I know that is it short notice, but it's time again to announce the "umpteenth" Towncrier Memorial (Sun)Day picnic at our home in NE Ohio. We have been holding this annual event for as long as I can remember. The tradition started when a couple of DISers (perfectmatch300 and her DH to be exact) asked if anyone wanted to go to Geauga Lake on Memorial Day weekend. One thing led to another and we decided to invite our DIS friends over for a picnic on the Sunday before Memorial Day.

We provide hamburgers and hot dogs, soda pop, and potato chips. The picnic starts at noon and has been known to go until midnight. Bring your family, your appetite, and any Disney photos, scrapbooks, Disneyana, or what have you to share with the group. Weather permitting a group of us can go visit Brandywine Falls which is just a few minutes drive from our home.

If you happen to be in Northeast Ohio on May 29th and would like to drop by, send an email to towncrier@gmail.com and I'll give you directions to our home.

Sorry for the late notice (which I seem to do every year).

Hi John,

Unfortunately, I will be driving home from Niagara Falls that day.

Alex & I just got home from WDW Monday. The best part was getting away from rain for awhile! :goodvibes

Hope all is well with you and your family. Have a great picnic!

TC :cool1:

Sorry you cannot make it to the picnic. If you want to stop by on your drive home from NF, please do so. Safe travels.

Well, wouldn't you know that I'm just going to happen to be in Northeast Ohio that weekend, so I'll be going to this event.

John, I briefly got excited about the possibility of joining you for the first time this weekend, but I can't pull off a little trip to Ohio quite that quickly. I would want to combine it with a visit to Cedar Point (whatever happened to a CP DIS meet?) and a few other places in Ohio. I know you'll have a wonderful time, as always!

The DIS Cedar Point meet was a one-time affair. We had loads of fun, but nobody ever organized a follow-up event. Some of us did go to CP prior to the Memorial (Sun)Day picnic, but it just got to be too much (according to DW Sue). Sorry you can't make it. Maybe next year?

I know I can't make it to your picnic next year because I will be cruising around Italy until May 30. :woohoo:

I was at the DIS Cedar Point meet in August 2003. (Time flies!) Some folks on the Podcast board have talked about a CP meet this summer - probably in August, but I'll be on vacation 3 weekends in August.

How about another Yankee Peddler meet in September? http://www.yankeepeddlerfestival.com/

I was hoping I could combine going to the Indy Irish Fest Sept. 16-18 with the Yankee Peddlar Sept. 17-18. Then I checked MapQuest! Canal Fulton is 5 hours beyond Indianapolis and would make for a lot of driving: 2.5 hours to Indy on Friday, 5 hours to CF on Saturday morning, 5 hours to Indy on Sunday morning, then 2.5 hours home Sunday evening.

I thought of you folks yesterday! I hope you had nice weather and avoided the rain and thunderstorms we've had so much of recently.

Overall the weather was nice. The rain and thunder didn't show up until late in the day. It was nice enough that some of the group went geocaching. When it got a little too hot outside, I made up several batches of guavaberry coladas and that seemed to do the trick. I hope that everyone had a good time.

Had a wonderful time at your place, that night at work was another story.

Had a terrific time John! Thanks again to you, Sue, Sarah and James for having us. Now where are the pics ;)

It seems like I never have much time for photos. I did manage to snap a couple, but they are still trapped inside the digital camera. If I can find the time, I'll try to get them posted somewhere.

I enjoyed myself as always. Finally got a DIS account and started posting!

Weren't you already registered as "ima_geek"??? Or is that my other daughter Sarah? LOL
That's what I thought too she already had an account. Oh well welcome Sarah Betsy Ross
