2011 Free Dining is Extended! New dates as of 8/3

I love these boards - I of course got nothing from Disney Visa re the deal but was happy to read about it on the boards!

Just called and booked the new Disney Visa offer. I had a package already purchased using the 30% off code from a couple of months ago for 8 nights in Sept staying at Carribean Beach with 8 day tickets and Dining Plan (1 table, 1 counter, 1 snack) - total price was $2641 for 2 adults and a 3 year old.

I was just able to apply the free dining offer and it dropped my cost to $2339!!

Yay!!

And I was able to switch from CB to POFQ.

 should have waited to book my flights, I figured if free dining came out it would be similar dates to last year so I booked my flights for August 24-Sept 4, guess I should have waited.

I just got my Visa free dining offer from Disney Rewards. The very last line in the email says this offer will be released to the general public on May 2. Now the wait is on for an extension of free dining into November. I need Nov. 12-19!

I would suspect that FD offers for select dates in October - December will come out this summer, probably around July.

I just got my email about this offer. I was wondering why everyone is saying $99.95 is the preorder price for the photopass photobook. When i look at photopass website it says the photobooks start at 79.95, so why is it $20 more to preorder? I am new so forgive me if this is a silly question. Thanks!

ugghhhhh. I need Nov 18th!!!

If we don't get FD or a PIN code we can't go

I haven't broke down the numbers but I think last years upgrade was like $14'ish per person per day so yes its doubled to close to $30 per person per day. BTW I had booked the original reservation with 20% room only. I think the $125 upgrade is also the reflected of the 20% discount removal.

When I booked our trip with the PIN that offered free quick service dining, I was told to upgrade to the regular dining plan would be about $15/adult/day.

This is what we need too! We are going the same time! We currently have a pin booked for POFQ but would love to switch it to free dining to save that little extra! :thumbsup2

you should still be able to get the free dining for the days you are there. I asked my AAA travel agent about that last year. she said if it came out we would get it for those days that fell in those dates. check and see

No, that is incorrect. If your check-in date is BEFORE the Free Dining discount starts you do not get it for ANY of your dates. You would have to do a split stay to have any of your dates included in the free dining promo.

On the reverse, if you check in on the last day of the free dining promo you will receive the discount for your entire stay, up to 14 nights.

I just priced out my vacation (1 adult) with QS then with regular plan
The difference is $11/adult/day during regular season.
I believe it is $13/adult/day difference during peak season.

oh, maybe thats what happned with us. I think we maybe checked in after.

Similar question, but on the opposite end of the spectrum - we arrive August 27, the day before this free dining offer. I wonder if we would miss out on free dining for the entire week, or just for the first day.

This happened to us a few years ago during FD. We just booked a 1 night room only at a Value resort for our 1st night and then booked a separate package/hotel for the free dining dates.

This years dates really suck! We check in August 24 and out the 30th :sad1: so it doesn't look like we will be able to take advantage of free dining at all. So close....we miss the room only discounts too because they end August 14. Can't seem to win this year.

Agreed - I am not thrilled with the limited dates at all. I don't know if it is worth it for us to split our stay into 2 reservations. If we get a 1 day park pass for the first reservation, then the costs are basically the same. If we don't go to any theme parks, then we blow almost an entire day in Disney without being able to go to a park, plus we won't get to go to one of our ADRs, as it's scheduled at an EPCOT restaurant (Coral Reef). Boo.

Darn.. this deal only saves us $23 over the "kids stay and play free" promotion we had already booked because of that darn photobook. Oh well, better than nothing!

Oh and FYI for anyone thinking about getting a Disney Visa to get the deal now. I was approved instantly today but apparently you have to have the card in hand (otherwise you won't have the card #)... so, basically I should have just waited till next week because it takes the card 7-10 days to arrive in the mail. :(

Booked our reservation for September 3rd-10th last month under the "kids stay and play free" promotion. 2 adults and one 3 year old was $1959 (paying for quick service dining plan as well). I was shocked it was still so expensive. I'm a Disney Rewards Visa Card Holder and I called today to switch over and it saved us $249! Price went down to $1710...Incredible. The kid free and paying for dining is more than paying for the kid and getting the dining free (and a memory PhotoPass PhotoBook)! WE'RE EXCITED!

Can't wait for the dates to open up to the public on Monday and then for them to extend the dates to December like last year!
