Arriving on Friday morning, looks like a good weekend and then COLD weather for next week

I will be arriving at the Beach Club Villas on the 20th-23rd. Just a quick drive by on the way back from a cruise.

Looks like we got an upgrade from garden view to club!!!!!! Couldn't be more excited!

The Villas don't have a club level.

Checked into the Beach Club yesterday morning. Booked a standard room for four nights. The nice woman working at the check in desk asked if we have ever stayed on the fifth floor. Major pixie dust now we are staying CL . This resort is absolutely beautiful and the upgrade just made our day.

That is what it says on my confirmation email I got yesterday. I can only assume it means that we are staying in the BC now.

I don't want to burst your bubble but I remember quite a few people who were staying at BCV and seeing the worlds club level on their confirmation and it was just a mistake.

There is no cl at BCV and I've NEVER heard of anyone who booked BCV being transferred over to BC.

It also refers to the fact that I booked using Winter Room only rates.

I wonder why it would put something different on some and not others.

I know it's wierd! It just happens sometimes. There have been other instances too where someone booked a cl room and the reservation said deluxe cl room when it really only meant deluxe resort, cl level.

It's possible but very unlikely that they moved you to a different resort. However, since you are not on points, it could happen. DisneyMomx7 is correct. Sometimes strange things change on your reservation as to wording. And it will happen to some reservations and not others. We've seen a number of people that booked at the Villas have their reservation change to a different type of wording ... something that's not even at the Villas.

The thing that is strange with yours is that I think you said you originally booked a garden view. You can't book a garden view at the Villas. There is no such category. Are you absolutely sure you booked at the Villas and not the Beach Club?

Well, if you booked at the Villas and it says "garden view", you definitely have one of those strange reservations that makes up types of rooms, etc.
There is no category for garden view at the BCV. So, although it's possible they could have moved you over to the BC and into a CL room, it's a very long shot ... so I hope you are not disappointed if you are not moved. And I'll keep my fingers crossed that you are one of the very very few that do get moved over to the BC and upgraded.

The categories at the Villas are only for the size of the villa: studio, one bedroom or two bedroom. You can certainly "request" a garden view on your reservation but you can't book a "garden view" since there is no such category like that over at the Villas.

At the YC and the BC, starting 1/1/11, there are three categories: standard (yucky view - roof or parking lot); garden (nice view like a garden or courtyard); and water (view of pool or lake). Then we also have those same three categories on the club level.

I know I've been going nuts with Christmas shopping, the kids' school activities and we've had the flu going through our family.

Now it's time to bump up the Y&BC thread.

Just got back from BC today, gotta say it was stunning. Had a spectacular view of the Boardwalk. I adored it!

I know - so quiet! It must be because so many of the BC/YC Disers are AT the BC/YC in December!

We'll be back at BC in February, but have everything set for now. (As always, we're considering whether to switch our garden view reservation to CL.)

Mickey T., I posted this on Dee's trip report also, but we'll be at WDW for Marathon Weekend, too! Not for the marathon - for our youngest son's birthday. And with three BC stays in a 12-month period, we decided to do something different and stay at the Poly for that one. Good luck with the run and the surprise stay at GF for your wife!
