By the way, I like how there is almost a hidden mickey on the bagel cabinet. If you would have taken the pic a little lower and more to the left, it would have been perfect with the knobs=)

Out of your 4 trips so far, are you saying the Garden Grill is one of your top picks?

Yes, I would say that It's a fantastic restaurant. You get such great character interaction. Because the restaurant is so small, the characters usually come around a couple times. And I just LOVE the food. I recommend that restaurant to a lot of people!

I loved your TR's and i love food so im coming over here. I remember that your garden grill review and ,the fact that my nephew asked to eat here on our last trip when he say mickey, influenced me to try it.

Sunshine Seasons

Strawberry Shortcake:

Strawberry Shortcake was one of our first "Must Do Dis-Snacks" on our January trip. Kristen and I got it during Extra Magic Hours right before the park closed. So make a note... Sunshine Seasons is open during Extra Magic Hours! Yay!

Anyways, about the actual food. This was delicious. And yes, it tastes as good as it looks. It is overall a very light snack. We had a huge dinner at Garden Grill but still had room to eat this later! The frosting tastes like whipped cream, which is a major plus for me! Also, the strawberries were very fresh and were so good blended in the layers. I'm pretty sure we devoured it in less than a minute because it was just that good!

Pizzafari

Pizzafari is a "must-do" almost every time I go to Animal Kingdom. I seriously cannot get enough of this place! It just makes me so happy!

Pepperoni and Vegetable Pizzas:

Everyone has their own opinion on "Disney Pizza," but I am one of those people who LOVE it. I typically order the Pepperoni one, and I am always pleased with it, as long as it's not overdone. (In this case, it was cooked perfectly!) It's a thick-crust pizza and it is very soft. Absolutely DELICIOUS. I have noticed there are some grains in the crust of the pizza. They don't bother me now, but as a kid I was a little leery of eating them. Anyways, the cheese is melted perfectly on the pizza and the sauce compliments it very nicely. The pepperoni is always very good! It never seems to be overcooked and it's never excessively greasy! I absolutely love this pizza. YUM!

No Sugar Added Strawberry Parfait, Chocolate Mousse, and Caesar Salads:

When you have to choose between these two desserts at Pizzafari... GET THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE! The Strawberry Parfait is NOT good. Since it's no sugar added, the yogurt has a terrible flavor. Also, the strawberries are not fresh and they were a but mushy. Just avoid it all together if you know what's good for you.

The Chocolate Mousse is very yummy! The top layer is a little heavy, but the actual mousse part is light, delicious, and chocolatey! Yum!

Lastly, a great thing about Pizzafari is that the Pizzas come with a Caesar salad. It is the perfect compliment to the pizza, and I always look forward to having that extra little side with my meal. The dressing is coated very evenly, not too much and not too little. And the lettuce is crisp and fresh! Very good!

Animal Kingdom's Rainforest Cafe
January 15th, 2011

We went to Rainforest Cafe after a day at Animal Kingdom. The restaurant is open later than the park, so by the time we were done it was well past the park's closing time. The busses run two hours after closing, I think, so we didn't have a problem getting back to our resort!

Jungle Steak and Shrimp:

WOW This was fantastic. I decided to order this, and I absolutely loved it. It was a lot of food, but everything tasted great! It was my first time trying coconut shrimp, which I loved. It was very crispy and it was cooked perfectly. The Shrimp Scampi was very good, and it was a delicious steak! The mashed potatoes were great too, of course. As far as the vegetables, I didn't really eat them. I usually don't, anyway, but there were way too many other foods to focus on! Overall, I was very happy I ordered this because everything on the plate was absolutely delectable!

Caribbean Coconut Shrimp:

This is what Kristen ordered, and it was actually her Food of the Day. That's her award for the best thing she ate that entire day, so these were obviously VERY good. I think she ate almost all of them! Similar to the pieces they gave me on my plate, these were cooked perfectly and they were nice and crispy! Very enjoyable!

Tribal Salmon:

My Mom ordered this Salmon and she was very pleased! It is Atlantic Salmon that is seared on a Cedar Plank. The glaze on it was very delicious. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were great as well.

Chicken Sandwich:

This is what Vickie ordered. I didn't try any of it, but as far as I can remember she was happy with her order! I think it was your basic Chicken Sandwich, which was exactly what she wanted!

Sparkling Volcano:

This is a Rainforest Cafe classic - so of COURSE we had to get one! The waiters and waitresses make a huge deal when they bring it to your table and they scream "VOLCANOOO!" Talk about a very exciting moment. The dessert itself is basically very large brownies and vanilla ice cream. There is also chocolate sauce and carmel sauce drizzled on it. It was plenty for all four of us to share! Yum it was so great! The brownies were nice and fudge-y and the ice cream was the perfect compliment! It is a heavier dessert, but if you have several people to share it with, it's fantastic!

Although Rainforest Cafe is a chain restaurant, we had an EXTREMELY good experience there! It's not an "every trip" restaurant, but once in a while, I love going there! There are so many options that everyone is bound to find something they like! Also, this restaurant is NOT on the Dining Plan, so you have to pay out of pocket for your meal. The service was fast, the food was great, and we loved the atmosphere! Great pick!
