**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

Just got an email about the TIW discounts. Looks like TIW holders will be able to advance purchase tickets to certain Mon-Thu. events (mixology, culinary demos & wine demos) starting 8/12 via the 407-WDW-FEST line. Still no info on the actual schedule of deminars. It does say the info. will be available at disneyworld.com/foodand wine. No date though. I'm guessing 8/12 at 12:01 a.m.! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Thu. or Mon. Buddy Valastro demo so I can skip the pricey Sweet Sundays.

Just got my email also. :goodvibes

Got my email too! I'm relieved that we can get the deminars out of the way several days before we call in for the paid events! :yay: (I was feeling a bit overwhelmed at the thought of all I had to do on the 16th!!)

I only plan to book 1 culinary demo and 1 wine seminar. That will be enough for me! :thumbsup2

maybe a mixology seminar too! ;)

If we knew what was being offered it would be a little easier to plan, wouldn't it? ;)

I just read the TIW email as well. It makes me just a tiny bit anxious not knowing who will be presenting the Mixology, Culinary and Wine Seminars. I cannot book if I don't have the specifics. Unfortunately, I also won't be able to call right at 9 am since I am at work when the phones open. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that the seminars I'm interested in won't fill up. :wizard:

Culinary Demonstrations are at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Wine/Beverage Seminars are at 12:00 noon, 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. daily.

Mixology Seminars are at 6:00 p.m. daily.

That's all we need to know ahead for planning, right? :)

Not at all, Horace! :) Each Wine Seminar and Culinary Demonstration is presented by a different sommelier and chef. Therefore, each seminar is completely different and they all focus on something different. I always like to know the theme of the seminar before I book because I may be interested in certain seminars more than others. I am quite curious as to whether the brand new Mixology Seminars will be different each day as well. I would much rather book a vodka seminar than bourbon seminar, for example.

I think Horace is attempting to give you Disney's logic! :rotfl2:

"If we sell it they will pay, they don't care what we are selling" :lmao:

(And the truth is it works for them!)

LOL! Oh okay, I thought maybe Horace was a first timer to the seminar experience.

Well, Disney should know that I am stubborn and will only pay for what I am interested in buying. :thumbsup2 If the seminars are all filled by the time they release the descriptions, then I will just have to skip them.

I had to look up Buddy Valastro, his site looks delicious! Have you ever beento a Sweet Sunday? or a culinary demo?

If you ever get a chance try to catch his show Cake Boss on TLC. He is awesome! I did the Warren Brown pastry demo last year. I have not done a Sweet Sundays event. I'll do it if it's the only way I can see Buddy but I'd rather save that $90 for tastings!

Yep -- Annual Passholders and TiW members have an early booking date for Deminars (August 12th) and discounted pricing for M-Th deminars.

They say the info will be available on DisneyWorld.com -- I don't see it yet...

Early Booking Date and Discounts for TiW and AP holders

Has anyone heard anything about DVC members?

I haven't seen or heard anything about a DVC discount.

I think I've got all the discounts pretty well covered. TIW, AP, DVC - check! It's just too bad they're only good for M-Th. Makes sense I guess but I'd still love to get a discount for the Sweet Sundays.

Did anyone else notice that it states the prices is "Per TIW Member" and "Per Passholder"? I wonder if that means we'll only be able to get one ticket at the discount price. I have TIW and an AP, but my mom will just have a park hopper. In the past I could buy two tickets at the discount price.

I was wondering this, too. I remember being able to book two tickets last year, but maybe they've stopped this.

I'm by no means a veteran of Epcot F&W but my favorites are both in Ireland, the Fisherman's Pie as a savory and the chocolate lava cake for the sweet!

Same here! Add a frozen cosmo from France and I'm in heaven.

As a Previous Poster said, it matters WHAT the deminar is, so if they're all booked up before I can find out, then I won't be going. We have a pretty full schedule anyways. We're both AP holders, but STILL can't find our TIW. That's the last time that I'M not in charge of the TIW card! :headache:

I'm just catching up on the last weeks posting but felt I wanted to chime in about PFTS and accessibility. Last year I had knee surgery just prior to the festival. I was in a wheel chair but had some limited ability to walk with a full leg brace. My husband and I have been to 4 previous parties and always enjoyed moving from place to place rather than claiming a particular table.

As we entered with me in my wheel chair, a cast member saw us and directed us to a two person table in the middle of the room. He stashed my chair for me (wouldn't have been able to wheel myself on the carpet and hold a plate or glass anyway). He also seemed to keep an eye on us through the evening, offering to get me ice for my knee or anything else. As the night wore on, he even got me a refill of wine a couple of times when the crowd had really died out. I think he was going above and way beyond what was expected but it made for a really easy night for us. Crowd level will affect your ability to get around in a scooter or wheel chair but the cast members really want to make it work for everyone. At least that was our experience. While one in particular seemed to keep his eye on us, several helped me at various times in the evening. It was a great night and my immobility wasn't a problem.

Enjoy!

Thank you for the info! I am leaning towards skipping the wine view option this year to save money and knowing that I can still do the party even if I am using a scooter that day is great news. I knew they would pretty much have to let me in, but it is good to hear that the CMs go out of their way to make it a great event for the less mobile.

I am planning to upgrade my ticket to an AP and get a TiW when we get to Disney in October. Do you think I can still book early at the discounted price, or will I need my AP/TiW in hand to book? :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes
