together. the mad hatter we had here for my senior year trip back in 2009 was one of the best character actors ever! He was ALWAYS in character! He came to our table and was just super crazy and fun and my mom and i were smiling from the great interaction. however, the best part of the mad hatter interaction was after he left the table. I was talking with my mom about a conversation i had with my friend about the new alice and wonderland movie with johnny depp as the mad hatter. I told my mom that "{insert friend's name here} thinks that johnny depp looks really creepy as the mad hatter" my mom responded to that by saying, "yeah, he does look creepy!" right after she said that we heard from the mad hatter (who was a couple of tables past us at this point, "WHAT WAS FREAKY?! Mary Poppins? Yeah I KNNOOOW!" That made my mom and i laugh for about 5 minutes straight and we couldn't calm down. It didn't help that he came right back over to us for a picture after he eavesdropped on our conversation (he went back to the other family after that so at least they didn't get jipped). we STILL say what was freaky like the mad hatter. anyway, back to your experience, your meal looks FANTASTIC!!!!! I have heard great things about disney salmon so now i am thinking i have to try it. I also have the "Stuff my face with as many different options as possible" tendency at buffets. I just see so many great foods that i want to try them all! The desserts there look great as well! Now that i have heard the strawberry soup doesn't taste weird i think i will have to try it in january. I had never tried the soup in the past because i wasn't sure about the whole fruit soup concept. Your big sundae they brought to your table looks great as well! Your character interactions sounded fun as well! I bet vickie was excited to meet cinderella again (Although i know from your trip report her favorites are snow white and sleeping beauty).

Kristen is the one who convinced me to make a reservation there, and I'm glad we did! It was great. And I will if I have time later! :thumbsup2 Haha yes, great Disney pictures help pass the time till the next trip. Thank goodness!

We have never eaten at 1900 Park Fare but after seeing these pictures I want to!!! OH my gosh everything looks wonderful. I can see why it was one of your favorites!!

You might have to get an ADR there eventually ;) It's great!!

I heard the breakfast there is really fantastic! A lot of people like it better than dinner. I would probably LOVE it because I thought dinner was absolutely amazing.
Yeah that is a weird combination of characters, but it works just fine!
That's so cute about the Mad Hatter! HAHAHA how hilarious. I just LOVE characters!! And oh my gosh... I'm just thinking... have I ever even met him!? I don't think I have!!! That is SO weird. I thought I met almost everybody! Hmm I guess I'm just gonna have to do a 1900 PF breakfast!
I would just try it! I think strawberry soup tastes great! It's sort of like melted ice cream in a way. Or a smoothie? I don't know. Just try a little and see if you like it.
Haha vick was VERY excited to meet Cinderella and, of course, prince charming :rotfl: It was great!

I am so behind. Ah well, at least I was there for this stuff. :P I wanna go to 1900 again. It's just so goooddddd.

really glad to hear a favorable review of 1900 PF! We had a really terrible dinner there almost 3 years ago and I vowed to never return. Well, DD wanted to eat with Cinderella on her birthday and after the bad reviews of the castle, I wasn't willing to spend that much money (or DDP credits). We also tried Akershus a couple trips ago and just didn't care for the menu. So back to 1900 we go next week. Your review has given me hope! :goodvibes Looking forward to more!
