Hi All,

Leaving tomorrow for my first stay at the Beach Club. I was wondering about the "Made to Order Yogurt Parfait $4.49" at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Is this self serve at all? Or does a CM have to fill the cup for you?

Also, is the serving enough for a main breakfast item?

Thanks in advance...

:goodvibes

Here are a few photos- the yogurt station, a prepared parfait and the breakfast sandwich:

LOL! Funny you should mention it.... I was craving one today!!! When we went in August it was my everyday breakfast.... SOOOOOOOO good and I thought it was rather big-it was filling for me anyway. That's all I needed to get me through til lunchtime :)

This sounds perfect with a cup of coffee...yay!

This made me laugh!! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Glad you enjoyed it.

My boss talked to one of our client's today about going there. I had to email them the 40% off code and the crowd calendar for November and December. They said they haven't been since the early 80s when their kids were little. :rotfl:

Hannah,

It depends. December in Florida is chancy. One day you can be wearing shorts and a t-shirt, the next you are bundled in a coat with a hat and gloves on. Just bring your swim suit and hope for the best, but bring the warmer clothes too. Look at weatherchannel.com before packing to get a general idea of what weather you'll have, but don't be surprised if it changes.

Hi Hannah,

WDW in December, January, February and early March can be crazy. You can have days in the mid-80's and highs sometimes in the 50's. I've watched the Candlelight Processional in December and saw many of the choir members pass out because of the heat. I've also watched the Candlelight Processional in December in a winter coat and wrapped in a blanket and still was cold. If you come to WDW during those months, you have to be prepared for every temperature. Bring your shorts and bathing suits but also bring your winter coats, long pants, scarfs, hats, mittens. I love WDW in December because of the holiday decorations but it is a pain to pack for because you have to be prepared for cold, cool, warm and hot.

Thankyou for your answers, I appreciate it!

Hopefully its not to cold or hot!

It's final, I got the change in under the wire yesterday before the reservation line closure :thumbsup2 We are back at the Beach Club for our February trip. Can someone please explain to me what dates the pool slide is down for re-furb? We will be there Feb 5-10th and I am wondering if these dates fall in the time where we will have to use BWI Kiester coaster slide if we want a slide during our pool time???

Thanks for the help, and I am getting excited for our trip! It'll be here before I know it, I'm sure!

Hi Marie! We'll be at BC from February 7-13, and our letter from Disney said the slide would re-open in early February. The letter (and Teena) confirmed that SAB will remain open the entire time - so it's just a slide closure.

Someone on another thread guessed that the BC slide would open on or before February 7, based on a letter from Disney to BW guests stating that the BW slide will close on February 7. You may be able to try out the BW slide and then use the BC slide at the end of your trip!

Thanks Pixarmom!! That would be great!....the best of both worlds :goodvibes
Are you staying Club Level?? perhaps we'll run into each other when we are there....I'll be picking up my trusty Dis'er pin and would love to say HI to a fellow Diser! Looking forward to our first visit to the BC :cloud9:

We're big YC fans, and I wanted to make a point about the slide closure this winter.

While the pools are heated and feel great even during the "winter" months in FL, the thing that gets chilly is getting in and out of the water. Even though the slide is wonderful and a great attraction/addition to the pool, the reality is that at that time of year you'd be hard pressed to use it (or to do it more than once) because it IS chilly getting out of the pool, walking over to the slide, going up the steps, etc.

SO, long way of saying -- IMHO it's not a big deal to have the slide closed at that time of year....

We have had to change our resv from the BC to POR. Sad but happy too. My parents have decided to join us and couldn't swing the cost to stay at BC, and need our help with my dad who will be traveling with a existing blood clot in his leg. His doctor just ok'd travel but that means not staying at our beloved BC. Happy that my parents can join us, don't get me wrong. But we are going to miss BC and are going to be packed in the room at POR as we are a family of 5 and kids are 16, 14, and 12. Wish I had a wind fall of cash that I could swing paying the difference for them too. It would be so much more convenient to be at the BC too, for when he is tried and needs a resort break.

Disneynuts- did you try checking into the BCV one or two bedroom? I'm not sure what the price difference would be, but it might be worth it to check especially with the number of people.

BCV not available. Old Key West and SSR are but are about $11000 so more than their resv and ours combined. Thought maybe if it was close we could get them to do that. But it would be about $1000 more for them.:sad1:

TeenaS,

We will be arriving via Magical Express after Midnight. When I check in will I be able to purchase park tickets?

What about renting points on the DVC board. They rent for about $10. Then you could rent a 2 bedroom with full kitchen and washer/dryer.

Concierge will be closed. However, sometimes, and I repeat, SOMETIMES, depending on who is working the late shift, they might be able to sell you tickets. Most of the CMs on the front desk don't know how to sell tickets but some of the old timers do.

Add us to the October list! 10/24-10/30 YC CL

Teena, I'm sure we'll come thru the BC lobby to say hello. You've been so helpful on this thread, I can't begin to thank you and Natebenma (and everyone! I love to read all the questions and answers) for all the advice & information.

I just saw that we will be there during that week and I was reading about how bad they were does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there a chance they will end up at the BC? Do they go to the VMCP we are going the 9th so I'm worried it's going to be crowded

We will be at the party that evening as well. We haven't gone before but from everything I've read it sounds like it is a good evening to go. There are so many tips on here about how to get the most out of that evening that I'm sure it will be great regardless of who else is attending. Enjoy!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the YC. I do have to say that we prefer the BC more so than the YC. I don't know if it was the time of year or what, but we had a very hard time finding breakfast in the mornings. Beaches n Cream was open for breakfast over the summer, however, it was closed for breakfasts on this trip. If you don't have ADR's for Capt. Grille you'll be looking at a very long wait time. YC definitely needs a snackbar with a refillable mug station.

We will be there in Dec and were looking forward to going to Beaches n Cream for breakfast. Do you know if it will be open for breakfast in Dec?

I'm pretty sure (but Teena can correct me if I'm wrong!) that Beaches and Cream was only open for breakfast on a trial rumm in the summer of 2009.

We were there the first day they opened in July 2009 and we loved it! Unfortunately they discontinued it. This summer they were back to just doing lunch and dinner.

It's a shame because everyone I talked to LOVED the breakfast at B&C!

It sounds like the B&C open for breakfast topic would be a good item to suggest, for those who are able to complete one of the surveys.
