2011 Free Dining is Extended! New dates as of 8/3

Got got the updated email and this was included in my package: FEATURE
MEMORIES PHOTO BOOK [1]

Is this standard with all packages?

No, it's a new addition to this free dining offer.

I'm confused - is it included or do we have pay for it? If I book a value resort on the included dates and take the free dining (quick service), do I then get charged $90.90 for the photobook??????:confused3

Oh no! Our travel dates are 8/16-8/24. What do you think the chances are that an expanded offer will come out for the general public in the next few days?:headache:

and there's nothing about a new offer, nothing in E-mail either. :confused3 I already have free DDP for my trip & don't want or care about the photopass book but wonder why I can't see the offer?

Anything is possible but typically the Disney Visa Card Holders get the first chance to purchase the general public offer. If anything I think the dates would get less and less as the resorts book up. :sad1:

Because Disney Visa is pathetic when it comes to letting their card holders know about current discounts and offers. Half the time I don't ever get notice of their offer and the rest of the time by the time they put it on their site or email their members, it's already open to the general public. I have always been notified of Disney Visa Offers here first on the DIS long before any notification comes from Chase.

Announced on TMFL and Intercot

Currently, this FREE DINING package is ONLY for those using a Disney Visa Card.

Disney has released a package that includes resort, tickets, photopass photobook and free dining.

Guests who book a stay at one of Disney’s Value Resorts will receive a free Quick Service dining plan. Guests who book a stay at Disney’s Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villas resorts will receive Disney’s Basic Dining Plan free.

Travel dates are 8/28 to 9/24/11

When you calculate this offer out, you are paying for all components except the dining. So, if you have the previous free dining offer - that price is lower (since you are not paying the ~$90.90 for the photopass photobook.)

Travel agents "expect" (no guarantee) this offer to go to the general public on Monday
The Mouse For Less appears to be the only place I see the details of this offer. It is not on Intercot at all. I actually wouldn't have believed it was open for booking yet, but a Diser posted on one other Free Dining pages that she was able to book it this morning.

Usually on the emails I've recieved with PINs attached for offers, the say for "for arrivals between..." instead of "travel dates." Would that mean that if I'm arriving during those dates, but my trip continues after the end date, I can't use the offer? :headache:

Example: My travel dates are 9/21 to 9/27/11, but it says the end date for the offer is the 24th.

The FD watch stress is killing me here, haha.

Similar question, but on the opposite end of the spectrum - we arrive August 27, the day before this free dining offer. I wonder if we would miss out on free dining for the entire week, or just for the first day.

Hooray,, and a slight ug. I had already booked my vaca for the 27th, hoping it to have been about the same as the last free offer, so I could overlap the Food & Wine, and already got the plane tickets :P Evil delta and thier 150$ to change a flight to the same flight a week earlier :P, but after initial disgust at our jumping the gun to do the dining res's and get the good price on flights, instead of saving 900 on the free dining , overall will be saving 600, still free money overall. Arrrrrgg, should have waited 2 more weeks.

Maybe Disney will email a new PIN after April 30. I'm really surprised the Disney Visa cardholder dates are so limited; only a few weeks. Weird.

This article on Everything Walt Disney World gives me a little hope:

Disney just released free dining for Disney Visa cardholders. Here's the information so far:

Disney Rewards Visa Cardholders FREE Dining and Photo Book Offer

Special magic Your Way packages with a FREE Disney Dining Plan are available for 8/28/22 – 9/24/11 travel dates. Guests who book a stay at one of Disney’s Value Resorts will receive a free Quick Service dining plan. Guests who book a stay at Disney’s Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villas resorts will receive Disney’s Basic Dining Plan free. Guests will also receive a Disney Photopass Photo Book included as part of their package. Availability is limited.

These offers usually precede general public free dining offers by a few days, so if you don't have a Disney Visa, your offer could be coming soon. The time-frame for this offer is very short, just a few weeks, and interestingly, it covers a period where Disney has already offered free dining. If you recall, Disney announced free dining last year for most of 2011. That offer had to be booked by December 20, 2010 and was good through September 2011. What we have not seen, are any free dining offers for the general public (exluding pin codes) for the October through December timeframe of this year. If I were travelling then, I would be on the lookout for that offer to be released.

If you read here you know that Touring Plans tweeted that a dining offer would be released before May 14th. I don't know if this is the offer or if they were referring to a bigger, general public discount. They haven't tweeted Disney Visa offers in the past, only general public discounts, so I'm hopeful that we can expect another discount to come out before the 14th. Again, this is purely speculation based on past events.

As always, you can apply discounts without penalty 45-days prior to travel if you have a Disney package; for room-only reservations, it's a week. Ask your travel agent or call Disney directly to have this offer applied.

More information as it comes out.

A couple of years ago about this time we booked free dining for late Sept. after the Visa offer came out. A few days later the same offer came out for the general public. Then a month or so later the arrival dates for free dining were extended to later in the year. I may be sketchy on my exact time frame but I would say be assured, free dining throughout 2011 and even possibly into 2012 is on it's way. It's only a matter of time, and patience.

As long as you check in by September 24, you will receive the free dining promo for your entire stay, so you trip will be covered for the entire time you are at WDW.

Yes, you would miss out on Free Dining for your entire stay. The only thing you can do is move your check-in date to the 28th or make your night of the 27th a room only reservation and have your package start on the 28th. We have done this before. You would have to go down to the front desk and re-check in, but it was worth it for us to save that kind of money.

Disney Visa holders have always gotten the Free Dininng discount 3 days before the general public. I would suspect that they select free dining dates for October - December will probably come out in the summer, probably July.

We are keeping our fingers crossed too. A friend just told me about the special offer for Visa Card Holder and said it should be coming out to the public soon.
