2008 Celebration at WDW

They've extended the Year of a Million Dreams until December 31, 2008. This is from the annual passholder publication the Mickey Monitor.

I want to know what will happen afterward to the Dream Team, and the Castle Suite. I think they will still be giving dreams away after December, but it's good that they have extended it.

^ I heard somewhere that they brass at WDW is thinking of keeping the Dream Team permanantly. As for the suite, I think they might keep it and let VIPs use it.

With the dream team hopefully they keep some of the dreams too. ( Dream Fastpass )

the year of a million dreams celebration is just what it sounds like. disney is "celebrating the dream making magic of the cast members" where "they may surprise you with special entertainment and magical moments." yes...thats quoted from the monorail.
anyway, basically we've added a new "team" of cast members called the dream squad that walk around all of walt disney world offering special "magical moments". one of these is the castle suite stay. theres also the dream fast pass and the chance to be the grand marshals in the "disney dreams come true parade". yoiu can also be surprised by a "magical moment" if you happen to be at the right place at the right time. all locations (like stores, etc.) have magical moments. we're trying to achieve the goal of making a million dreams come true. o.o

YAY! I'm not going in 2008 though because I'm going this year, but we usally go every other year, or that's been the pattern. does anyone know if there is the year of a million dreams on the disney cruise's?

Yay! I'm so excited! I just love Year of a Million Dreams promotion. I was sad because we can't get back until next year. Now all my dreams will come true!

Anyways as for the castle suite they will either keep giving away stays...or rent it out. They've been getting offers of about $50-60,000 from people to stay a night there. (Heard this on Travel Channel the other night)

Well, I'm sure they will add something new in a couple years. I could kind of see Disney keeping this going permanently, but it could end up costing them more money than it's worth, at which point they'd probably cancel it.
