2009 booking dates

We want to go back to WDW in August of 2009. Does anyone know when we would be able to book our room as well as airfare?

Usually in August-the new prices come out. But you can book the room now.

I agree is it usually August. This makes it hard for those of us that go in January. However I "make" myself get our trip planned and ressies made. LOL

I like booking online--right now they only go to 12/31/2008. Should I assume that if I go to wdw online the first week of the new year, I will be able to see September 2009 dates and book? (I am shy when it comes to doing business over the phone, so I prefer not to if I can help it!...)

amykay9377, you'll be able to book for September 2009 long before the beginning of next year. Historically, rates for the following year are released in August, so it should be within the next 4-6 weeks that you'll be able to book for 2009!

"Packages" can't be reserved until the 2009 rates are unveiled, which, as stated earlier, will likely be some time in August.

But you can book a "room-only" reservation right now! But only by telephone, not on the website. In fact, you can make room-only reservations 499 days in advance.

If you want to stay in a resort or room category that frequently sells out, then you definitely want to go ahead and book a room-only reservation ASAP, to make sure you aren't locked out of getting the room you want. You can change it to a package later, if you want.
