I miss the 180 window! 90 is way too close which means competition will be fierce! :rotfl:I'm going to wake up early and have my plan, and back up plan, have the internet dining open and be on the phone at the same time!!:surfweb:

The way it works right now you can get onto the online ADR system an hour before you can call. So all of us that know about the online ADR system have a little advantage! : )

Hey There!!

Just back and ready to book 2010 too!!

I am really hoping for a new plan...Is that asking too much???

Deluxe is too much and Basic is not enough (table service)!!! Something in the middle would be great! :goodvibes

I agree with you, but I don't think it is going to happen. I would love to see a plan that has 2 meals per day, but anywhere (TS or CS, your choice), a snack per day and a refillable mug. We don't need more than one snack per person per day, and we certainly don't need 3 meals daily. But 2 TS meals on some days would be nice because of the character breakfasts. I would happily pay OOP for CS lunches sometimes if a plan like this was in place. But, like I said, it will likely not happen. So we will continue doing what we do...get the basic plan, use the CS credit on lunch in the parks and the TS on dinners, and get an occasional character breakfast OOP. Still costs us much less than the deluxe plan would, even if we pay OOP for an appetizer once in a while, but it is not likely we would do that anyway (we're more dessert people than appetizer people). And we go for 10 nights, so 40 snacks among the 4 of us will be plenty (one per person per day)...I can't even imagine what to do with 80 snack credits plus 3 meals daily! I would be sick of eating after the second day.

I can't even imagine eating all of food on the Deluxe plan. DH and I have eaten SO MUCH with the basic plan. For our January trip we are thinking of trying the QSD just because we will have 2 young grandskids with us for 9 days and I think they will get tired of the TS meals. Of course we will plan a few character meals in there too. I like that there are different choices now so you can make it work for whatever your family wants. I sure do love those TS restaurants though. We are trying some new ones in September and I can't wait! I wish they would extend the Nov/Dec Visa offer to January! That would be PERFECT for us.

Does anyone know the date that Disney will release the DDP prices and package information for 2010? We decided to go July 13, 2010 and are booking August 13th (11 months in advance for DVC home resort). I would like to know the DDP rates before that. I know they come out some time in August. Anyone know an actual date? Thanks!

Why would you want to know that before you book in August 2009?
You can add DDP up to 48 hours before check-in. You can change or remove it in that same time period too.:confused3

We were thinking the same thing. The deluxe plan is definitely 1 snack and 1 TS too much. I don't even care about the refillable mug! We would use our 2 TS on Signature Restaurants and one must visit to Chef Mickeys!!

Currently we get the basic plan for 4 people. We order Appies OOP (hardly ever eat the dessert) and ALWAYS have a cocktail OOP!!:woohoo:

I love the 1 TS restaurants that we usually go to, but would LOVE to add some signature restaurants to change the yearly vacation a little now that the kids are older. But like you said its not likely to happen and I'll be more then happy to return to our original favorites!!!

Just Wishful Thinking!!!

When do you know what Dining Places will exept the DDP for 2010? Is it in Aug or December!

It's usually August that they come out with the prices and any plan changes. It sometimes takes a while for some of the restaurants to re-new their contracts though. Some of them even waited until January for 2009 if I remember correctly.

Does anyone have an inside scoop on when the dining plan packages will be announced for the early part of 2010?

I wish I knew! I'm also wondering if they'll offer quick service dining again! We should know in the next few weeks! I can't wait to find out!

Per discussion with a CM yesterday, the booking will open for 2010 vacations (and will then include pricing information) in mid August. The dining plan options should also be known at that time.

I thought that the new resort and dining plan prices come out this Sunday, August 2nd. I hope it does...but I can wait another couple of weeks if I have to! I can't book my DVC villa until August 13th anyway since I could book 11 months before check-in date. I do hope it comes out soon though because my parents and sister are going to be booking Pop Century for next summer so we can go together. They leave on a cruise on August 12th and they would like to book before they go, but again, no big deal.

Has anyone notice place not re-new their contracts?

There is only one restaurant that was included in free dining that isn't any more, and that is Fulton's in Downtown Disney which was only on the plan briefly when it first came out. Since then, the non Disney owned restaurants have taken their sweet time in getting the contracts done, but they've all come back eventually.

I fully expect that we'll all be biting our nails come mid-Dec over rumors that this will be the year that the non-Disney owned places will opt-out, and then sometime around the holidays, the updated list will come out looking just like 2009s. It happened in 2007, it happened in 2008, and I don't see anything changing for 2009. :rotfl:

LOL Colleen27! We need to try to keep this post hidden from Pumbaa_, she threatened to pull up the 2007 Dining Panic/Watch and 2008 Dining Panic/Watch threads again in 2009 (once we start our own new Dining Panic/Watch thread)

Word of caution to everyone - there will probably be very few non-Disney owned restaurants on the list that comes out in August. We won't see them until December.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: The panic thread almost needs to become an annual sticky, doesn't it?

Our first deluxe dining trip was mid-Jan 2008. I was :headache: :scared1:  over the delay in 2007, since I had several ADRs for restaurants that I wasn't even sure would be taking the plan. So when the 2008/9 panic started, I just had to pop onto some of those threads to share my wisdom, which was largely met with "But this year is different. Costs are up. Gas is up. Restaurants can't make ends meet on DDP reimbursements. The sky is falling!". :lmao:

We're going in late Feb of 2010, so I'll be hanging out, passing the time on the 2009/10 panic thread too, I'm sure. :surfweb: :rolleyes1

Hey! I resemble that remark! :lmao:

Do I have to start the -we go through this every year people... posts already? tell me i don't???? :scared1: :lmao:

i will just keep posting this every other week :yay:

Is there a list of non-Disney owned restaurants that accept the 2009 plan?

I will be happy if all the restaurants accepting the 2010 plan are on the list by April...our trip is July 13, 2010 and my ADR date is April 14, 2010. Of course, with my madness in planning these things so far in advance, I will be biting my nails along with everyone else until December and making an endless number of "possible ADR lists" for when we go, making sure to cover all possibilities. Then I will finally make my ADRs in April and realize that I will get into a restaurant for dinner each night, and even if it is not my first choice I will enjoy myself...after all I will be in DISNEY WORLD baby!!!

I am going to wait though to add the dining plan. Probably after I make our ADRs. I have until 48 hours before check-in to add it (DVC members staying on points), so I will probably just do it in April after making ADRs.

The 2010 WDW resort rates are available now, but not the dining plan information. Is this unusual? Does the dining plan info usually come out later than the resort prices? I can't imagine Disney getting rid of the dining plan.

I called today, and they said to check back tomorrow for the 2010 dining plan prices and to make reservations.
