After spending 4 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge and 3 nights on the Disney Wonder in Feb/March of 2007, our family has decided that another cruise is in order. While Disney World is great, cruising is our new desire. :cool1:

This silly little pre-pre-trip report will keep me occupied while we wait on the 2009 cruise itineraries and prices.

Join me in my saga as I count down the days to actually booking a vacation. Sound boring enough? :confused3 I promise better things are to come!

In jumping on board the ship with you Amanda. Looking forward to seeing your funny side come out.

Another one of Amanda's groupies checking in.
Judi

When will they release the 2009 itineraries??

Tricia, Heather, Judi and Rebecca: You guys are such suckers! LOL

AZDisneyDan, I have heard rumors that they will release the first part of 2009 sometime early fall. But who knows.....

ok so your not alone. I too am waiting to book a 09 cruise. .... Ill wait to start a pre trip report until then LOL

Dh and I have discussed possibly taking a fall 2008 cruise. But he can't get over his sticker shock. Chicken. So we are still planning on something in February or March of 2009. Honestly though, if we could afford something next year the prices are phenomenal. As low as $724 a person for a 7 nighter! That's a steal.

Welcome to my babble anewmac and disneydance.

I'm planning on a 2009 cruise as well, either in Feb for a 7-night one, or possibly a "special" one if they have any that appeal to me - and they probably will.

hey, Amanda! When we were on the Wonder in mid June, they told us at the pre-booking desk that the 2009 itineraries would come out around December 07 or Jan. 08.

I can't wait until the 2009 rates come out. Thinking of making a dummy date on the Transatlantic cruise to get an on board offer the change for my DH 40th B-Day in April. :scared1:

So????? Did you start packing yet???????

I am just now seeing this post. Duh.

I don't know if I can wait that long! ;) I was hoping the rates would come out closer to October... :confused3 Oh please oh please!

I'm with ya....at least this will pass time for my 2010 European Cruise...anyone know when the rates will come out:confused3 It's for my husband's 40th Birthday. At this point we don't know what ship or actually when in 2010 but we know we want to do as much of Italy as we can.

To make things more official I thought I'd introduce us. Sit back and relax while I give you our life story.:surfweb:

Who am I? I'm Amanda (aka Mom or head vacation planner extraordinaire). Currently I am 30 years. That's about to change in 2 weeks. But whenever I'm at Disney I don't feel a day over 8. So for math purposes :teacher: let's say I'm 31 minus 8 = 23. Yea, that's a good age.

I've been a Disney lover ever since I can remember. As a kid my parents took me and my little sister to Disney many times. Not enough times necessarily, but many times. I grew up watching Disney movies, wearing Disney t-shirts, singing Disney songs, etc. You get the idea.

As an adult I tear up whenever I see a commercial about Disney World. Why is that? There's something about the idea of visiting Disney that makes me excited and wanting to cry. :confused3 I'm a freak like that.

Who are they? They would be the boys. I have one big boy who is dh, my not so Disney-fied redneck. And I have threee littles who are my so-so Disney-fied sons.

Dh (that's dear only 14.675% of the time) and I met in high school, yada, yada, yada, married in 1997 and 3 sons later we're hanging in there. He had never been to Disney prior to 1998 when we travelled as a second honeymoon in June of that year. It was a quick, fun trip and he started to realize how fun Disney could be. Though he's still not as convinced as I am.

The boys are B, C, and D. :teacher:

B (7) is a bike riding, baseball playing, whirlwind of goofiness. His first trip to Disney was in 2002 when he was not quite 3 years old. He loves rides and is a semi-Disney fan.

C (5) is a rolling in the dirt, fishing, spitfire of sarcasm. His first trip to Disney was just this year, February 2007. He was sorta impressed though he did prefer the cruise over the World.

D is the holy terror of the group. He's just 1 year old and has added plenty of grays to my head. He's never been to Disney as he vacationed at Grandma's and Grandaddy's while we went in February. By the time we cruise in 2009 he'll be almost 3!!!!:scared1:

The crew is ready for our next cruise. The littles ask quite often when we're going next. :confused3 I typically reply with a mommy phrase, said dreamily "One day......" I keep reminding them to save up their extra coinage and maybe "one day" will get here faster. They happily oblige. :cloud9:

Now you know the crew. Any questions?

So it's now getting to the end of September. They're have been rumors about the 2009 prices coming out in October. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's sooner than later. Please oh please let it be soon! :upsidedow

There is a possibility that my mother-in-law will be traveling with us when we go on our next cruise. There is nothing set in stone but it seems that she is game. This would actually work to our advantage I think, since we have to book two rooms for the 5 of us anyhow. Having her go would help cut down on the expense a bit! :rolleyes1 Plus it would be fun for her and for the kids.

The crew is ready. If I told them to pack their bags tonight they would happily oblige. Alas, the wait continues.:guilty:
