janloz - how great of you to get this - and so fast!!! I'll second all of Teena's comments regarding "Y&B Dis," year, small, photo or logo from Y and B, etc.

I know Teena said earlier in this thread that all the beds at Beach Club are now queen size ... But is that the same at Yacht Club? We really need the bigger beds (like myself, husband and son will all end up in one most nights). Is there a chance we'd end up with two fulls in a club level room?

Just hit the 30 day mark! I have said it before, but need to exclaim it again I am sooo amazingly excited for this trip. Words really cannot describe it. It really is a dream come true for me. I have literally fantasized about being able to stay at the BCV, and cannot believe it is actually coming true. I am so afraid someone is going to pinch me and I am going to wake up

I can feel my heart start beating faster when I think about swimming in SAB, or think about the lovely stroll to Epcot. Or sunset over the lighthouse. Or pretty much everything about this resort!!

Thank you all for all your suggestions, words of wisdom. I must say the YC/BC patrons DO really seem like the friendliest bunch on the Dis, which is very nice to see (my only complaint about The Dis is the negative energy that can be found too often).

Will also be doing MNSSHP for the first time on 21 SEP. Halloween is my favorite holiday and disneyworld is my favorite place. So to be experiencing BOTH at the same time, I am afraid my head will explode with excitement!!!

Is it too early to start packing?!

Teena - I have been reading so many wonderful things about you. Will you be there during my stay. Would love to meet you!!

Are you in my head? I have wanted to stay at BC since I was a kid and saw the lights reflecting on the water. We are finally going in Sept 2011 and it's a dream come true!! My husband surprised me by saying we could do BC CL for our 10 year anniversary !!

Also, Halloween is my fave holiday, and I will be going for my first MNSSHP next year! Let me know how much you love it!!

And is it too early for ME to start packing?? Have a great trip!!!

Depending on how I'm feeling we might want to go into the parks. As this is a last minute trip and the parks / no parks are still up in the air I haven't purchased tickets.

Does anyone know if we can purchase tickets at the IG entrance or at the YC front desk?

Finally booked my stay for December 5th-10th. BC water view. I had orginally wanted GF, but there seemed to be no rooms available at the AP rates, so I chose BC from what I am reading on this thread it was a very good decision!

We will be there at the same time, Dec. 3-11. We just changed from
AKL to BC because of the discounts. I was disappointed at first but I agree with you, after reading this thread I think it worked out for the best. I hope

Thank you! I read something in another thread and kind of panicked. I thought all deluxes had queen beds in all two-bed rooms.

Thank you Natebenma! That will definitely be something to consider....do you by chance know if they accept the DDP? That is an important consideration for where we choose to eat.
If I get bored of Cape May, perhaps this will be a great alternative

I am very much looking forward to our first stay at the BC!

Not sure about the DDP but I'd assume they do. One nice thing I noticed was how much quieter the Captain Grill was. Sometimes the chaos of a character breakfast is fun and other times it is nice to start a bit more peacefully! You are on the DDP so it doesn't matter but I noticed the buffet was also a bit cheaper than Cape May.

We booked this morning for our next trip (we just came back Sunday and we already couldn't stand not having something planned!) in January. We loved the YC so much that for the first time ever we are going back to the same resort twice! I think we might have found "our" resort.

Anyway - we had a great standard view and per the maps I have seen it was indeed a standard view. This time standard wasn't available so I have a garden view. What does that mean exactly? Does it mean just that we won't have a parking lot or roof view? Anything I should request - we aren't at all picky but a quiet room like the one we had this time would be great!

Just sort of thinking out loud but I had a vision of something like a button-pin ... like the first visit or happy birthday pins they give out at the front desk ... that size or a tad smaller. Is that possible? What do the rest of you think???

I'm thinking no year on it since we'd want to wear it year after year. Again, just my thoughts.

And maybe something more like "Y&B Disser" (do you spell it Diser or Disser?) I think we are a special group and I hate to say it, but lots of people don't like the Disboards because some of those threads get real ugly and nasty. I've had people say to me when I mention the Disboards, "are you kidding, you go on them? You don't seem the type." I understand what they mean ... I have friends who read once in a while but would never post ... let's face it, most of the threads get ugly. So I personally don't want to advertise I'm on the Disboards, although I have no problem saying I'm just a Y&B Disser. How do you all feel?

I have been following this thread for months now and just thought it was time to say hello. My family and I will be arriving on Oct. 2 to the 9th, for what we are calling a "do over" trip. We were at the World last September but had to leave early due to my mother in law taking ill. We left after only 3 days of our seven day trip and she pass away a week after we got home. She always wanted to be able to go with us but couldn't because of her health so this year we decided that in memory of her we would take it up a bit and stay BC/ CL. I know my kids will love it and it will be a great way for them to remember thier grandma.

As if last year wasn't enough my grandmother just pass away this past Friday. So for me this trip holds even more.

Anyway, thanks for listening and I hope that we will get a chance to see some of our fellow Dis'ers while we are there!

Oh yeah, and it is my 13th wedding anniversary!

The Captain's Grill is fantastic for breakfast - I actually prefer it over Cape May FOR BREAKFAST (certainly not dinner - Cape May is one of my favorites). And at lunch, the Grill has a fantastic Lobster Roll. For breakfast, it has a buffet or order off the menu. It is a table service for the Disney Dining Plan.

We've eaten B, L, and D at Captain's Grille, and enjoyed all of them. We have B and D booked there again this fall. As Teena said, they take DDP. We used it there last fall twice.

Starting January 1st, all the rooms have been reclassified. Now we have standard rooms - yucky views; garden views - nice views but no view of water; water views - nice views of water. Same three categories are also starting January 1st for the club level rooms. So, if you book a standard, you can be pretty sure your view is going to be yucky. But for people like me who never open the drapes when I'm in the room (cause I'm sleeping, showering or changing clothes), it's what I'll book - why pay for a garden or water view if I'm not going to look at it ... I'd rather spend the money for a massage or dinner at Yachtsman. However, for the people that do enjoy the view and spend time looking at it, the new classifications are great ... no more guess work. You'll get what you paid for.

Clearly I need more time with the computer. I don't know how people can whip these things up so fast, and have them look so good.

I agree: drop the year. That way, we can re-use it. If a button-style, one could Sharpie pen the year on it.
Incorporating all 3 logos also sounds good.
