2009 DVC/Cast Member Marathon Weekend Race Application

I was just looking for this so I could send in Chad's Goofy registration - thanks Robert!

Thanks Robert. Quick question out of curiosity, but if someone where signng up for the Goofy, would they put in an estimated time for the marathon or and estimate as to what they think it will take to complete both events?

**Nothing contained in this post should be construed or interpreted as meaning I will be signing up for the Goofy.

I wasn't sure about that either.
So I wrote in "Half" above that with a time, then jotted "Full" before the boxes they provide.

If that makes any sense...

Thanks Robert, Lynn is in for the full and I am in for the goofy.

You da Man!!!!

I've got it printed out next to me right now.

Do I check Mickey or Goofy?

I was afraid you would say that.........................:lmao:

That was me at the end of the Full, standing right outside the checked bag pick up tent. You know, I told you to spend more time with us. And here you are. Yay! Thanks for keeping an eye on us this past weekend. :thumbsup2

Thanks for keeping an eye on us this past weekend.

My pleasure!

Sorry I could not talk more, but the end of the races is actually very busy for us. A fair amount of people drag themselves through the finish line & tank right after, so we have to really keep moving.

On a bicycle.

In the middle of 10,000 people.

Nobody said anything about going quick!

Oh Jim I saw that! It's hard enough for me to stay upright on a bicycle going fast! I don't know how you guys did it! You should get a special medal for not taking anybody out! :lmao:

So I don't have to send in a time yet for a completed race? I can do that later? (Both DH and I are doing a half in March.)
Does putting your estimated time put you in a certain wave? If DH gets in a wave higher than mine can he go down and be with me?

When does the runner's retreat open to sign up for? Does that sell out fast?

Thanks for the link! :thumbsup2

OK, I saw this -

Proof of Time:
Corral placement is based on proof of time. If you believe you will finish the half marathon in 2:45 or less, proof of time is required. Acceptable forms of proof of time are either a photocopy of a finisher's certificate or a print out of race results. All forms of proof of time must be from a marathon, half marathon or any race K or longer, after July 1, 2006.

So does this mean I can use a 10K time for placement in the half?!?

And if we send that in, but have a better pace time at our half can we send that in after the fact?

Your DH can move from a "faster" corral to a "slower" corral but not the other way. You can use a 10K and if you do a faster time later just email it to DisneySports@emmi.com or if really late just bring it to the race expo.

See you next year:thumbsup2

Thanks Robert.

I have a 10:59 overall pace for a 10K I did Thanksgiving. Will this put me in wave B or C? (There are only three waves, correct?) Waves are the same as corrals? :confused3

Will you post on your site as the half fills up?

Is there a benefit to being put into a certain corral? How many corrals are there and what is the reason for them?

The corrals is where you are segregated by approximate estimated finish time.

In the 1/2, there were corrals A & B (that started at 6 a.m.), Corrals C & D (that started at 6:10) & corrals D,E & F (that started at 6:25).

The full is also arranged the same way (more corrals though, I think), but the faster corrals start at one place and the slower at another. All the corrals start at the same TIME, but 2 different PLACES. The courses merge around the 3 - 4 mile mark.

When you send in your entry with an estimated finish time, they will place you in a specific corral. The slower your time, the farther back you start.

Thanks. So the Wave A, B and C for the half is totally different than the corrals? :confused3

So if I sent in a 10:59 average pace time from a 10K (2:23 estimated for the half) and DH sends in a 9:14 time (2:01) about where do you think we'll end up?

The 3 different wave starts are also corraled. They break each wave up(corrals) based on estimated times. Disney changes the corral placements every year depending on number of runners.

Everyone runs the same course for the 1/2, just starting at different times. As Jim mentioned, the full uses 2 starts(Red and Blue). This year was different in that all the 3 fastest corrals were on the Blue course and everyone else on the Red. In 07, corral A started on the Blue and corral started the red. 08 corral B was behind A on blue course.

One thing that is for sure, Disney will make minor adjustments. They have for the last 3 Goofy's.

Ok, so for the 1/2 not only are there waves but different corrals too? I am totally confused.

I run about an 11 minute mile (5.5mph on the treadmill) so where would that put me and would I have to prove any time?
